MONDAY MORNING-

The Commute this Monday Hit different...There was only eight people on the train car that was usually filled with people...

That was because of the huge multi-layered case  that the Wrongful Conviction /Conviction Integrity Unit and The Innocence Project was involved in that required the services of both Olivia's group and Yvette's group...

They were all meeting at Olivia and Beverly's  Office /Duplex today and until Wednesday....

Only Jazzy, Dabnis, Kayla, Ray, Sean , Ms. Virginia  Jetty and Rockland were headed to work....

"The Weekend wasn't so bad....After Brunch at NO ID Bar...We actually got to hang out and help the guys out a bit.."said Jazzy...remembering them all going to NO ID BAR for Saturday Morning Brunch...

and the tasty Mimosas...

"They're actually ahead of the curb...They worked All day Friday....and then Saturday after Brunch....and then we all had dinner  at Sam Mothers Saturday Night." said Dabnis..

"I can't remember the last time we all had dinner in Sam Mothers on a Saturday Afternoon...All 36 of us." laughed Kayla.

''We never did...With that clown Lt. Tragg off in that boat, We can do a lot of things peacefully that we couldn't do before.. He's a menace...See how light life is, without him around? " said Ray.

"I see. We were all so relaxed,So Chill...We could enjoy our food, our conversation wasn't interrupted with his constant whining and complaining and individual insults and then his staring....Such a relief." said Sean.

 "I'll be in the office, alllll by myself today." whispered Virginia in her husband, Jetty's ears.....while subtley rubbing the crotch area of his trousers, which got hard on contact..

TWO HOURS LAZILY CREEPED BY...

"Tomorrow  we'll be at the Prison visiting our clients..That'll be a nice daytrip."said Josie...

"This is like being in school....Going on a trip." said Josie's husband, Paris.

"I never thought we'd make so much progress with this case and so quickly.."said Bresha.

"That's because we are thorough and you all know what you're doin."said her husband, Tony.

"Awwwww you know what you're doing too...You helped us a lot.."said Sofia...

"Yeah, we are grateful to you and Paris.....We need to thank Dabnis and Ray for lending you guys to us." said Bee Bee.

They were mostly using their laptops and looking through case files.

In the room next door.. Nelson, Keith Jones and Kahlil were looking at the Jury Pool and deciding on jurors while mapping out trial strategy...

Echoing his wife- "We've made extraordinary progress....Working Friday and Saturday was a good idea...We are ahead of the game."said Nelson.

"You know...The Public Defenders who worked on these original cases didn't do a bad job...They just got bullied  and weighed down with political and outside pressure.."said Keith Jones..

"Yeah they had good defense...good information...but Nick Fuentes is very persuasive and very overbearing...."said Kahlil.

"I know...We tangled with him and we beat him..There is nobody on this team he's going to bully."said Nelson as the three of them leafed through Case Files..

And in the Conference room....Olivia, Karen, Yvette, Jessica and Chip mulled over the remaining case files.

"Guys...This is incredible...We are just about finished...We got this work done much faster than I thought.."said an exuberant Karen Page.

"Fresh Eyes...Fresh Young Attorneys...It's a winning formula." said Olivia.

"Indeed...This would have been overwhelming for one attorney or even four..but all of us working together...Got the job done in record time..." said Yvette.

"That's why I'm glad you guys are my friends...I can always depend on you."said Jessica, who was running the case along with Karen...

Her husband, Chip sat next to her, admiring her.

THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY NICK FUENTES-

"DAMN IT!!!  SOMETHING IS WRONG....I HAVEN'T SEEN A TRANSMISSION SINCE LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON...IT'S MONDAY!!!STILL NOTHING!!!" screamed Nick Fuentes...

"They must have found it...My operative in the building says that none of them have been to work since Thursday....My Guess is that they are working from a remote location...If I had to take a guess where..I'd say Olivia and Beverly's Office/Duplex.." said Bert Vendenberg..

"Can't you get inside of their office.?" asked Nick Fuentes..

"Their office is swept by professionals two to three times a week..They communicate on Portals and Burner phones so we can't tap them...It's damn near impossible..."said Bert Vandenberg...

