SATURDAY- Olivia and Beverly's Office Duplex-

Boxes containing the Trial Transcripts from both of Condemned  Prisoner Rahim Muhhamad's trials, All Four State Appellate Court Appeals,  A Failed State Supreme Court Appeal, Crime Scene Reports, Crime Scene Photos, Autopsy Reports were now in the conference room..

Fresh Fruit and water was on the table, along with  a catered breakfast...

And a condiment tray,  a tray of cold cuts and cheeses, Mayo, Mustard and hard rolls for sandwiches...
 

and Several Thermos's of hot coffee...

Alexa was hooked up to speakers and playing soft ,slow music... This was a super comfortable enviroment..

Ms. Yvette adressed all of the legal minds gathered in the conference room...

"This is Rahim Muhhamad... he is sentenced to die in three weeks from Thursday Night at midnight ,unless we can save him... he was convicted of killing a cop's wife, Nora Daniels 12 years ago... she was the wife of now retired Detective, Jack Daniels.

The woman was stabbed to death with knives used by his catering company...He was alleged to have been having an affair with him, which he repeatedly denied.. A pair of her panties was found in his apartment...He has no idea how they got there...He says she was never in his home.

He has three children... His Daughter, who has an MBA from PENN...and his two sons who continue to run his catering business. Like their father, they are graduates of the Philadelphia Culinary Institute..

The State has no Fingerprints or other DNA or forensic evidence ..All they have is a murder weapon, which did have his prints on it..because it was taken from his shop and admittingly was used by him and a second pair of fingerprints, never looked into... that indicate, another person at the scene, a man missing two fingers on his left hand...a pinky and a ring finger..

Despite these discrepancies..He was convicted twice by a very good ADA...the late Joshua Washington..

One of the Case Detectives, The primary is in fact himself in prison, serving life for Washington's murder, this man,

Former Homicide Detective , Dominick Evans,currently at Stanga State Prison..

His partner, a man we all know and love, Then Sgt. Now Lieutenant Arthur Tragg-

With his photo shown, there was a wave of loud raucous laughter..

''Well that settles it...If He's involved, this man must be innocent." said Gary, which was met by more, loud laughter..

"Garrrrrrrrrrry" said his wife,Kayla.

This room was filled with Defense Attorneys, A Judge and ADA's... All dedicated to disecting the mountainous evidence of this case..

"We've got our work cut out for us...Let's break into teams...The teams we are most comfortable with and then Vettie, you give us our assignments." said Olivia.

"Me , Jade and Gary will most likely be together." said Donnie Ray.

"Me, Josie, Sofia, Bree, Bee Bee, Jessica and Kayla will be working together." said Beverly

"I'll be with Keith, Kahlil ,David Charles and Tony." said Nelson.

''We can add Nat and Brookie to our research team..."said Josie.

"I'll be helping Alfreda..."said Paris.

"I guess that leaves everyone else." said Bresha.

"Yeah." said Tony.

"You guys are an organized Bunch.."said Alfreda.

''We're lawyers, this is what we do."said Rockland, who was amazed at how Yvette had put together such a team to go over this case.  They would do in one or two days what would normally take at least a month to do.. What would not have been finished in time to save this man.

''Wow...We've got some heavy hitters here in this group." I said.

''That means we are heavy hitters too!"said Bee Bee.

"Yupper." said Sofia.

"Hopefully this brain trust will be able to save this guy."said Kahlil.

"Hope Springs Eternal." said Jade.

Virginia felt alive...Although disbarred, here she was involved in a major case...as though she was still a practicing attorney...She would always be grateful to both Yvette and Olivia for making her feel a part of whatever they were doing..

Jetty, a Judge was looking intently at the files too, after he ate...

"The food is delicious as usual , the music is banging...I don't feel like I'm doing work..."said Jazzy.

"Olivia creates the most comfotable enviroment possible to do work.."said Dabnis...enjoying his pancakes and eggs and preparing to work on the case.

