He had googled her.. She was on his mind.....She was always on his mind......

Assistant District Attorney Bruce Greene seldom thought of his murdered wife...Thelma...Now of days he seemed to be obsessed with Attorney Renee Cantrell...

He had found out where she lived.....A Nice quaint little home in a newly developed neighborhood.. Just three blocks from a lot of the people she and her boyfriend, hung around with...Attorneys Olivia Bennett-Alexander and her niece ,Beverly West and their associates, Nelson, Beverly's husband, Donnie Ray, Olivia's husband, and associate attorneys, Josie Boyd and her husband, Paris, a para-legal, now in law school and Bresha Billips and her husband, Tony Billips, also an Attorney, Office manager Alfreda and her husband, Assistant District Attorney, Rockland Cambridge all lived just three blocks away...She and her boyfriend, the Bailiff turned attorney, 

Tyrell Jones..were often seen in their company..

 

He was told Olivia and Beverly and husbands lived in a beautiful Duplex that also accompanied their law office and that she owned the building next door which had their law library and an ultra modern media room...how sway..

Across the street from her lived Yvette Jones Lockwood, her husband Gary and her entire staff, Keith Jones, Beatrice Jones, Sofia Garcia Ahmed, Kahlil Ahmed, Jade Lee and her husband, Danny Ho , her office manager, Virginia and her husband, Judge William Jefferson "Jetty" Dukes... all called this neighborhood home.. The rest of Olivia's staff all lived on this block, Josie,Paris, Bresha, Tony, Alfreda and Rockland...

 

 

It was indeed a beautiful neighborhood..

and also the home of other notable people..  Jasmine Jenkins, now Coley, who used to be an Assistant District Attorney....He would have loved to have dated and bedded her down, Her husband, Attorney Dabnis Coley..He didn't know him, Olivia's foxy other niece (Cousin) Kayla Bennett-St. Jacques...He would have loved to have dated and bedded her down, Her husband, Ray St. Jacques, also an attorney, who he didn't know...Innocence Project Attorneys...Jessica Sanchez-Burrows, another woman, He would have loved to have dated and bedded her down also and her husband, Charles Burrows, an attorney he didn't know...called this neighborhood home..

 

A few blocks from her the rest of what Lt. Tragg called the "Olivia" Caravan lived.. Attorney Natalie Tennison, now Natalie Charles,, another woman, He would have loved to have dated and bedded her down also and her husband, Attorney David Charles, once a public defender, now an ADA and a staff attorney with the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit lived there next door to Brooke Kennedy Marks, a fixy white girl who he tried earnestly to bed  down once....who was married to a Black Federal Public Defender names Sean Marks called this block their home..

and last but not least, Attorney Zoey Easter, a divorce attorney ,who his wife Thelma was talking to just before she was murdered. He didn't like Zoey, but admitted, she had a sexy body.... She and her husband, An Attorney named Lem rounded out the huge group of friends..

They all hung together, Ate and drank out together and traveled together....in addition to living on the same block, same neighborhood... He could see Renee's attraction to this neighborhood, especially since she went to High School with Beverly, Kayla, Jazzy and Natalie.

He knew where she worked...

He had sent her a bouquet of roses every day of the week..

He even called her , at work....Her phone went to voicemail and she didn't answer her business phone..

He was sitting in Sam Mother's Diner...He closed his laptop as his breakfast arrived...

He looked up and Lt. Tragg was walking into the diner..

"Heyyy Lieutenant....I haven't seen you in awhile, Were you on vacation?" said ADA Bruce Greene.

"I was on the Marine Boat for 45 days, thanks to that asshole, Gary Smith.....he wrote an end of trial report that was a hit job, a total hit job on me and my professionalism....and then went on TV and lambasted me again....He blamed his failure on me and not that he was out lawyered.....Anyway...I was back for awhile and then I just took a few days off and went outta town to get my head together...I'm back now...What's goin on with you?" he asked.

"Oh Nothin, Nothin...same ole same ole." he said..

Just then , he saw her... Renee Cantrell and Natalie Charles walk into the diner..

"I'm glad I saw you down here Natalie...I came to file a brief for a court case I have in a week."said Renee.

"I came to pick up something from one of the Judges..I took a chance coming in here...Now I wish I hadn't. Look, both pains in the ass are in here, Lt. Tragg and ADA Bruce Green.."said Natalie..

Beverly West-East-Olivia's niece and partner and Natalie's friend since high school walked in just then.

