They were very astute and very talented attorneys...She would have to bring her A-Game.. Shooter certainly wasn't going to, she mused.

Meanwhile at Bridgerton Investments..

Ms. Jade was ingratiating herself with several of the male employees who upon seeing her in her little black dress became very talkative and began giving her information in the power struggle at the company between two men, Harry Darrow and Elliot Stark who were competing for control of the company by owning the most stock...There was a rumor that Cosmo Courtland was about to unload his stock, sell it to one of these two , which would make that person have controlling shares and thus make them the Boss!

No one seemed to know which one Cosmo was aligned with...Ms. Jade knew that whichever one it was, the other was probably behind the murder..

The fact that she was wearing a big wedding band didn't deter a lot of the men from trying to put the moves on her.

Some things were the same everywhere... A little Black dress, whether worn in Hong Kong or Philadelphia, had the same effect on men everywhere. It turned their brains into mush!

II-

Lt. Tragg, despite being in a somewhat semi-committed relationship with ADA April Taylor

was enamored with ADA Gilda Grady

He sent her flowers

Brought her coffee and pastries..

which didn't impress her at all. She shared the pastries with the bailiffs...She gave the flowers to the court stenographer or one of the female court clerks.. She did drink the coffee!

The Lead Chair, Assistant District Attorney , James "Straight" Shooter was no different,. He had asked her out to dinner several times and she had coyly told him to work harder on this case and not getting her into bed...

Lt. Tragg was trying to impress her by reworking the case...Something he never did for any other ADA, Not even April Taylor.

He interviewed 22 people at the Bridgerton Investment Company...Only to be told that 

"A  pretty , sexy Asian Lady Investigator had already questioned them and they were telling him the same thing they told her."

Furious , he questioned 28 more people involved with Cosmo Courtland, including some ex-girlfriends..

Some told him a "pretty Asian Investigator and a Young Black Male Attorney had already questioned them and they told them the same thing they were telling him.. That was the days I went out with Ms. Jade.

Or a "Pretty Sexy Asian Investigator and a young Arab Attorney had already questioned them and they had told her the same thing they were telling him. That was Ms. Jade and Kahlil.

Or a "Pretty Sexy Asian Investigator and two young female attorneys 

had already questioned them and they were repeating what they had already told them...

He was livid...He knew the "Pretty Sexy Asian Lady" was none other than Jade Lee  and the attorneys with her were Yvette's young shock troops.

He didn't really dislike Me, Kahlil, Bee Bee and Sofia....but he hated Jade Lee, now married to one of his Lieutenants, Danny Ho

with a white hot passion and the feeling was mutual.  Her being a cop's wife and conducting the interviews with Attorneys present gave him little to no lee way to charge her with any wrong doing or to try and pull her license.

Having us tag along with Ms. Jade had been Ms. Yvette's idea and for that very reason.

He interviewed Cosmo's estranged wife.. He was told that a "Pretty Asian Lady and four young attorneys had interviewed her the day after the murder and she had told them the same thing.

She described us as a" Puerto Rican Girl, "She had a thick spanish accent." , A Black Girl, an Arab looking guy and a tall nice looking Black guy."

Lt. Tragg knew exactly who we were...who was being described.

He charged into our old building,only to find our office, eerily silent and eerily empty..He didn't know we no longer worked in that building and were in fact downtown in a new building.

He sat in Jake's with ADA Jim "Straight" Shooter hours later

 enjoying hot dogs and stewing!

''So what they were at all of the spots before you?...They didn't get any more or any less than you did. None of those people you guys interviewed can alibi the broad or give you any or them any compelling evidence one way or another.. The case is locked. What are you gettin mad at them for anyway??...They're lawyers, Jade is their investigator, They're supposed to be trying to find a way to spring the girl..That's what she's paying them for...Sheesh Artie, you're working yourself up over nothin... Yvette has got some pretty sexy girls workin for her...

and all colors of the loaf...I swear..I wouldn't mind introducing all of em to the baloney pony, ya know what I'm sayin Artie? Heh Heh heh!" laughed Jim Shooter.

