Gil Garcetti had brought in a Special Prosecutor from New York to handle this case.. because no one in his office wanted to prosecute one of their own....

He studied the basis of the case

He was also studying the attorneys he'd be facing. He had dossiers of us on his laptop.

"This Case is weak....I need you to recanvass and look at everything...Leave no stone unturned...Do you understand... I don't want any surprises Detective." said Larry Peppers.

"I understand and I'm on it." said Detective James Tragg, cousin of Lt. Tragg..

Today was all hands on deck in our law library... Even Olivia was helping Beverly, Josie and Bresha with the research on this case of like cases...there were few, laws most likely pertaining to a case like this and general laws... 

 

Nelson was next door in the media room looking at potential jurors, their race, age, political views, employment and economic status to determine the right juror for this case.

Olivia was looking at street cam views of the comings and goings in that hotel that night.......

Josie in addition to doing research was busy giving Josh Hoffman updates on the progress of his case.

Bresha was doing her research like the rest.....

Alfreda delivered Foot Long Hoagies to them for lunch...

I spent the morning at the Medical Examiner's office...

I was looking at the body of Valentina Natchios. Someone had done a number on her neck...

"What have you found Hazel?" I asked Dr. Hazel Baylor, Deputy Coroner.

''Well she had sex that night with at least two men...We found semen from two males inside of her body...and on her panties... Some of it is a match for Joshua Hoffman, but then the rest is another man. Get this...We got some DNA off of some skin cells on her neck...it's not Hoffman's DNA...It belongs to the mystery man...We are waiting to get a hit from the DNA Database...I'll give you a heads up but you have to know...I have to call the police first."said Dr. Baylor..

"I understand...Just don't forget me..."I said with a smile..."Thanks Hazel...."I said.

I next went to the Hilton at Penns Landing..

I went to the hotel room....I wanted to find foreign DNA...DNA that I could use to compare to the mystery DNA....The Mystery DNA in The additional semen and saliva and skin cells found on the woman's neck.

''What are you doing here?" came the voice of  Detective James Tragg.

"Probably the same thing you're doing....Recanvassing...looking for additional evidence."I said.

''Evidence of what? Your wife's client strangled that girl...It's open and shut..;..Now I want you to leave my crime scene." said Detective Tragg.

I showed him a piece of paper...It was signed by a Judge...It allowed me to investigate the crime scene as part of the defense.

He ripped it up... "Like I said ,Leave my crime scene or we'll be talking about suspending your license." he said.  He was every bit as arrogant and bone headed as his more famous cousin.

I made a phone call and explained what had happened...

''Who are you calling, your wifey?"he smirked. Actually I was calling his boss, The Deputy Of Operations.

I passed him the phone...

"I would tend to agree." said Rockland. 

 "This is a nice alternative to Curleys."said Yvette, munching on a hot Taco.

"Yes it is...Ummmmmmmmmm these Tacos are good.

"The Fruit and Vegatables are good too!" said Keith Jones

"Yes they are."said Bee Bee.

"Olivia and Beverly's trial begins tomorrow...It's nice that they won't be tipsy.."said Sofia.

"We'll probably be leaving here earlier tonight and all get a good night's sleep..Something we usually don't do on Thursday Nights."said Kahlil.

"You're correct." said Jade, also munching on a Taco.

"DAMN!  They attach themselves to any case, any case that appears to be newsworthy, controversial...Who is the prosecutor?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"They brought in a Special Prosecutor out of New York....

"His name is Larry Peppers...He's a real prick! Garcetti called him in because no one on his staff wanted to prosecute one of their own." said James Tragg.

"Damn,...I hope he is successful...On a night like tonight I'd be in Curleys with my hand up my girls dress, kissing her and swilling down a beer...Instead I'm out here on the pier...Eating crabs with you and preparing to get on the Marine Boat and spend all night on the river...This was Hoffman's fault, he complained to the Deputy of Operations, said I gave him a bad case. He's gettin just what he deserves...I hope they send him up the river."complained Lt. Tragg.

The two men continued eating crabs...