''Heyyy girls...I'm so glad I ran into you....Now I don't have to eat alone.. I was just out getting some fresh air and just happened to be in the area...Now I don't have to have coffee alone."said Beverly.

It was unusual to see Beverly or Natalie alone and not with their people...In Sam Mother's Diner at least.

She looked around...She saw Lt. Tragg and ADA Bruce Green a few tables away...

"Damn.....I should've gone straight home... I was so used to Lt. Tragg not being around.." she said.

"I know... He would have to be in here the one day I come in here alone...So glad you and Renee were here." said Natalie..

"Oh hell, here they come!  They're worse than high school boys." said Renee...."I wish Tyrell was here.." said Renee.

II-

"Good Morning Ladies..... Renee!" said ADA Bruce Green...

"Good Morning ADA Green." said Beverly.

as her coffee and a croissant arrived.

"Good Morning ADA Green." said Natalie..

She was having Organic Tea and a Croissant...

''We don't have to be so formal Natalie.. We both have the same boss." said Bruce Greene..

"You're right... Hi Bruce...How are you?" said Natalie..

"Just fine thank you....Renee, can I have a word in private?" he said.

Renee sighed and moved over to an empty table with Bruce...

"Yes...What is it now?" she asked, slightly annoyed...She wanted to talk with her girlfriends..

"I was out driving a few days ago and I saw you in front of your new house....You looked like you had just come from shopping...I must say...I'm impressed, nice house, nice new neighborhood." said Bruce..

"Stalking me?" asked Renee..

"You've got jokes.... No I wasn't..it was pure co-incidence...You have three very nice shopping centers near you...I just happened to be shopping and I saw you leaving..You were with your friends.......You renting that place huh?   You should be in a house....I could put you in a house..."said Bruce.

''I'm already in a house !We were renting to buy...We've decided to buy now.. We have a Morgtage..." said Renee' proudly...

"Oh We huh? We?  You mean the Bailiff turned Lawyer huh?   Renee, what are you doing with him?

You're a little older than him aren't you?" asked Bruce..

''Two years, but who's counting besides you?" asked Renee.

"Look Renee, he's a cute feel good story....Former Court Bailiff puts himself through law school, graduates and passes the bar, gets lucky and wins a big case...alright, cool...but he's still not on your level...You're two years older than him... You graduated from Howard University...You've worked as a Public Defender in both D.C. and here in Philly...You've done stints at the Innocence Project and the Women's Law Center and now you're in the Big leauges...the Corporate Law  leagues as an Associate Attorney at Cochran and Grace Attorneys at law... You've been around the block...Where has he been?

He's just starting out...You got him that job at C& G...He's not making more money than you.. If I know right you're carrying the expenses for that house all by yourself.... You need a man like me who has a house already and who is ambitious....I've got my eye on Public Office....I don't plan to be a career prosecutor....I'm running for States Attorney next year and after that, who knows...Congress maybe..."said Bruce Green...

"That's nice...That's real nice..If you must know....He only started two weeks after I did...We are making about the same and we split our finances 50/50 on the house and other  expenses...We both have cars and....

We are engaged."she said, showing him her engagement ring!

"WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?   I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!   You haven't known him that long...How can you be doing this?" Bruce Greene asked...Shocked beyond measure..

"I've known him long enough , Long enough to know that he's the best thing that has ever happened to me and he says I'm the best thing that's ever happened to him....That's all that matters..." said Renee.

"HE WAS SCREWING MY WIFE!!!!" screamed Bruce Greene...A number of people in the diner turned their heads...

"The same wife you were married to and didn't tell me about when you were trying to screw me, remember?   That's water under the bridge...Your wife is dead now...Tyrell was falsely charged with her murder...and tried and acquitted in a court of law and now he and I are together...I didn't even know him when all of that went down...but I knew you...I knew you Bruce... You who made me pay the drink tab when I did go out on a date with you....You who talked endlessly about yourself the whole time we were out..I'm surprised you know so much about me...I never got a chance to tell you myself......Yes..I know You Bruce and accomplishments, money, home or not...you're not who I want to be with....I'm with who I want to be with...Tyrell Jones, Attorney at law...Not a bailiff, but an attorney at law and a good person."said Renee..

At the other table, Lt. Tragg was standing, looking down at Beverly and Natalie with a baleful glare and being totally ignored..

