"Relax...I've got an operative in the Bridge Building, where most of them work....I know that they've rented out their huge conference room in the building and they are meeting there... They have the meals delivered to them there and they are there from 8:30 until 5:00 when they all go home...We've got that place wired for sound and video...We can listen and see every thing they are doing..."said Bert Vandenberg...

"Good, they are not going to foil me again." said Nick Fuentes.

 

 II-

A DAY LATER-

After eating breakfast in The Cafeteria.. 

Everyone set up in the Conference room.  Olivia and her team had arrived by now and had set up on their end..

Beverly and Nelson and Josie...and her her husband, Paris, now a Para-legal, helping them for the first time.. Bresha and her attorney husband, Tony, assisting them also for the first time on a case...The girls, Josie and Bresha loved having their husbands assisting them...Donnie Ray was there....and Alfreda was along to co-ordinate the delivery of the food.. With Lt. Tragg away, they didn't have to worry about their vehicle being bugged and they drove in and parked in the indoor parking  garage. They brought the case files with them and placed them on the table..

Seated near them was Yvette's group from upstairs.. Yvette, Keith Jones, Beatrice Jones, his wife, Sofia Garcia-Ahmed, and her husband,Kahlil, and Ms. Jade.. Yvette's team and Olivia's team not only mirrored each other..but had worked together many times before on cases...

Their office manager, Virginia Shaw Dukes was also present to help with facilitation on their end..

ADA Karen Page was running the show...along with Jessica Sanchez-Burrows ,her husband, Charles "Chip" Burrows and staff attorneys, Brooke Marks, Natalie Charles and her husband, David Charles.

They were dissecting nine separate cases concerning a crime that occurred 5 years ago in which a young woman ,who was jogging in the crowded park was raped and strangled.... These 9 people were roped in and accused and convicted of Murder and Rape and sentenced to life...

There was strong evidence that the wrong people may have been arrested and convicted after a three week show trial. There had been an outcry from the NAACP, Le Raza and The National Action Network but all to no avail...Now, these attorneys were going to make sure that these nine young men not be forgotten.

There was boxes of files..

Olivia and her team had three boxes of files ,dealing with three defendents.. who were 18 and 19 at the time of their arrests...The youngest of the defendents.

Yvette and her team had three boxes of case files.. Their three clients were also young...19 and 20 when arrested.. Two were Latino and one was African American.....They didn't even know each other at the time of their arrests..

These Case files contained Trial Transcripts, Autopsy reports. Crime Scene photos..and the names and addresses of witnesses..

The last three boxes of case files went to Brooke, Natalie, David, Jessica and Chip.. They had the three oldest clients....The oldest was 26 at the time of his arrest...He was the one, who had become a jailhouse lawyer and filed briefs in his defense and called on the INNOCENCE PROJECT for help... He brought attention to his eight other defendents... His two co-defendents were also 26 and 25 respectively...

Brooke, Natalie, David, Jessica and Chip had successfully gotten all of their convictions overturned and new trials ordered and had contacted Olivia, Beverly and their team and Yvette Jones-Lockwood and her team from the private sector to help out.. Today was their fourth joint meeting.

These nine defendants were defended mostly by Public defenders, overworked, underpaid, who advised some of them to plead out... When it came time for sentencing...they all wound up with life sentences..

But now... they had a Dream team of Attorneys looking into their cases.. Private Attorneys like Olivia and Beverly's team and of course, McCluskey/Cozen/Connor and Pratt's team of Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee,Sofia and Kahlil.. The Innocence Project's best, Jessica and Chip and of course the Staff Attorneys of the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit.

Karen smiled as Katey Stassen walked in with a cup of coffee..

''Well Good Morning everybody..."she said..  She was the only attorney from the original trial who was helping out...She had always felt as though some if not all of these young men had been railroaded.

A Powerful Micro-Video Camera placed on the ceiling directly facing them was recording the entire meeting... Giving whoever was on the other end..perfect sound and perfect video of the entire  session...What was said, who said what and who was in attendance..

Both Nelson and David noticed a brief flash from out of the corner of their eye..

THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY NICK FUENTES-

Nick Fuentes was live streaming the entire thing from his office thanks to Bert Vandenberg, the Private Investigator who was helping him...