"They have to eat..can you slip an operative inside a delivery truck?" asked Nick Fuentes..

"Olivia co-owns a catering company in addition to the Bus service.. Their meals are catered and delivered to them..." said Bert..."Look you've already missed over a week and some time.. My guess is they may only have two more days left... I'm guessing they'll reappear around Wednesday or Thursday...

You'd better be think ing about ,do they have a witness or something that may hurt you and reverse these decisions?" said Bert.

"Yesss... I'd better be looking that way." he said.

Natalie, Brooke and David were on their way to the Prison to see their clients..

"You really push this car Brookie." said Natalie to her best friend..

"Ha Ha.. you wanna drive on our way back?" she asked.

"Can I?  You're the best.." said Natalie..

David smiled. He was there when they met...They had started a day apart. Brooke had started first....and Natalie started the next day...They were both the same age...Both Philly Girls...Both had went to All Girl High Schools and both had ties to the Washington D.C. Legal Scene...They cliqued immediately and shared a desk...They went to lunch together, went shopping together and soon began sharing cases...They made one heck of a team.. He had nicknamed them ,"Batman and Robin." He like everyone else was shocked to find out that Brooke had been married to and divorced from a Black man...All of the White Male attorneys were falling over themselves to get next to Brooke and she wasn't giving them the time of day...She dated one Black Attorney in  the office ,for a short while... The Brothers were all trying to get next to Natalie.. He didn't feel he had a chance in hell.. He sat by himself, Ate lunch by himself and only occasionally shared small talk with Brooke and Natalie about a case. Outside of that...He was invisible to them both.. And look at him today...Married to Natalie and Brooke, remarried to her first husband..and the three of them, great friends and working together.Look at how life changes things, he thought.

They stopped by Cakeman Raven's Bakery and brought Bagels, Dougnuts, Coffee and Pastries... They had already picked up sandwiches...

"Go Ahead...Take the wheel...Drive us the rest of the way..."said Brooke.

"I gotta get me another car....We ride the train to work and Olivia transports us everywhere on those buses...I never see a need to drive...I guess none of us does.."said Natalie, smiling as she took the wheel..

''Always nice to have wheels...We might want to go out to dinner alone or uh make out at lovers lane.."said David.

"Do you ever have a thought about me that's not sexual?" asked Natalie, smiling devilishly..

"Yes...Quite a few..."said David with a straight face.,..

"LIAR!" said Natalie....

"LIAR!" both Natalie and Brooke said in Unison...  All three laughed..

They drove to the Men's Correctional Center....

Upon arriving at the Correctional Center...They found old nemesis.  Bill "Bull" Bailey at check out.

Once a highly decorated detective on the Philadelphia Police Force, A Lieutenant of Homicide before Lt. Tragg came along...Then a Federal Investigator at the U.S. Attorney's Office...Now a disgraced  ex Federal Investigator who just missed going to prison for placing evidence at a crime scene and lying about it...Now surviving with his police pension and a job at the Philadelphia Corrections Bureau as a check out man.... He was at the Women's correctional facility known as Valhalla..Now he was here at the Men's correctional facility just temporary due to staffing shortage.

Seeing Brooke, a young ADA , he was quite close to gave him an immediate erection....

Seeing her side kick, Natalie, whom he despised had the opposite effect...He didn't like Natalie..She had a smart mouth, he thought..and too much of an influence on Brooke. He blamed her for Brooke marrying a Black man, even though Brooke was married and divorced before she even met Natalie.

and seeing Natalie's husband David, equally repelled him...He didn't know him, but he just didn't like him...

He only adressed Brooke-

"Brooke, what brings you here?" he asked.

"I'm seeing some clients.. We-We are seeing some clients." she said.

"Those 9 new clients that just got transferred here from State Prison? Awwwwwww Brooke, why are you bringing up these old closed cases?" he asked.

"Maybe because they weren't closed correctly and these 9 young men have been sitting in prison for 5 years for something they didn't do."said Natalie,,

"I asked Brooke, I don't recall asking you.....You know ,that has always been your problem...Speaking out of term..."said Bull Bailey...

