DAYBREAK-

Tyrell's apartment..

When he woke up...His bed was empty....He walked out into his hallway and he saw Renee looking out of the window..

"I couldn't sleep....So I was was up looking out the window...You have a better view than I do." she said with a smile..

We were finishing an early breakfast this morning at our Office/Duplex..

We had all pitched in and helped wash the dishes and put everything away..

"Today is a special day... Today is the preliminary hearing for Tyrell....our former client.. His first big case as an Attorney...we are going to watch him work today."said Olivia.

"I'm so excited...It's going to be kind of weird...I'm so used to him being a bailiff...It's going to be strange seeing him as an attorney."said Bresha.

"I'm proud of him...All of his hard work paid off...It's always good to see someone advance."said Beverly...

"He sat in that courtroom and watched hundreds of trials as a bailiff, read hundreds of verdicts..I'm sure he got good first hand training in the law before he ever set foot in law school."said Nelson.

"Kind of like me...being with you guys so long before I went to law school." said Josie.

"Yes Josie, just like you." I said, smiling..

"Vettie and her gang are going to meet us there.. We can take them back on the bus."said Olivia. 

II-

Court was let's say, very interesting....

First off Judge Jane Lynch, who had presided over at least two of our trials was the presiding Judge today....

"Good Morning Attorneys...we are going to change things a bit...Due to courtroom overcrowding of cases , and until further notice we are going to bypass a preliminary hearing...We know that a crime, a henious crime has been committed so we are going to go straight to trial.. We will have Jury selection the day after tomorrow...I'll be out the next day...So Friday , we will begin with trial." said Judge Lynne... We will start today with introductions.."she said.

"Tyrell Jones, Attorney at Law for the defense your honor." said Tyrell ,standing up with his client, Brian Jarvis..

A Milk delivery man accused of murder and robbery....

Both Assistant District Attorney Bruce Green and Lt. Tragg were astonished... Brian Jarvis was initially represented by a Public Defender...a very green Public Defender....While locked up, someone in his family contacted Cochran and Grace law firm and Tyrell, their newest (and cheapest) attorney was assigned to the case... The looks on their faces was priceless...

"And May I add that Mr. Jones has been a bailiff in this courtroom for many years...He is now an attorney and practicing his first case here in my courtroom...I am so proud..." said Judge Lynee.

The other Baillifs and court clerks all stood up and clapped for Tyrell... and in the visitors section, standing and clapping were us, Olivia, myself, Donnie Ray Alexander, Beverly, Nelson, Josie , Bresha  and even Alfreda, all standing, clapping and smiling...

Standing with us was Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil ,Jade and Virginia...

also standing and clapping...We were all happy for him and had all come to see him practice his first case..

Also with us was David and Natalie Charles..

They also came to see him and wish him well..

"Holy Crap! " said Lt. Tragg, seeing "His Favorite People", the attorneys who made his life a living hell sitting in the visitors section...

Fortunately for him...None of us would be involved in the case...We just came to watch...

''Uh Assistant District Attorney Bruce Green for the prosecution your honor..." he said.. 

Crickets...No one clapped or cheered for him or stood up... He was still widely suspected of having had his wife murdered and of framing an innocent man, his wife's lover, Attorney Tyrell Jones for the crime..

There wasn't enough evidence to charge him...but he was basically shunned by most people in the court system.

Yes, this was going to be a very interesting trial...

''Alright... Outstanding! Outstanding....Day after Tomorrow we will have jury selection...Be here at 10:00 AM, Be on time and be ready for jury selection... Have a nice afternoon." said the Judge Lynne, striking her gavel and dismissing us.

"Crap!  I don't like all of those people even being in the visitors section...I know they're going to interfere."said Lt. Tragg...

"No they're not...If they were going to be co-counsel they would have had to declare themselves today at this hearing and none of them did.  They're just here to support him....He was  a bailiff in many of their trials and Olivia and Beverly did represent him last..."stated Bruce Green...

He was both hungry and horny...He seemed to be obsessed with Renee Cantrell lately...He called her again..