"This is great,,,I can hear and see everything and they have no Idea...No Idea at all ..hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"said Nick Fuentes..

Bert Vandenberg stared at him, the same way he had stared at Lt. Tragg...

"I've got to get a better class of client." he thought to himself.

THE OFFICE OF SUSAN WATERS, ATTORNEY AT LAW-

Susan Waters opened the door of her office There was an envelope with her name typed on it and nothing else..

She opened it up... There were photos of Katey and some black chick she didn't know..

They were kissing and canoodling 

AT AQUA BAR-

But there was more..Perhaps the most shocking...

She was with her old boyfriend...Attorney Hal Jenkins, the one she swore she'd never go back to, the one who turned her off men.....

Apparently she'd gotten over it...There was photos of them kissing..

"Donnie Ray, Jade...We've been compromised...There is a small micro-camera in our conference room...I don't know how long it's been there...but I saw it out of the corner of my eye...I would have missed it...but it flashed for some reason..."said David Charles.

''Same Here..It flashed and I just caught it out of the side of my eye for a brief second.."said Nelson.

''Whoever is watching and listening hasn't heard anything much in these four days...but next week when we start making trial strategy and planning on visits...will be a different situation.."said Donnie Ray..

"Take us to it." said Jade.

They did and Donnie Ray found it and disabled it..

He looked at it...

"This isn't cheap...The Feds use this..It must have malfunctioned somehow..." he said and placed it on the floor and smashed it with his foot.

"Now ....It's Malfunctioned for good!" said Donnie Ray.

"Starting tomorrow we operate from your house...The records will be safe and since your place is routinely swept...There will be no chance for any further compromise of information.."said Jade..

CURLEYS BAR- THURSDAY NIGHT- HOURS LATER-

It was Couples Night...Where each couple got two drinks of choice free for every two drinks they bought..

"It's sure going to be lonely,starting tomorrow and the next few days....Everybody is going to be at Olivia and Beverly working on that case."said Jazzy...

"Yeah, it'll be the four of us..." said Dabnis.

"Well,Next Thursday, Everybody will be back...Olivia told me one team will pay a visit to the prison to see their clients on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while the rest will be at her house, working on the case."said Kayla..

"I heard they found a bug in the conference room."said Ray.

"Yeah we did and we squashed that bug..." said Jessica.

"At Any rate, they didn't hear or see too  much...The important stuff will be discussed in secret next week.."said Chip.

"That's when we go over trial strategy and really look at the evidence.." said Josie.

"This is exciting."said Paris.

"He sounds like me when I was interning...You excited babe?" asked Bresha...

"Yeah but it has nothing to do with the case."said Tony raffishly.....

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Tony, you are so badddd!"laughed Beverly...gently removing her husband's hands from under her skirt, and smiling at him....

"Bad is good sometimes ." joked Nelson.

"Our place is more secure...It gets swept...Which it will be over the weekend...We can secure the case files in our safe and everybody can work secure in the knowledge that Big Brother or in this case, Nick Fuentes isn't watching and listening."said Olivia.

"The Fact that he's watching and listening tells me he's scared...He needs a one up on the present case..He knows we are the attorneys who can bring it.. He doesn't want yet another Black mark against him."said Donnie Ray.

"I called the caterer...The food will be there...everyday.." said Alfreda.

"Shame I have to go to work...Sounds like fun."laughed Rockland.

"Fun? that's a lot of work, sifting through 9 seperate cases..."said Zoey.

"Olivia and Beverly will make it as bearable as possible.  I know them." said Lem.

"Olivia's place is more secure...It gets swept...Which it will be over the weekend...She told me. We can secure the case files in her safe and everybody can work secure in the knowledge that Big Brother or in this case, Nick Fuentes isn't watching and listening."said Yvette.

"That's good..This will almost be like a vacation...You'll be practically working from home." said Gary...

"Poor Virginia...She'll still have to go into the office."said Bee Bee.

"She'll be working half days though."said Keith.

"Jetty will be there to keep her company." said Sofia.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"laughed Kahlil.

"Donnie Ray and I will be out on the street, doing the leg work." said Jade.

