The Fishbowl...The nickname the Detectives had for their interrogation room.

Attorney Edward Holman sat calmly with his legs crossed as Lt. Tragg stared him down..

"You got any coffee around here? That would go a long way to lightening my mood..That and some Febreeze...Phew, this room has a ghastly odor..." he said.

"You co-operate with me and you'll get some coffee." said Lt. Tragg.

Eddie Holman laughed....

"You want me to confess huh? Confess to something I didn't do. I didn't kill anybody." he said.

"Look, the guy fired you...Your company was upset with you...He was threatening to go to another firm for representation..That was putting a damper on your chances for advancement.."said Lt. Tragg.

"So I killed him?...A Paying Client? You can't think I'm that stupid....Are you that stupid? Maybe you are..." said Edward Holman , who sat back and defiantly said nothing.

Lt. Tragg looked up and saw familliar faces..

"Awwwwwww Crimminy...You Guys!" he said.

"Hello Lieutenant....Hello Mr. Holman...We are the Attorneys Mr. Hughes hired to defend you. I'm Yvette Jones -Lockwood, McCluskey/Cozen Connor and Pratt and these are my associates.

"Attorney Keith Jones." said Yvette.

"Hello." I said.

"Attorney Beatrice Evans-Jones, his wife." said Yvette.

"Hello." said Bee Bee.

"Attorney Sofia Garcia-Ahmed"said Yvette..

"Hola." said Sofia.

"Her Husband, Kahlil Ahmed." said Yvette.

"And our investigator, Jade Lee Ho."said Yvette, finally.

"Hello" said Jade.

"An Attractive Bunch.." laughed Edward Holman. "How shrewd and careful is Mr. Hughes ? He knows that corporate doesn't want to touch this case...So he goes to a rival firm..."laughed Edward Holman.

"I tried a few cases in his courtroom when he was a judge." said Yvette.

"Oh you did huh? Any thing else with Landon?" asked Edward Holman..

Lt. Tragg snickered..He hadn't left the room yet.

"No nothing like that." said Yvette, who was offended at what he was reffering.

"Never Kiss and Tell right?" said Edward Holman, smiling and looking Yvette up and down...She was very attractive and he knew what a dog Landon Hughes had been and still was.. He could see that Ms. Yvette was married. But he was certain Yvette and Landon had had something back in the day.

"The Important thing is we are going to get you out of here...As an Attorney you know to dummy up..Not to talk to anybody in here...right?" said Yvette.

"Of course." said Edward Holman.

''Sit tight...You'll hear from us." I said.

"I hope so.I'm looking forward to it." he said ,smiling as he eyed Bee Bee, Sofia and Jade.

"He's a bit of a playa " said Kahlil as we left the station.

"Yeah he is ,isn't he?" said Yvette as we exited..

"You're quite a charmer...You even managed to piss your lawyer off.." said Lt. Tragg, who had witnessed the entire thing and noticed that Yvette had been taken aback by his question and inference.

Edward Holman looked at Lt. Tragg and smirked. "True Love can be beautiful, but it takes time." he said and smiled.

COURTROOM B- TUESDAY NIGHT

It had been a few nights later and we were in Night Court....

''WOW...I didn't expect to be in court for arraignment this soon." said our latest client, Edward Holman.

"We are good...We told you we were going to get you arraigned and released." said Ms. Yvette.

"This is called Night Court." I said.

"I know what it is...I've used it before." said Edward Holman.

"Then why are you surprised?" asked Bee Bee.

''Surprised we know about it." said Sofia.

"Now don't be like that...You guys are kind of young...I didn't expect you to be so savy....butn then again you've got Yvette here as your mentor...And She is very savy..." he said..looking her up and down.

Ms. Yvette ignored him.

Kahlil whispered in her ear...

"Low Key Playa."

Ms. Yvette smiled at him...

"Very Low Key.." she responded...

Jade laughed at the entire exchange....

NIGHT COURT- 9:00 pm

The Judge in this case would not be the Judge in the actual case....He was ironically enough , the same Judge who had presided over Laney Tally's Lawsuit against workplace harrassment at Amalgamated Securities...Now here he was presiding over her arraignment for murder... Same Client, Same Attorneys.. Life was funny that way.

Lt. Tragg was not there... Night court was too low profile for him...No witnesses...No media..and a bunch of Judges and ADA's who were mostly older Judges and ADA's about to retire...

Tonight he was with Judge Kelly Anne, preparing to screw her brains out..

"Arthur.."she cooed.

The ADA that did show up was not going to be the ADA that tried the case...He had only the basic out line of the case at hand... He basically wanted to go home...So he didn't really put up much of a fight.

Ms. Yvette and I crafted an eloquent argument that our client was mis identified by an unreliable witness..A Man known to be an alcoholic and as a fellow officer of the court should be granted reasonable bail or be let out on his own recognizance..

Kahlil argued that Mr. Holman was a noted Attorney who had no prior arrests or legal entanglements.

Sofia and Bee Bee presented three charactor witnesses a piece...Supplied to us by Landon Hughes...who testified to Mr. Holman's sterling charactor..

We hadn't bothered to bring our Bail Bondsman along...As it turned out..We didn't need him..

The Judge released him on his own recognizance.....

Edward Holman clapped his hands...

"You guys are good...You're really good. Landon has left me in some good hands..." he said, smiling...

"Come on...I suspect you guys are hungry...I'll treat you to a snack over at Sam Mothers..." he said.

We had Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches . Corn Beef Specials and Coffees....All paid for by our client, Edward Holman.

We were Hungry and we all chowed down...Eating good hot food when you're hungry can often make you drop your guard..

"Ummmmmmmmm, I've always been partial to the Hot Roast Beef sandwich they serve here..I know Curley's makes a good one...but Sam Mother's tops that...What do you think?" asked Edward Holman.

"I don't know...I haven't had Curley's. But you're right about this one...This Hot Roast Beef, It is delish!!"said Ms. Yvette.

"I'm partial to the Hot Roast Beef Here myself." I said.

"Yeah Me too!" said Bee Bee.

"But Curleys Has the Best Corn Beef Special by far..." said Sofia.

"Since we go there on Couples Night Only, It's been awhile since I've had Curley's Lunch time special." said Kahlil..

"Yeah Me too." said Jade.

The night wore on...After we left Sam Mother's Diner, Yvette turned to Edward...

"Have you got somewhere to stay tonight?" asked Ms. Yvette.

"Yeah I'm goin home...Would you uh like to stay with me?" he asked raffishly...

"I don't think my husband would like that....AND HE HAS A GUN!" said Ms. Yvette.

"Oh " laughed Edward Holman...."Well Good Night then...Thanks again guys for getting me out." he said..

Yvette passed him a business card...

"That's my office address...Be there tomorrow at 10:00 am." she said.

"I wouldn't pass up an invitation from you. Good Night folks." said Edward Holman as he flagged down a cab.. and was off into the night.

We all were home after a night in Night Court.

"That said.... The Prosecution's entire case hinges on the testimony of one man, an old drunken wharf rat named Hanky Peterson, who claims he saw you dump the body into the river.."said Yvette Jones.

"You don't Kiss and Tell....You realize this makes it extremely difficult for us to defend you..You'd better hope that a jury buys your gallantry."said Ms. Yvette.

Virginia, Sofia and Bee Bee looked at each other and smiled.