"The silent treatment eh?   Where is the rest of the Olivia caravan???  What ?/They sent you two girls out on solo missions huh? Huh?  Ohhhhhh the silent treatment eh? The two biggest mouths in the group here today and not near them...Nothin to say, Huhhhh?  Ohhhhh the silent treatment today...Nothing smart or witty to say eh?" he said.

Beverly totally ignored him and drank her coffee and spread butter on her croissant...

Natalie drank her  tea, spread Jelly on her croissant and ignored him too..

..

Renee returned to the table and finished her croissant and her tea...

They hated that they couldn't taalk freely with Lt. Tragg standing over them and that he wouldn't leave...They wished their husbands were here..

''I don't know you....I've only recently started seeing you with this bunch....What is your name?" asked Lt. Tragg. "You a lawyer too?" he asked.

Renee didn't answer or even look his way...She and her friends finished their teas and croissants...

Walked up to the counter and paid their bills and quietly walked out of the diner...

''He seriously needs psychiatric attention. Bye Renee...We'll be seeing you."said Beverly..

"Bye Neighbors...We going to Curley's Thursday for couples night?" asked Renee.

"Probably...it won't be as nice and smooth as the past couple of weeks....Asshole Junior is back." said Natalie, hugging Renee.

"I know right? See you girls later." said Renee.

Beverly and Natalie hugged Renee and got on the train...

Natalie headed toward the Bridge Building where she worked and Beverly headed home.

While Renee made it back through the teaming city streets to her office...

Bruce Greene sat stunned at the news that Renee and Tyrell were engaged to be married and had settled down together in a home....

He hated the very idea of where they were living and the fact that they were happy...He was livid..His day was ruined..

Lt. Tragg was stunned that he didn't get a peep out of either one of them....

Sam Mother looked at both Bruce Greene  and Lt. Tragg, "Two pitiful confused men", he mused.

III-

That afternoon...

"Heyyyyy Baby, how was your day?" said Tyrell, just getting home..

He took her in his arms and kissed her passionately....This always left Renee breathless and aroused..

''What's Good? Besides You?" he asked.

''OUUUUUUUUUUUU.." she said.... " I went into town today... I saw Beverly and Natalie in Sam Mother's Diner. I also saw Lt. Tragg and Bruce Greene...I told him we are together and that we have a house and are getting married...Of course he wasn't pleased...but that's just the way it is.."said Renee...

"Maybe he'll stop sending the roses and the constant calling.."said Tyrell..

''I hope so....He's obsessed with me.." said Renee..

''Well that makes two of us...Come on let's go upstairs...."said Tyrell,lifting Renee up and taking her upstairs..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU ARE SOOOOO CRAZY!!!" laughed Renee.

Tyrell took her to their bedroom.....

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you look good in that yellow dress...It really turns me on..."said Tyrell..

"You said that about the dress I had on yesterday.." said Renee..

"Can I help it if everything you wear turns me on?" asked Tyrell...

"You'll say anything to get in my panties."laughed Renee.

They took a hot shower together and got dressed and headed to Jake's Hot dog spot..

Where they were surprised at who they saw...

"WHOAAAAA Look who's here." said a surprised Tyrell....It was a lot of their new neighbors...

"Bev, this is twice in one day huh?" said Renee.

"I knowwwwwwwwwwww. I usually only see you guys on a Thursday Night or Friday Night...Nelson and I were hungry at around midnight so uh since we were still up...we decided to come to Jake's." said Beverly.

"Yeah...We were coming out of our door and we saw Jazzy and Dabnis, Bresha and Tony, Kayla and Ray, Jessie and Chip and Keith and Bee Bee and Sofia and Kahlil all coming out at the same time.. We all looked at each other and laughed and followed each other here in our cars... One of the few times we do drive during the week."laughed Nelson..

Because they all rarely drove, their nine cars weren't recognized in the parking lot.

"Heyyyy Renee, Tyrell...Guess we all had the same idea.huh?" said Josie..

Paris smiled sheepishly....He didn't know about the others, but he and Josie had had some of the best sex of their lives this afternoon...and had woke up hungry at midnight...

"Heyyyyy Renee, Tyrell, Fancy meeting you guys here again." said Bresha..

"This time you guys are closer.."laughed Tony..

"Hey Renee, Tony...Natalie told me she saw you today in Sam Mother's Diner."said Jazzy.

"Looks like Lt. Tragg is back from wherever he's been...It's been soooooo damn peaceful without him around." said Dabnis...