"I love coming to Olivia's to work, eat, whatever." said Jessica.

"I think we all do." said Chip.

"Remember, when we first met, we were here, working on a case?" said Zoey...

"Yeah with far less people."chuckled her husband, Lem.

"This is a great idea of Yvette and Olivia's...Having us all over here to work on this.. I love this." said Sean Marks, a Federal Public Defender...

"I love being a part of this and being with you."said his wife, Brooke.

"This is actually kind of fun."said Natalie..

"I'm loving this." said David Charles.

"Damnnnnnn girl, you looked so sexy standing up there giving that address...Your breasts about to explode out of that blouse." said Gary with a wry smile.

"I outgrew this blouse years ago...I only keep it because you like it....and...I love you." said Yvette, who found herself moved to tears.. "All these people gave up their Saturday to help me, To help me with this case..

"This is Family Vettie...And Family does this for each other..." explained Gary, holding Ms. Yvette and hugging her.

Beverly, Josie, Bresha, Bee Bee, Sofia., Jessica, Chip,David Charles, Natalie Tennison and Brook and Sean Marks descended on the Law Library, they began studying laws related to this trial, similar cases, predicates, other death row cases and original trial transcripts, witness statements.

Next door in the Media Room...Nelson explained the finer workings of Trial Science , Picking and evaluating a potential juror for this case and what they would need..Kahlil and I and Tony paid rapt attention as did David Charles and Sean Marks...

Sean Marks was simply fascinated by Olivia and Beverly's entire operation..

Donnie Ray and Gary took over the other side of the Media Room

Jade was there too, joined by her husband, Lt. Danny Ho, who had arrived after he got off work...

They viewed the crime scene photos on the screen...They looked at the Autopsy Report and read the Crime Scene Report...

In the Conference room was the rest of the attorneys..

Yvette, Olivia, Jazzy, Dabnis, Kayla, Ray, Virginia, Jetty and Rockland, disecting the rest of the case..

They came back and finished up on Sunday....

They had made more progress in one weekend , than they could have made in two weeks...

Yvette thanked everybody as they left to go home.. She turned to Virginia.

"Virginia..These files are all boxed up..Tomorrow arrange to have these boxes sent back to Stewart James's archives...We have copies in our office..We don't need these anymore." she said.

"I got this girlfriend, Why don't you take tomorrow off..You must be exhausted ,putting this altogether."said Virginia, hugging her..

''Olivia, Olivia, Thank you for allowing us to use your facilities and  put this together.. In Two days, we made up for two weeks of work.. This gives us some wiggle room...More time to work." said Ms. Yvette.

"How am I gonna say No to you? Huh?  You're my sister...You saved my bacon when we got sued by that maniac...I'll always be in your debt..."said Olivia, hugging her.. "I love you.."

"I love you too!" said Yvette, hugging her best friend.

Ms. Virginia looked at both of them and smiled.. She loved them too.. Her two precious friends.

She looked up at the rainbow over the horizon...It was pretty.

We were back at the Job, Monday Morning...Still thanking our friends for helping us.

A Day Later in our conference room

''Virginia, get six train tickets...Round trip..We are going to Greene State Correctional Facility to visit the inmate tomorrow." said Yvette.

"On it." said Virginia.

"Road Trip. Whoooo Weee." I said jokingly.

"To a Prison? Really Keith?" said Bee Bee.

"And Death Row at that." said Sofia.

Kahlil laughed.

"It'll just be nice to get out of town for awhile." lamented Kahlil.

"Yeah, me too!" said Jade.

"I'm going to be on HARD  BOTTOM tonight..with Stewart...You might want to catch it.. You don't have to." laughed Ms. Yvette.

''Wouldn't miss it, but you know who else will be watching don't you?" said Bee Bee.

"Lt. Tragg, He never misses that show...even though he's be thrown off of it!" said Sofia.

