Social Life and Love

Jasmine was really enjoying her new neighborhood and having friends again...

Something she hadn't had in five years...

She and her new husband, Dabnis, as promised , visited their friends,

Keith Jones, Beatrice "Bee Bee" Evans, Sofia Garcia and Kahlil Ahmed at their apartment building in the 'Apartment City" section..which was just a few blocks from where she and Dabnis were now living..

One nice warm  Thursday Night, they met on the rooftop terrace of their apartment building..

where they ordered

 Pizza and Cokes and played Bidwhist...

the entire afternoon...For Dabnis,

it was a learning experience.

"I can't believe you can't play Bid Whist Man....and we went to Howard University.."joked his buddy ,Keith Jones..

"I know right?  And I went to Temple and I can play....I'm bout to make you turn in your Black cards lover."laughed Jazzy...

 ''We went to Temple Tooo, that's where we learned to play..."said Bee Bee..

 ''Yeahhhh Many Afternoons..."laughed Sofia..

''Bee and Sofia taught me...When I was a Freshman at Temple.."said Kahlil..

''Temple is almost like an HBCU, in the heart of North Philly...I guess yall did learn ."said Dabnis..

"I knew how to play Bid whist before I went to college, My Mom and my Aunt used to play.."laughed Keith Jones...

'When I first met his Moms and His Aunt... Bid whist was a great ice breaker.."said Bee Bee..

"He's doin okay...He's a quick study.."said Sofia..

''Yeah he is... Open that other box of Pizza...We aint wastin nothin here.."said Kahlil..

 Dabnis smiled and helped himself to another slice..

''His two passions in life..Pizza and Me.." said Jazzy....

''Nah baby...you are my passion in life.."said Dabnis..as he downed another slice of Pizza...

 "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww that's so sweet." said Bee Bee..

"Yeahhh."said Sofia..

 ''Smart Man" said Keith Jones.

"Correct Answer."laughed Kahlil..

II-

A WEEK LATER...

Jazzy and Dabnis found themselves the guest of their neighbors, Olivia, Beverly ,Donnie Ray, Nelson and Josie..They lived right round the corner...walking distance..

They all met at Beverly and Nelson's apartment..

Pinocle was a game Dabnis could play and play well...

Dabnis and Nelson were partners...

''My man, we win again.." said Nelson...

They were playing Beverly and Jazzy...

 "Just not our night tonight Jazzy Girl."said Beverly

"I know right? We should play Bid whist...Something he's not good at.."said Jasmine pointing to her husband..

''Awww you got jokes right?"laughed Dabnis…"I just learned how to play last week when we were with Keith, Bee Bee, Kahlil and Sofia." he said ,laughing sheepishly..

 ''Don't feel bad...I don't play Bid whist either..."said Donnie Ray..

"He's going to learn though..or he's going to have to turn in his black cards.."joked Olivia..

"Okayyyy? Tell him Liv." laughed Jasmine.. "Josie do you and Paris play Bid whist?" asked Jasmine.

 "Are you kidding? That's the basis of first our friendship and later on our relationship..."joked Josie.

''We Play Knucks too! and Poker..A Man's game." joked Paris..

 ''We all play Poker..."said Olivia.

 "Yes....That's the late night game around here." said Beverly,....

 "Poker...Seperates the kids from the adults."chimed in Donnie Ray...

''Yes sirrrrr….I know you play Jazzy...How bout you Dabnis" said Nelson..

"Yes sirrrrrr..let's get a game going..." he said..

"Our Food is here."said Paris..

"Ouuu Look." said Jazzy...

 Gourmet Cheese Burgers and Hot Dogs for everyone...via UBER EATS from Jakes....

To go with the Beers on Ice..delivered by Brewmasters...

They never got around to playing Poker...The Cheeseburgers  Hot Dogs and the Beers and the conversation and laughs ruled the rest of the nights..

THE NEXT NIGHT...

Jasmine and Dabnis were out with Olivia and Beverly's cousin, Kayla and her husband, Ray.. Who lived across the street and down the block from Olivia and Beverly..Walking distance.

Ray took the to this Tony new Brewery that opened up...

Ray like Dabnis  enjoyed Domestic and International brews...

 ''I'm glad I brought you along man...You enjoy domestic and international brews like I do."said Ray.

"Oh Most def." said Dabnis..

The girls enjoyed wine..

 "Ummmmm Kayla, this is sooo sweet...I love it.." said Jasmine...

"Remember uh Drew Hunter in Law School??...He bought  a bottle of this over to my room when we were in law school and we killed it and some joint one rainy Friday Night.."whispered Kayla..