"Well he's not here...We can enjoy tonight without him."said Kayla..

"Yeah how about that?" said Her husband, Ray...

"Hi Mami...Nice to see you...Hi Tyrell." said Jessica..

"It's a shame Natalie and Brooke live so many blocks away...They might have joined us."said Chip..

"Yeah , they might have.."said Bee Bee.

"Umm here come our orders...They even smell good."said Keith Jones..

''Don't they now? Look at you papi , eating pork."joked Sofia..

"I'm an Arab...but I'm not Muslim...I've got no quarrels with the hog." joked Kahlil..

Their hot dogs arrived and their punch.....They looked up and coming through the doors were their neighbors from the north....

"Oh My God!! Look at this!  Everybody had the same idea..."said Natalie..

''We thought we were being spontaneous...and when we came out our front door, Brooke and Sean were coming out of theirs..." said David.

''That's pretty much everyone's story here tonight.."said Beverly.

''Wowwwww, Imagine that...All of us were hungry at midnight.."said Brooke.

"I'll bet all you girls told your guy....If you go out with me and get some food ,I'll give you some more when we get back."said Sean,laughing..

It was true..

They pulled up seats and they all enjoyed the hot dogs and the punch...

Renee leaned her head into Tyrell's shoulder.....

"I love this and I love you!" she said.

Tyrell smiled sheepishly......

Bruce Greene was in the parking lot....He peered inside and saw all of them together and got sick to his stomach...Especially seeing Renee with Tyrell....He turned and got back in his car and pulled off!

IV-

THURSDAY NIGHT- CURLEY'S BAR- COUPLES NIGHT

Lt. Tragg or not, Nothing and Nobody could stop them from enjoying couples night...

They arrived early so they could get seats near each other and as usual...The "Olivia Caravan" as Lt. Tragg called it all got seats in the middle of the bar...all next to each other...

"How did you meet Bruce Greene anyway?" asked Tyrell..

"I was a Public Defender...I was second chair on a case he was prosecuting...After fighting hard for two weeks at trial...The Lead Attorney and the client agreed to plead out...5 years probation and a fine, no jail time... I presented the plea in court... He took it and asked me for my phone number afterwords..

I didn't think anything of it... I gave it to him...He called me...Talked my ears off about himself, where he went to law school...Him being named Super Lawyer one year....His goals to run for District Attorney, yada yada yada...I couldn't get a word in... He asked me to go out with him...I said yes, just to get him off the phone... All that talking, he failed to tell me that he was married.... I went out with him...A Nice restaurant....He talked about himself the entire time...when he wasn't running his hands up my skirt, feeling my legs, commenting on how big my butt was and how nice my legs were shaped.. He made me pay the drink tab, when the bill came..

I was done with him then...He didn't get a kiss, he didn't get invited in and I took his number out of my phone.

For the next two years, he bugged the hell out of me, constantly calling, asking for another date...following me to my new jobs at The Innocence Project and the Women's Law Center...Stalking me.

My Mini vacay in San-Francisco was the most peace I've had from him since then... I returned and I see he's up to his old tricks...Sending me flowers to my new job, Finding out where I'm living now and still trying to get with me.. He's a pest." said Renee.

"Ummmmmmmmm these Shrimp are off the chain." said Jazzy, sitting right across from them..
 

"This Fried chicken aint bad either." said Dabnis.

"We are going to Bayside Saturday.....Roller Skating...They have five  D.J..'s from out of town. spinnin."said Kayla.

"Cool....That'll be a good time." said Ray.

"Always...One of those D.J.'s is a Latin guy from New York City....The Boogie Down Bronx." said Jessica.

"I know you'll be happy with that." laughed her husband, Chip.

"I hate that because of one man, we have to park three blocks away....It angers me.."said Karen.

"It angers me too! But that's the price of doing business...I've said we ought to think about finding another bar to hang out at that has a "Couples Night." said B.L.

Karen Page and B.L. were the only couple that did not come on Olivia's buses...They had driven here..They were cautioned to be very careful leaving here... B.L. had parked two blocks down to avoid Lt. Tragg if he did show up.

"We are going to Bayside Saturday.....Roller Skating...They have five  D.J..'s from out of town. spinnin."said Natalie.

"That ought to be fun...We haven't been skating in awhile." said David.

"Gotta get it all in before it gets cold...We'll all be in our homes most of these nights then." said Brooke.

"Yeah how about that?" said Sean...