"That damn Yvette aint so bad herself.." he laughed as he ate his third hot dog.

James Shooter began his career much like Jumpshot Jim Taylor... He had actually been quite a good student in his high school and an even better athlete..He lettered in Baseball and Football and was highly recruited..

He took his football team to the NCAA championships his Junior year in college and then his senior year, he tore his ACL badly, which essentially ended his thoughts of a pro  football career... He went on to graduate and he entered law school ,graduated and passed the bar and got a job at the District Attorneys office where he'd been ever since.

He kind of let himself go and ballooned up quite a bit over his once athletic self. He'd been married and divorced twice.

"Keep dreamin Jimmy...You might have had a shot, 220 pounds ago..and I'm talking about Yvette... Those kids are young enough to be your daughters, ya pedophile.."laughed Lt. Tragg...

"But they aint my daughters...Tell me you have never looked at Bee Bee or that Puerto Rican girl Sofia?

Them two guy lawyers grabbed them two and took em off the market immediately and I don't Blame em one bit..

"And I know Yvette has Gary Lockwood all twisted up

She's turned his brain into mush!" laughed Jim Shooter as he polished off his last hot dog..

He eyed Lt. Tragg's fries..

"You gonna eat that Artie? " he asked.

"Nah, take em." said Lt. Tragg.

"Artie, it's just the game, Cops and Lawyers... That's how the game is played.. You never understood." said Jim "Straight" Shooter.

III-

We were having our weekly meeting at our building

In our new conference room /law library.

"Sooo on the eve of  the preliminaries next week. What do we know?" asked Yvette.

"Those panties and that bra found in that room with Cosmo are not Amandas and in fact, they aren't a set.. There is different DNA on both pieces.Same thing with the lip stick.. We are talking about three different women here."said Jade.

''What a dog!"scowled Sofia.

"Amanda better get herself checked to make sure she doesn't have an STD."said Bee Bee.

Both Ms. Yvette and Jade laughed...

''We know there was a battle for control of the company.... Cosmo was about to sell the lion share of his stocks to one of these men..." I said and put two glossies on the table.

"Both men were in a very personal and fierce battle for control., both had Cosmo Courtland's ear and he was about to sell his stocks ,all of them , to the highest bidder...which would of given that person control over the company." said Kahlil.

"Only no one knows which one of these two Cosmo was leaning towards." said Bee Bee.

''I do know Cosmo had his eye on major real estate in California, where he was planning to move."said Sofia.

"What about his wife? Where is she in all this? Asked Ms. Yvette.

"They're estranged.. They were headed for divorce. She doesn't even live with him anymore.She moved out of their condo a few months ago...They had reached an equitable settlement and everything."said Jade.

"She knew about the other women, but didn't name anyone by name.. She said she had affairs too!" I said.

"The Night of the murder, She was in the apartment of uh a very married Semi Pro Football player in the area." said Sofia.

"Jade and I checked it out..It's true."said Kahlil.

"You know ,I think we beat Lt. Tragg to all of the people we interviewed if he interviewed any of them."laughed Bee Bee.

"Yeah, well he's not our problem. We need to question both of these men though...I'll supply subpoenas." said Ms. Yvette.

"Uh Boss lady, Both guys are presently out of town....Stark is in London on business, He's not due back until sometime next week.. And Darrow is in Miami.." said Jade.

"And the preliminaries begin next week... Oh by the way.. Changing the subject a bit.. Anybody heard from our former client, Ms. Jane Martin?" asked Yvette.

At that moment in Jane's townhouse..

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!  OHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! UMMMMMMMMMM"

The young man Jane had hooked up with the last time we saw her, really had a thing for her..

He came over every single night and left at daybreak....He was insatiable.

She went to work wearing sunglasses and drowning herself in coffee.. 

He wanted it constantly and he kept her satisfied and happy, but exhausted..

He had been sending her a different color rose bouquet everyday...

We met with Jane in Curley's Bar two nights later.