"He's gonna go nuts!" I said,laughing.

"Mannn, I'm so glad we work here and he doesn't know where we work." laughed Kahlil.

"Me too! And I'm glad we'll be out of town tomorrow at any rate...He's going to go ballistic!" said Jade, laughing.

"He's pathetic." sighed Virginia.

That night on "HARD BOTTOM"

"This is B.L. Benz.. Tonight on HARD BOTTOM, we have, Attorney Yvette Jones-Lockwood, a Partner at McCluskey/Cozen/Connor & Pratt, who has made her name around town as one of the city's premiere defense attorneys.. she's here with a man we consider the Dean of Philly Defense Attorneys, Stewart James, They are going to try and save the life of soon to be executed prisoner, Rahim Muhammad, who is scheduled to be executed in three weeks for the 2010 murder of a policeman's wife.

But I'll let them explain it to you...

"Last week Mr. Stewart James, a man who mentored me and so many others came to me.. He has always felt bad about Mr. Muhammad's death sentence for a crime he still doesn't believe  he committed. We didn't have but three weeks to save him... This past weekend.. I enlisted the help of several of my attorney friends...I would be remiss if I didn't mention them by name.. Olivia Bennett-Alexander, her niece Beverly West, Nelson East, Josie Boyd, Bresha and Tony Billips, Jasmine and Dabnis Coley, Kayla Bennett-St. Jacques, her husband, Ray St. Jacques, Jessica Sanchez Burrows, Chip Burrows, Natalie Tennison, Brooke Marks, David Charles, Sean Marks, ADA Rockland Cambridge and my wonderful, loyal and talented staff, Keith and Beatrice Jones, Kahlil and Sofia Ahmed , Jade Lee , Virginia Shaw-Dukes and her husband, Jetty Dukes and the hospitality of Alfreda  Cambridge and Paris Boyd.  They assisted me this weekend in going over this case and everything concerning this case.. We did more in two days than I could of done in three weeks.. I have filed a motion to hold up his execution.. We believe we can produce exculpatory evidence to prove this man's innocence." said Yvette.

"This case, one of the few that I lost has always bothered me.. I never forgot about this man..I'm retired from practicing law now..I teach law at Middleton Law School in Bayside. I decided what this case needed was another look with Fresh Eyes.. I contacted Mrs. Jones-Lockwood  and she put all of the young legal minds she associates with to work and in effect has filed a motion, which has held up his execution once again...We are going to save this man's life."said Stewart James.

"Rahim Muhhamad, then known as Everett Johnson was arrested and convicted of killing Police Officer Troy Daniels wife, Nora Daniels..He has maintained his innocence the entire time, He was denied ever having a sexual relationship with the officer's wife, despite a pair of her panties and a bra being found in his apartment.. A Caterer by trade and a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Culinary Arts, This man had no prior criminal record and ran a successful catering business..Mrs. Daniels was killed with a knife, that came from his catering business.. He denied having any knowledge of how the knife wound up om her living room." said B.L. Benz. Over photos of Muhhammad at trial.

"Mr. James won a second trial for Mr. Muhammad in 2012, which he lost and saw Muhammad again sentenced to death. Now retired and teaching.. A Younger attorney is looking into this and hopefully she and her associates, using "Fresh Eyes" will see something that can save this man's life." said B.L.

And watching the whole thing was Lt. Tragg, who was frothing from the mouth..

"I DON'T BELIEVE IT!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! THAT OLD RUMMY, HE LOST TWICE IN COURT, AND NOW HE GOES AND GET'S YVETTE TO REOPEN THIS CASE!! IT'S CLOSED...WHY CAN'T HE LEAVE IT ALONE???  I AM GOING TO BE IN THEIR OFFICE TOMORROW MORNING, FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!" he bellowed.

Gary smiled and looked at his wife lustfully after he finished washing and drying the dishes...

Yvette was already sitting on the bed in her red lace baby doll...