In a tense negotiation in their conference room..

''She thought she might see you there Renee." said Brooke.

"I would have gone if I hadn't had this litigation in front of me...Anyway...It's over and I can see him the rest of the time, unless something else comes up.."said Renee.   "I don't know if it's uh too early to say this...but uh Tyrell and I are uh kind of uh seeing each other...We probably should keep it on the low in the office huh?" said Renee.

"Maybe in your office, but around here, it's all the way live... In Yvette's Office, Keith and Bee Bee are married, Sofia and Kahlil are married and in my office, Natalie and David are married,...

And look at Jessica and Chip...They're married and work most of their cases together..

and even though they work on different floors in different offices..

Jazzy and Dabnis and Kayla and Ray over at that next table are married..  So it can work out as long as the work gets done... Just be cool with the PDA." said ADA Karen Page..

Just then Brooke's husband, Sean walked in...He greeted her as he always did..

"Hi Vanilla." he said.

"Chocolate Daddy." she said.

and they kissed passionately...

"Ahem! As I was saying..." said Karen....laughing...

"Mind if we join you guys?" said Tony Billips , who with Paris were just coming in...

"Hi Renee, Olivia and her crew and Yvette and her crew are at the courthouse.." said Paris.

"I hear!  That looks like the place to be.."laughed Renee.

"You look like you have some time." said Karen ,looking at her watch...If you make all of the traffic lights... You might catch him as he's leaving..Them too!"said Karen..

"I think I will head that way..Thanks...Nice seeing you guys." said Renee as she left.

We were all at Sam Mothers for breakfast....

"I am so proud of you....You're a full fledged lawyer now.."said Olivia, hugging Tyrell..

"Yeah everything is going good for me... It may be a little early to say, but uh...I think I have a new girlfriend and she's single..." laughed Tyrell..

"Well that's a relief.." I said..which was met by raucous laughter..

"I think I know who it is."laughed Beverly..

"I do too!" said Josie...

"It's Renee isn't it?   You can't fool us...You guys met in San Francisco, got real chummy...Hook up again in Philly and she gets you a job at her firm...and we saw you two the other night at Jake's, uh huh!" said Bresha...

"Nothing gets by you girls.."laughed Tyrell...

''Believe me, Nothing.."laughed Nelson...

"UMMMMMM UMMMMPH!" groaned Alfreda, laughing and shaking her head.

"You ought to let Olivia and Beverly help you with your case... As you know they have a University over there..a huge law library and a media room with a breakdown on jurors...They helped me immensely."said David Charles..

"Best two weeks of my life.." whispered David's wife, Natalie, then his girlfriend..

"I remember...I was the bailiff on that case that you guys ran.... It was picture perfect..." said Tyrell.

''We'd love to help you the same way we helped David.. You stayed with us before.. Our Sub-basement apartment is always available for you...and...Renee can stay too.. Oh Speak of the devil, there she is."said Olivia.

"This is getting to be a thing, us running into each other...Hi Liv, Donnie Ray, Beverly, Josie, Bresha...I just saw your husbands Josie, Bresha at the Bridge Building where I was most of the morning involved in a litigation.." said Renee.

"Heyyyy Renee"said Yvette...

"Hey Girl!" said Virginia..

"Hey Guys...Uh I'm sorry I missed my baby...I -I mean my friend's first court date...I had a er uh Litigation in your building..." said Renee, who realized she had let something slip that she didn't mean to let slip..

"We know the deal Renee, we saw you two leaving Jake's Hot Dog stand in your car the other night.we all were arriving as you two were leaving."said Bee Bee.

"At Midnight...we knew you were more than just two colleauges..."said Sofia..

"Nothing gets by our girls."said Keith Jones..

"Nothing!" added Kahlil..

Jade just laughed...

"Oh!" said  Renee, who was blushing and very embarrassed..

''Renee, pack an overnite bag, pack for a few days...We've already talked to Tyrell and he's stayed with us before...when he was on trial for murder.. We have a finished sub-basement apartment you two can stay in while we prepare him for his trial..It's carpeted, has a 48 inch TV with cable and streaming..There is a chest of drawers and a shower and bathroom... You both are welcome to stay with us.." said Olivia.

