Lt. Tragg stood in front of Assistant District Attorney, Elaine Young's house..  They had had Dinner and Drinks at CURLEY's tonight and then went dancing at AQUA BAR...He had followed her home in his car..

"I had a really nice time tonight Elaine, the best time I've had in a long time.."said Lt. Tragg.

"I can see that....I had a good time too! A Better time than I expected.." said Elaine with a smile...There was that awkward bit of silence as they stood there and stared at each other...She knew he wanted more..She knew when he asked her out... ''Would you like to come in for some coffee?" she asked.

Of course , no coffee was made ...As soon as they got into the kitchen, they were kissing like two horny high school teenagers on their first date...

"He got some..." said Bresha, assuredly....

ADA Elaine Young walked in with some dark shades and her head held down...

She had spent a night and all of yesterday in bed with Arthur Tragg... She had to make him leave.... She hoped no one realized what she had done.

"Yup, he hit that and she's awoke and sober and ashamed.."said Josie.

"Yup...She's wondering, What the hell did I do?" said Bresha..

Nelson and Beverly cracked up laughing.....

Lt. Tragg walked in with a big wide smile on his face... he looked at us and bowed his head as if to say hello and kept walking...

''You can tell when he's had some good loving..." said Olivia, smiling..

"Indeed" I said, smiling myself...

FRIDAY MORNING- COURTROOM B-

We sat in the courtroom.

Lt. Tragg had that goofy pleased as punch look on his face...He slowly ran his hands up ADA Elaine Young's skirt..softly rubbing her legs..

She instinctly moved her hand to remove his hands...but she stopped..She just held it for a minute, then she let him go as he continued rubbing her legs and palming her butt...

She breathed heavily and her chest began to heave..  Her face was red too....She looked at him and smiled..

He attempted to inch her panties down...She moved his hands away finally and whispered to him... "Ugh Ugh.." Still breathing heavily...

Lt. Tragg smiled sheepishly...He still had that goofy pleased as punch look on his face.

We sat with our client, Julie... 

 

Judge Julie Wong entered the courtroom...

"Good Morning Attorneys...We are going to change things a bit...Due to courtroom overcrowding of cases , and until further notice we are going to bypass a preliminary hearing...We know that a crime, a henious crime has been committed so we are going to go straight to trial.. We will have Jury selection today , right after introduction of the Attorneys..." she said.

ADA Elaine Young stood up, straightened out her clothes and said-

"Assistant District Attorney Elaine Young representing the Commonwealth your honor." she said.

Lt. Tragg sat next to her, inching his hand up under her skirt....and smiling that goofy pleased as punch smile..

She removed his hands , but smiled sweetly at him... "Ugh Ugh." she whispered...

Our Client , Julie Romney sat pensively... 

"Lead Attorney Olivia Bennett-Alexander for the defense your honor." said Olivia.

"Attorney Beverly West -East...Second Chair Your Honor." said Beverly.

''Assisting Attorney, Nelson East, for the defense your honor." said Nelson.

''Assisting Attorney, Josephine Boyd, for the defense your honor." said Josie.

''And Assisting Attorney, Bresha Billips, for the defense your honor." said Bresha.

"Alright , We will have Jury selection today , now that the attorneys have been introduced...." said Judge Wong.

Elaine Young was intelligent and intuitive...She was able to give Nelson quite a battle but not much..

Olivia had complete faith in Nelson and he never let her down... He got an 8-4 split ,going our way...

Olivia , Beverly and I nodded our approval to him...

"Alright...We have a jury now, It is Friday... Trial will begin promptly in this courtroom on Monday Morning at 10:00 AM .  Attorneys be on time and be ready for trial..." said the Judge...

Lt. Tragg and Elaine couldn't wait for the hearing to be over...they immediately went into the Judge's chambers..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU ARE SOOOO BADD...I ALMOST HAD AN ORGASM IN THE COURTROOM..." Elaine said.

"I ALMOST BLEW MY LOAD.." said Lt. Tragg..

"Oh My God!!!....I'm so embarrassed...I'm , I'm so sorry Your Honor..." said Elaine Young, fixing her clothes..

"It'll never happen again your honor." said Lt. Tragg as he hurriedly fixed his clothes and exited..

We just happened to be walking by as they exited...

 "This is going to be a lulu of a trial." said Olivia, laughing....

"Yeah I can see that." I said. Thinking of the two times Olivia and I had slipped in those very chambers for some freaky sneaky... We had never gotten caught.

"Those two are hot for each other... He didn't get slapped in the courtroom...."said Beverly...

"That's because she liked it.."laughed Nelson.. Remembering when He and Beverly had done the Hibbity  Bibbity in these chambers after a big trial...

"Yes she did... They couldn't wait for court to let out...They ran right to the Judges Chambers."laughed Josie. Maybe Josie was the only one of us  who had never done anything in those chambers.

Bresha laughed, but didn't say anything... She remembered her and Pinkney Bach doing the nasty in those same chambers and later on , her and her future husband, Tony doing it on the Judges Couch in those same chambers... She wasn't ever going to do that again...but the memories made her smile wryly...She had shared a kiss with Tyrell, before he met and got involved with Renee and before she married Tony in those Judges Chambers also..