"OHHHH GEEE, AH SORRY MASSA, LIL OLE ME SHOULDA JUST STAYED IN HER PLACE!" said Natalie sarcastically... Causing other Black people around them within earshot to guffaw with laughter...

"Come on Nat, let's go!"said David, who didn't like where this was going..

"Come on Girlfriend....We've got clients to see." said Brooke who was holding a food tray.....

Bull Bailey was livid!

"SMART ASS BITCH!" he grumbled as they left....

They met with their clients in a nice clean visiting room..

after having been fed prison food for 5 long years, the 9 guys were happy to have Cakeman Raven's Warm Bagels with Cream Cheese and Jelly...Doughnuts , Hot Coffee and Pastries as well as real Hoagies and Cheesesteaks...

Donnie Ray and Jade stopped by and took DNA samples from all 9 ( Urine, semen, saliva, Blood) and prepared to deliver it to the Independent  Goddard DNA Laboratories, THE FBI Lab in Quantico and our own Medical Examiners Office...

The Public Defenders in the previous cases had demanded DNA be compared with the semen found in the murdered woman's body, in her panties and on her bra...It was never done...Such was the furor to get a conviction in the case... Now their DNA would be compared against the DNA from the original case for the first time...

All in All , today was a good visit..

The 9 men were appreciative and told that they would be receiving a visit from the rest of their legal team tomorrow..They asked if they would be bringing food.. They were told, yes... Some of them had letters they wanted sent to relatives and Baby Mamas.. They all agreed to do that for them too!

Bull Bailey was still there when Brooke, Donnie Ray, Jade, Natalie and her husband, David were leaving... He didn't know the Asian lady...but he recognized Donnie Ray...Olivia Bennett-Alexander's husband and investigator...He wondered if she and her niece were somehow involved in this case.. His old pal, Artie Tragg was right about them , they attached themselves to every controversial case...

Why he wondered did Brooke align herself with such a group? He wondered...

''Donnie Ray...I think we are about done...We are ready to take this case to trial ,just as soon as a Judge is picked and we get a date."said Brooke..

"I was talking to my wife earlier...She seems to feel the same way...She said you all made great progress..Working Friday and Saturday and Today was great....She said You're ahead of the curve." said Donnie Ray..

"We deliver this DNA and get results and we are ready to go." said Jade.

"Tomorrow, the rest of the gang is coming up....They'll feel so good...They looked so hopeful.. " said Natalie...

"Yeah they did.."said her husband, David, hugging her and kissing her on the cheek..

Bull Bailey was sick on his stomach...He longed to talk to Brooke by herself..

It was the end of a wildly successful day..

Everyone decided to eat dinner  in The Bridge Building

"Jade and I dropped the DNA Samples off ,along with the DNA from the previous trial... Once we get the results back...We'll be ready for re-trial." said Donnie Ray.

"That's Great...Everybody worked really hard and we are way ahead of where we projected we would be."said Olivia.

"Tomorrow when we go to visit the guys...It'll be like a school field trip."laughed Beverly...

''A school field trip to the local men's prison...Boyyy field trips were never this interesting when I was in school."laughed Nelson.

''Well it'll be a nice bus ride.."said Josie..

"Yeah and we can bring them some good grub, which I know after 5 years of eating prison food they will welcome."said Paris.

"They always do and are so grateful." said Bresha..

"Oh for sure." said her husband, Tony...

"It'll be nice getting out, going for a ride."laughed Yvette.

"Lawyers life, where a visit to prison is considered a field trip.."laughed Keith Jones..

"Yeah, how about that?" said Bee Bee, who was looking forward to going..

"And I suppose tomorrow wraps up our work..we'll be done."said Sofia.

"Yeah, we'll all be back on Wednesday...

"And we'll just be waiting for the DNA results and for them to get a Judge and we can go to trial." said Jade.

"Glad to see you guys here...Can't wait until Wednesday , when everything returns to normal...Kinda sorta."said Virginia.