''Well, Well okay.." said Renee..

"You can park your cars behind our place...Our garages are full infortunately..." I said.

"That's okay...That's just fine." said Tyrell.. "here comes our food..

We had a big long table that seated all 18 of us...We were eating and laughing and talking until of course, THEY ARRIVED, the miserable two! Lt. Tragg and ADA Bruce Green...

ADA Bruce Green was surprised to see Renee Cantrell eating with all of these people...he wasn't even aware that she knew them, but a lot of lawyers traveled in the same circles.

Lt. Tragg walked over to our table ,looked at us all eating and bellowed..

"Sooooooooooo Mr. Jones..Are you going to be a man and try your own case or are you going to swing on Olivia and Beverly's bra straps?  Or will it be Yvette or both?" he sneered..

''Whatever I do, I'm going to win this case..You got the wrong guy, but then that's a thing with you isn't it?"said Tyrell..

Natalie and Beverly laughed...Just like they had in 9th Grade music class when the music teacher tried to sing and couldn't sing...

"DID I SAY SOMETHING FUNNY?" snarled Lt. Tragg..

''Everything you say is funny."said Natalie, not the least bit intimidated..

Which caused Beverly, Josie and Renee to explode in laughter.

The rest of the table totally ignored him and continued to eat and talk amongst themselves..

Too thin skinned to take being laughed at and ignored by an entire table of people, Lt. Tragg angrilly stormed off and headed to the counter..

"Renee I must have called you 40 times and left messages and there were no answers." said Bruce Green.

"You called me 43 times and left 27 messages to be exact..but who's counting..I've been busy...Like you I'm an attorney..."said Renee.

"Look ,come over to this table with me...We should talk about our upcoming date..."said Bruce Green.

"I didn't agree to any upcoming date with you...Now if you don't mind... I'm eating breakfast with my friends.." she said.

"LOOK, I'M NOT GOING TO ASK YOU AGAIN!" he bellowed.

"Good! So Don't!" she said softly and turned away from him and continued eating, drinking coffee and talking to her friends..

After we finished eating and paid our bills, all of which made Sam Mother very happy..We all departed in one of our buses...We dropped Yvette,Keith,Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil,Jade, Virginia. Natalie and David back off at the Bridge Building..and headed home..

That night we all had dinner at our house....

"Olivia, everything was delicious...Thank You.."said Tyrell Jones, who would be staying with us for a second time and this time with a guest.

"Olivia,,,You and Alfreda and your husband are the very best cooks...Everything was great...I can't thank you again."said Renee.

"Now let's get your things down to the sub-basement... Tyrell's are already there."said Alfreda.

"Beverly or Nelson will bring you clean sheets and pillow cases." said Olivia.

"Both of your cars are parked behind our home.."I said.

"We know your boss...She said it's alright if you work remotely while you're here.." said Beverly..

''We've got a place where you can hook up your laptop and work in private.."said Nelson..

''We don't make too much noise." laughed Josie.

"You've got a great set up here."said Paris with a smile..

"We hope you both will be comfortable."said Josie.

"I've got a feeling they will both be very comfortable here." Tony whispered to Rockland..

Rockland smiled wryly..."I'm sure they will.." he said, remembering how many times he and Alfreda shared that bed in the sub-basement and the pleasure they had in it.

Nightfall Came!

Tyrell and Renee were getting ready to bed down in our sub-basement..

"Tyrell? Are We? Are We like Boyfriend and girlfriend now?? This all happened so fast and I feel like we are too old to be asking this question."said Renee..

Her phone was vibrating something fierce.....

It was ADA Bruce Green, he was calling again....She didn't answer...

She turned her phone off, disabled the GPS and put it on the charger... Her business phone, she simply disabled the GPS and put it on vibrate....As she suspected...He called that next..

Tyrell turned his phone off and put it on the charger..

"Now, where were we?" asked Tyrell.

"You were kissing me and I was about to take my clothes off." she said.
