Jasmine and Dabnis were going to get married... It was going to be a candlelight wedding in a few days..

The week leading up to it...As is Philadelphia tradition...The Groom was not allowed to see the bride to be..

''Donnie Ray just loves us, that's all." said Kayla...  It was after all true...They were my family now in my new city, I mused.

Paris laughed at that.....

 "I know you're excited girl....I'm excited for you...Just like I was when Beverly was where you are, Kayla too." said Olivia...  'All my baby girls are getting married."gushed Olivia, hugging Jasmine, who was like her prodigal daughter, who had come home..

''I'm very excited Liv...Last time I was genuinely this excited was the day I graduated from Law School.." gushed Jasmine..

We all laughed and ate...

Dabnis walked by our place, hoping to catch a glimpse of Jasmine...He could smell the food..

Alfreda, our office manager walked outside at just that time...

"I was just coming to visit you...Here..They made you a platter...It's New York Strip Steak, an Omelette, Hash Browns and Sausages...."said Alfreda..  "See your wifey to be was thinking of you."said Alfreda..

"I'm coming to find that she's good like that.."said Dabnis...

Alfreda smiled..

"Relax....you got two more days....Just 48 Hours and she'll be yours...All yours..." she said.

TWO DAYS LATER-

It was to be a candlelight wedding...They rented a room in the Art Museum

....It was the largest room for a wedding I had ever seen..

Kayla was Jasmine's Maid of Honor...

Both of her parents were deceased....Despite the fact that I'm only ten years older than her ,Jasmine asked me to give her away...

"You should Donnie Ray..It would mean so much to her!" said Olivia.

and so I proudly walked Jasmine down the aisle...

The placed was packed...Dabnis had a huge family.....Jasmine had only three Aunts, Three Uncles and 12 cousins....That was about it..and us of course...

She and Dabnis stood next to each other shaking like leaves....

Pastor Struthers said..

''Do you Jasmine Lee Jenkins take this man, Dabnis James Coley to be your lawfully wedded husband, to honor and obey, in sickness and health, forsaking all others and til death do you part?"

''Oh I do....I do..." she said..smiling and with tears flowing down her cheeks...

and do you,Dabnis James Coley take this woman,Jasmine Lee  Jenkins to be your lawfully wedded  wife, to honor and obey, in sickness and health, forsaking all others and til death do you part?" asked Reverend Struthers..

"YESSSSSSSSSSSSS LAWWWWWWWWWD!" he said..just looking at her and salivating like a hungry wolf....

The entire room erupted in raucous laughter that lasted a few minutes..

"Yes would have been sufficient, but I get the idea..By the Powers Granted to me by the state of Pennsylvania...I declare you...HUSBAND AND WIFE....You may kiss your bride.." he said..

Everybody laughed and clapped....

He kissed Jasmine passionately.....He couldn't believe they were married....Neither one of them saw that coming...

The reception was packed...

 "You know , we brought the New Year in together..."said Jasmine..

''Yeah, at Mulberry Street...Reed Nelson and his Quartet was playing.. I didn't have a date and uh you had just broken up with all three of your men..."said Dabnis...

"You've always been the guy I could go to when things weren't looking up..."laughed Jasmine ,leaning her head on Dabnis's shoulder..

"Yeah, you were always my go to girl too when I couldn't find a date...But we never went to bed..That was the only difference...We shoulda....You know?"said Dabnis..

''I know right? ...Now look at us...Married..and in a house...WOWWWW!  This year was surprising.."said Jasmine..

 "It was...My mind is still blown! I-I-I can't believe it!!!!" said Dabnis..

''Me  too!" said Jasmine.

They kissed passionately....

It had been a beautiful candlelight wedding...

That night in their Hotel Room...

 Dabnis couldn't take his eyes off of Jasmine..

She smiled and began to take her wedding dress off..