"Yeah." laughed Jetty... ''How was you kids day today??." he asked Brooke, Natalie and David.

"Very Nice...We enjoyed the ride and the visit...They were so glad for the visit and the food.."said Brooke.

"Oh Of course they would be, having been in State Prisons for 5 years..I understand they weren't all in the same prisons...It's the first time they've all been together in 5 years...."said Sean.

"Yeah and they aren't all in the same cell block either...So today was a great reunion and a great chance to talk about their innocence and their alibi's and to discuss their individual cases with us."said Natalie.

"Believe it or not...It was an enjoyable visit..."said David.

"You all did good work...I'm proud of all of you and thankful for all of the help we got.."said Karen Page.

" A Round of Applause for Olivia, Donnie Ray, Beverly, Nelson, Josie, Bresha, Ms. Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia,Kahlil and Jade and all of the help they gave us...You too Ms. Virginia." said Jessica.

"And let's not forget, Tony and Paris too!" said her husband Chip..

As Karen, Jessica, Chip and Brooke, Natalie and David stood and applauded them...

"Hey , what did we miss?" asked Dabnis, who was just coming over with a plate of food..

"Ohhhh, I missed all of you guys...So glad to see you here." said Jazzy.

"I didn't expect to see you guys until at least Wednesday..."said Ray...

"We'll all be back Wednesday...We are practically done... After tomorrow, we're waiting for DNA analysis reports and for them to find a Judge and courtroom for trial...Everything is happening very fast." said Natalie.

''Well good for you guys...Good luck to you."said Kayla.

THE OFFICE OF NICK FUENTES, ATTORNEY AT LAW-

"One of my operatives told me that three of them, Brooke Marks, Natalie Charles and David Charles went to the prison and met with the defendents... The rest were indeed at Olivia and Beverly's Office/Duplex working... It appears they have all broke for the day and headed back to the Bridge Building for dinner..." said Bert Vandenberg...

"They're more than likely ready for re-trials...I'm putting together a team to take them down..." said Nick Fuentes... I've looked over the case files...It's just too much for me...My team will have to get ready and get ready fast....They've got a two week head start on me.." said Nick Fuentes... "Thank you for all of your work Bert...Check your account...You'll be paid sufficiently.." said Nick.

"You're welcome Nick.."said Bert as he left his office.

IV-

NIGHTFALL CAME-

Everyone was home...

Brooke and Sean were alone at last..

"I know you've read the papers....Your girl, Susan Waters  attempted Suicide over the weekend... She overdosed on sleeping pills...but they pumped her stomach...She's alright....She's probably being discharged tomorrow....Those photos drove her over the edge...She got plastered somewhere else and went to Curleys where she poured a pitcher of beer all over her former gal pal, Kate Stassen and Savoy Brown... Savoy Brown decked her and Curley tossed all three of them out of the bar and told susan not to come back!  Ya Happy now?" said Bert Vandenberg.. "You Got Your Revenge!" he said.

Lt. Tragg bit into his burger...

"YES AND WHAT SWEET REVENGE IT WAS...To see her humiliated and heartbroken and thrown out of a bar..I only regret ,not being there to see it!" he laughed ruefully....

"Artie, the girl almost killed herself..An alert girl that lived on the floor with her ,found her...If not for her calling 911 when she found her...Susan Waters would have died...Was what she did to you...bad mouthing you on Television worth her life Artie? Was it worth all of that?? There's Revenge and then there is sickness....She almost died...I didn't sign up for that...Apparently, she loved this girl a lot, a whole lot...and you throwing gas on the fire of a relationship that was already volatile drove this girl to the edge of depression...She tried to kill herself. You got your revenge Artie...but was it worth this?" asked Bert Vandenberg...

He finished his burger and his beer and tossed a few dollars on the table..

"Good Night Artie...I hope you can look yourself in the mirror." he said as he got up and walked out of the bar. His job with Lt. Tragg was over too!  He wasn't going to follow or photograph Susan Waters any more...or Kate Stassen.. No more photos....

Lt. Tragg felt not one iota of guilt.. He found the entire thing funny.He sat there smirking and laughing...