"With Lt. Tragg at sea, you can eat at Sam Mother's with me."said her husband, Danny...

"Wow...I'm going to miss you guys next week..."said Sean..

"Awwwwwwwww I'm gonna miss you too baby...but we'll be back on Thursday..."said Brooke..

"I guess this weekend we are all just chillin huh?"said Natalie..

"Well yeah....It's supposed to rain anyway....We'll probably go to Brunch at No ID and then come on home...I don't want to go anywhere anyway.."said David.

Katey and Savoy were also here tonight...Sitting at a table for two like the rest of us.. Katey had been immensely helpful to us, the last two days with her insight on the case..

Curley was happy.....With Lt. Tragg on the Marine Boat, He wasn't here to harass his good paying customers.. That meant no loud arguments, no fights...Just people drinking and talking and laughing and peace... or so he thought..Tonight he was going to find that Lt. Tragg wasn't the only hell raiser..

Attorney Susan Waters walked in...She was plastered....And she had been crying...She saw Katey sitting with Savoy and walked over to them both..

"HELLO WHORE!" she bellowed...

Everyone within earshot got quiet and turned...

''Susan, you've been drinking.."said Kate...

"WOW!  I'LL BET YOU WERE NUMBER ONE IN YOUR CLASS HUH?   SO THIS IS YOUR NEW BITCH HUH?  BITCH DID YOU KNOW SHE'S A WHORE AND THAT SHE'S BEEN STEPPIN OUT ON YOU WITH A MAN!!! HER Ex-BOYFRIEND??? " asked Susan..

"I don't know you and don't call me out of my name." said Savoy...

"YOU GIRLS NEED TO COOL OFF!" said Susan who dumped an entire pitcher of beer on both of them..

"OHHHHHHH MY GODDDD!" screamed Kate, beer, all in her hair..

Savoy socked Kate in her jaw.... Kate fell to the floor, out for the count....

"ALRIGHTTTT!! ALRIGHT!!!! OUTTTTTTTT! ALL THREE OF YOU!! GET OUTTT!!!"screamed Curley....

"AWWWWWWWW SUKI SUKI NOWWW!" said Beverly, Kayla, Jazzie and Natalie, bringing back memories of their teen aged years at Girls High...

Bee Bee and Sofia, also gasped and then laughed...

"Girlfreind has a punch!" said Bee Bee..

"She sure does!" said Sofia.

"I swear man, Never a dull moment in this bar.."said Tony...

"Dude ,you aint never lied."said Ray.

"I almost feel sorry for that Troll."said Olivia..

Brooke laughed..... "Did you hate me and Natalie like that when we were going up against you guys in court.?" she asked.

"No..We never did..We admired you both and you both were pleasant and respectful...We always liked you two.."said Yvette.

Curley gave Susan some water and then walked her out of the bar..

"I don't want to see you in here again...You hear?' he said.

Now she was crying profusely as she left the bar...

AFTER MIDNIGHT-

At home....Natalie and David were mellowing out.

"This has been some week hasn't it? This huge case....Finding out our conference room was bugged..Moving the case to another location, which we were going to do anyway...and then tonight , a girl fight.." said Natalie.

''Awwwww that was no girl fight...I've seen fights where blouses have been ripped open, bras pulled off, weaves ruined...Tonight that was nothing.." said David.

''Did that fight tonight turn you on?? Just a little bit?" asked Natalie, laughing.

"No but I am turned on....More than a little." said  David..

"Not Necessarily!  When you did tell me ,I didn't act like that did I?"she said in her defense..

"Well maybe you secretly liked me too then." he said.

"No, I was horny...and so were you and you came home with me and gave me the best sex of my life..." she said.

"Yeah, that probably was it..." he said.

They both laughed.....

They continued kissing passionately....

"David, I was so glad you weren't a one night stand." said Natalie..

"No wayyyyyy I knew I wanted more of this."said David..

"I know."laughed Natalie..

"SOMETHING IS WRONG!!! MY SCREEN IS BLACK!!" yelled Attorney Nick Fuentes..

Looking at his blank screen on his laptop..

"That's impossible...No way they could have found it...That was the Highest priced Micro camera on the Market...The Feds use it... My operative is sure he placed it where they could never find it.."said Bert...