"Bee Bee. Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrl, that young man has got skilllz! He makes my toes curl." laughed Jane..

''Ouuuuuuu, well he certainly likes you...Roses every day....Wowwwwwwww!" said Bee Bee.

"Glad Things are working out for you." I said.

"He said he thinks he's in love with me...Tee Hee." she giggled like a school girl. She was so happy to finally have someone.

"Soooo uh how do you feel about him Jane? You like him?" asked Sofia.

"I like him, I like him a lot...It's too early for me to be in love, but I already consider myself "His girl" and I couldn't be happier." said Jane, gushing.

"That sounds good." said Kahlil.

"How's the case going?" asked Jane.

"It's taken some turns...We are subpeoning two men, two of your former company's largest shareholders,

ELLIOT STARK

And HARRY DARROW."

said Bee Bee.

"I know them both and they've been trying to leverage the other one out even when I was working there with Estep as co-counsel..With him gone...It's just the two of them....But I'll tell you something..Stark has a wife, who is considerably younger than him, who has quite a bit of stock too.. She has been known to play around quite a bit...The two of them were in marriage counseling..He was very jealous, very possessive. You might want to try and talk to her." said Jane.

''Wow, we should have talked to you sooner." said Kahlil.

"Do you have an address for the Starks?" I asked.

"Sure Do!" laughed Jane...''Where is my girls, Ms. Yvette and Ms. Jade?" asked Jane.

''Yesterday they were in Miami....Today they are in London....Serving subpoenas on Decker and Stark, who are away on Business.. They'll be back tomorrow." said Sofia.

''Ms. Yvette is sharp...She's a baller. I really admire her." said Jane.

It was nice to enjoy drinks in this bar on this night with no harrassment or visit from Lt. Tragg. They had no idea where he was, but they were glad he wasn't in here.

IV-

PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FRIDAY NIGHT-

Ms. Yvette and Ms. Jade

"I bet neither one of them expected that, a subpoena while on business.."laughed Ms. Yvette.

They were just returning from London, where they had been for a day. They were both glad it was Friday...The Jet lag was going to catch up with them both.

They had been in Miami the day before and had left there and immediately caught a plane to London.

''Whooooo I know it..but it was nice to get out of town for a day or two..The kids have been minding the store." said Jade.

"Oh I know they have...They've been working hard. I hope they're out having some fun tonight."said Ms. Yvette.

''There's my baby...I missed you." said Gary..

Giving Yvette a slow soft kiss..

"There is my pretty sexy Asian Lady...I missed you."said Jade's new husband, Danny Ho.

"It's only been two days.. my goodness, you are so horny!" whispered Jade in his ear..

As she kissed him passionately..

They all went home!

That night, Gary passed Ms. Yvette her nightly cup of Orange Organic Tea. She liked drinking this after a nice hot shower and just inhaling the aroma..It relaxed her.

She and Gary  kissed passionately..

"Let me guess" said Yvette devilishly...

The bedsprings were soon squeaking very loudly.....The headboard of their bed was rattling and the sounds of lovemaking could be heard...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuu.." moaned Yvette...


"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.." moaned Gary.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Garyyyyy, ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.." she moaned...

"Vettie, I love you , I just love you soooo much.." moaned Gary, beside himself with lust...

He had gone from lifting her up and long stroking her..

to throwing her on the bed and laughing gleefully as he stroked her.....Her arms around his neck...her head turning from side to side....both of her legs just shaking furiously....

"That's because Jade

 is such a thorough Investigator and I have four very good young Attorneys 

doing the leg work." said Yvette...

"So Sit back Ms. Managing Partner.. You don't have to do all the heavy lifting.. Let me lift those big legs of yours and get some more good lovin." said Gary, with a raffish smile.

"Ouuu, hold that thought" she said, blushing a little, as she got up and walked to the kitchen to get a bottle of water...

Gary watched her  walk towards the steps..She had such a sexy walk ,he thought..He got aroused just watching her.

Yvette came back up with two bottles of water... They both quaffed down the cool refreshing water.