"We do things in the winter...Just not as much...."said Zoey.

"Ummmmm more shrimp...more chicken."said Lem...

 "So Far, So good...It's been a nice night."said Olivia.

"Don't fool yourself.. He'll be here.. Bev saw him and he was true to form.." said Donnie Ray.

'' Oh God he was trying too hard to get a rise out of me and Nat...but we didn't say anything..."said Beverly.

"He's a Bully....He likes to pick on women.....That's cool, all of your husbands are here tonight.."said Nelson..

"Just ignore him everybody....He's got no trial to whine about ...Neither Ms. Yvette's group or ours is facing him in court..."said Josie.

"He's going to say the same thing he always says.." said Paris.

"I HOPE YOU HIGH FALLUTIN ATTORNEYS AINT DRINKIN AND DRIVIN! I'D HATE TO HAVE TO ARREST YOU FOR DUI!" said Bresha, imitating him...

Toni laughed .......

"You almost sound like him." he said.

"I know...She does.."laughed Alfreda.

"I'm going to hit him with Cease and Desist orders for Natalie, Brooke and their husbands and you and Renee." said Rockland...

"Thanks man and while you're at it can you get one for Bruce Green for Renee?" said Tyrell..

Renee cracked up laughing...

"Is he still after you Renee? Lawd, he's a pest...I remember when he was after me."said Yvette.

''He's a horn dog and the thing about it...He's not even cool..Most of the women are laughing at him.."said Gary....

 

"We are going to Bayside Saturday.....Roller Skating...They have five  D.J..'s from out of town. spinnin."said Keith Jones..

"That ought to be fun...We haven't been skating in awhile." said Bee Bee.

One of those D.J.'s is a Latin guy from New York City....The Boogie Down Bronx." said Sofia.

"I heard Jessica telling you that today at Dinner."said Kahlil.

''Aw Ohhhh don't look now...Here comes Bruce Greene." said Jade.

''ADA Greene...First time I've seen him in here..." said Danny Ho.

"Just as long as Lt. Tragg doesn't come in....Last week was sooo nice, so mellow."said Virginia.

"Tonight has still been nice., we've been in here for FIVE HOURS" said Jetty.

Bruce Greene saw them all...A lot of the attorneys he had faced in court or knew from around...

but the ones he zeroed in on was Renee Cantrell and Tyrell Jones..

They were kissing passionately, trying to devour each other's lips...

"ALRIGHT BREAK IT UP!! BREAK IT UP!" said Lt. Tragg as he walked in... They ignored him as did the rest of them...Who were all snuggled up...Most of the women were sitting on their husband's laps, munching on chicken and or shrimp and drinking either beers or martinis....

No one said a word to him or looked his way...They continued...Eating, drinking, talking quietly amongst themselves  and kissing... a couple of the other couples were kissing too!

"THIS IS A BAR!!! NOT A LOVE NEST!!!  GET A ROOM!" he bellowed... Not a soul looked his way...

"I see all of you high fallutin, high priced attorneys are eating well...Some of you off the public's dime..and drinking....It's a good thing most of you are riding home on those buses tonight...I'd hate to bust someone for DUI..." he declared..

No one said a word....It was as if he wasn't there!!

"Oh the silent treatment eh?" he said again....

No one said a word to him....

Just the sounds of kissing and moaning....

"OHHHHHHHHHHHH...AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...UMMMMMMMMMMM!"came the sounds..

"ALRIGHT BREAK IT UP!! BREAK IT UP!"he said " LET ME REMIND YOU!!! THIS IS A BAR!!! NOT A LOVE NEST!!!  GET A ROOM!" he bellowed... Not a soul looked his way..

For the second time he was being totally ignored by everyone around him....He wasn't getting a rise out of anyone.. He even heard a few snickers...

"DID I SAY SOMETHING FUNNY?" he bellowed...

Still nothing and no one he could zero in on...Some of these ladies, he knew to stay away from...Like Kayla, Like Jazzy, Like Virginia...All whose husbands had pummelled him in the past....Like Zoey, whose husband was big and threatened to put him through the door...Others ,who appeared to be soft targets like David Charles, Tyrell Jones, who was kissing the mystery girl were too wrapped up to approach...They were ignoring him and lip locked with their girls...He was frustrated to say the least...

He finally walked over to the bar and ordered a beer in frustration...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GIRL YOU HAVE THE SOFTEST LIPS!" moaned Tyrell.