''And those panties slipped right off didn't they girl? He had a thing for you.."said Jasmine.. "Isn't he married to the Skirt with the Dirt on the radio now?" asked Jasmine..

''He had a thing for me and Bev..He just got some action from me first..He was slipping over to her room trying to get some from her too!  He didn't know that we were cousins and that we  talked..You're right...they did slip off and we did it all night long....Then he just ghosted me after that...To answer your question..Yes, He and the Skirt  were married, but he got some chick pregnant...Had her living in a townhouse..The Skirt divorced him , fired him as her manager and put ole girl out...Nelson represented the girl...Olivia and Beverly represented The Skirt and get this...I repped his sorry ass."said Kayla..

"Ouuuu I'll bet that was uncomfortable ,going up against fam huh?" asked Jasmine..

"No we worked the whole thing out in the office...Liv and Bev worked out their divorce settlement and Nelson got the baby mama child support and enough money from him so that she could get a reasonable apartment...He kept his job at her father's law firm and get this...He's the producer of her new Televison show again and they're seeing each other again...Just not married..So go figure."said Kayla.

"Wow what a mess."said Jasmine as they killed the bottle of wine.

III-

After work some nights...

 Jasmine and her new friend, ADA Karen Page would go to Curley's Bar for drinks... She liked Karen..She was white and 9 years her senior...but she was down to Earth, unpretentious and had been married to a Black man... Not only that...She and Olivia and Ms. Yvette had been classmates in law school and she was a Philly girl...From the hood...The white hood, Port Richmond...She was as down as could be...They got along just fine..

Some nights, they would occasionally meet Yvette Jones and Jade Lee..

It was nice to relax after work and have  some girl talk...

Lt. Tragg, also a regular there would usually interrupt that...

They could count on him to send them all a refill of what they had... Mango and Citris Martini's  and wine..

They could also count on his unasked for critiques of some of their boyfriends.


Not Yvette..

He had nothing against her boyfriend Gary Lockwood, an investigator for the District Attorneys Office and a Lieutenant in Robbery-Homicide at one time and Internal Affairs..

and likewise , not Jade Lee's Boyfriend either..

Lieutenant Danny Ho, Robbery-Homicide... Both men had served under him.

But with Jasmine and Karen it was completely different..

 He said to Jasmine..

"Jazzy, you're a smart girl, you were a hell of an Assistant District Attorney...Beautiful woman..What in god's name do you see in that pompous ,arrogant jerk, Dabnis Coley?" he said..

''You do realize that is my husband you're talking about...Obviously I see things in him that you wouldn't...Let's leave it at that while we are still friends Artie."said Jasmine diplomatically....Fearing that Dabnis might walk in and hear him denigrating him and it turn violent.. Dabnis hated Lt. Tragg with a passion and she was sure the feeling was mutual..

Karen got it the worst ,because not only did Lt. Tragg hate and put down

 every chance he got..He wanted Karen in the worst way....He had her so shook, she wouldn't even come in here alone anymore..

Jazzy and or Yvette had to be with her...

and occasionally Olivia

would join the girls...

Tonight...it was just the girls....

Some Friday Nights...

Jasmine and Dabnis joined their friends...

 And Olivia's friends, who were also their neighbors, Zoey, who had been Olivia's Attorney

and her husband Lem..also an Attorney.

Where they had live music..

some nights and 5-10 D.J.'s spinning other nights...

IV-

The nights they enjoyed the most... were the nights when they didn't go anywhere...It was just the two of them at home...

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm girl, you feel soooo damn good.." moaned Dabnis..

''So do you.." she said silently..

 "We got good friends .....just a stones throw away...We are walking distance from three shopping centers and three great clubs....lots of restaurants...dry cleaning, barber shops,salons..Who could ask for more?" said Dabnis..

"But the best thing is...We have each other.."said Jasmine..

''That is right."said Dabnis.

and they continued kissing...

They helped each other out of their clothes and

and soon were in bed , engulfed in sweet lovemaking....moaning, groaning..laughing

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Mrs. Coleyyyyyy." he moaned....

"Ouuuuuu DAbnissssssssssssssss..Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu…" she moaned..

as their weight made their bed begin to sag...and their headboard rattle loudly....

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu daddy take your time baby....your Jazzy isn't going anywhere.."sge cooed..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH lAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWD! " he moaned loudly...


SEVEN TO EIGHT HOURS of sweet lovemaking drifted by...…

Jasmine and Dabnis were moving up and down on each other...and just enjoying how full their lives had become now!

Dabnis didn't know if he was coming or going at this point...