"I'll bet a lot has gone on in those chambers that we don't know about.." said Julie..

She had no idea.

That Night we all met at the No ID Bar for drinks, refreshments and fellowship.... 

 "Lord Olivia...you got a trial starting Monday and Monday we close our Federal Case ..We both need drinks tonight girl." said Yvette.

"You know it...Tomorrow after Brunch...Let's all go to Cherry Hill...and to that Comedy Club that night...We can bring a change of clothes...Tanya Mosely said we can use that hotel we stayed at during her trial , to change our clothes and relax in...We need some fun this weekend."said Olivia.

"I agree...and then Super Brunch on Sunday at Josie." said Gary.

"Yeah, we'll enter that trial on Monday on a good note." I said.

"Another fun filled weekend."laughed Keith Jones.

"Yeah..we do lead charmed lives sometimes."said Bee Bee.

"Hooking up with Ms. Yvette and Ms. Olivia was good for us." said Sofia.

"Sure was... We wouldn't be this happy anywhere else."said Kahlil.

"Here Here!"said Jade, who loved how we all had practically taken her in when she came to America.

Her Husband, Danny Ho hugged her and squeezed her tightly..

Ms. Virginia sat on her husband, Jetty' s lap, feeding him shrimp and kissing him..

He had the same goofy pleased as punch look on his face as Lt. Tragg.

Olivia leaned back into my chest and sipped her drink...She kicked her heels off....

"Yup, might as well" said Beverly, who mimicked her auntie, leaning back into Nelson's chest as she sipped her drink..

Nelson rubbed her legs softly and allowed his hands to slyly slip up her skirt..rubbing her legs..She just held his hand  for a minute, then she let him go as he continued rubbing her legs and palming her butt...She breathed heavily and her chest began to heave.She smiled at her husband.He smiled at her...

Soon they were kissing passionately...

Josie sat on Paris's Lap...

Tony smiled serenely, holding her and rocking her back and forth...

Alfreda and Rockland sat in a corner kissing passionately .....We were indeed comfortable tonight.. 

 

Jazzy and Dabnis were kissing passionately and taking breaks to sip their drinks....

Kayla was leaning back into Ray's chest as she sipped her drink..

"There is a lot of P.D.A. going on in here tonight."laughed Karen Page.

"Yes indeed...I'm glad we are staying with Olivia tonight..."said B.L. looking around

and newlyweds, Renee and Tyrell..  No one was watching us..No one was telling anybody to "Break it up"and wondering if us "high fallutin attorneys would be drinkin or drivin... It was so much more comfortable in here....

with Chicken, Shrimp and plenty to drink...Comfortable in our little section of the bar...

While at ADA Young's house...

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU  LIEUTENANT!!" she cooed..

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...OUUUUUUUUUUU ELAINE!" he moaned.

It was the beginning of a great weekend for us all..

MONDAY MORNING  10:00 AM, COURTROOM B-

Assistant District Attorney Elaine Young was no slouch she made her opening statement.. saying that our client, Julie Romney had a record for lateness...That she had been late seven other times before the night of the exhibit...On the night of the exhibit...Arthur Mallick had had as much as he could take and he fired her publicly...

She showed the photos of his dead body, shot with a .22 at close range , three times, lying on the floor of the gallery...

She showed the Autopsy report, declaring the time of death as 12: 15 AM...just two hours after he gala event ended...

She presented a fingerprint expert , who testified that Julie Romney's fingerprints were on the back door..the door that was opened and the alarm that was triggered at 12:23 AM.....

She brought 15 people who were at the event , who testified that they were at the event and they heard the argument and the firing of Julie Romney...

On Cross Examination Olivia, who was also present, asked each and everyone of them how long they stayed... Most of them left before she herself did... She got them to admit that beside the argument and the firing , they never saw Julie Romney again that night after she was fired and left the Gallery...

That was kind of a victory for the defense...

Beverly, Josie and Bresha kept her on her toes with their many objections, all based on previous and similar trials, predicates and laws relating to the case...

Elaine found them annoying and yet had a grudging respect for them...

"They do their homework...They prepare well." she said, exhausted after spending a day jousting with the three..

"Ahhhhhhh they twist and turn the law around to suit them." said Lt. Tragg, back to his old self...

On the third day of the trial...

Elaine spent the day jousting with Nelson and Olivia.

who were selectively taking her already weak and circumstantial case apart like surgeons....

Retired Detective Robert Romney nodded his approval... These lawyers were fighting like hell to save his daughter.

He didn't know that we had a surprise witness..... News Anchorwoman, Marlee Holston... She had refused Milton's calls for a meeting...So Imagine her surprise when Milt cornered her at her favorite Rooftop Restaurant and Bar...

ONE WEEK BEFORE!

"Ms. Holston, you are indeed a hard woman to catch up with..." said Milt as he sat down next to her.

''And you're a hard person to lose...If you don't leave me alone...I'm going to call the police.." she said.

"No need for that Ms. Holston....He'll be leaving with me.." I said.

"Who the hell are you?" she asked.

"My Name is Donnie Ray Alexander....I'm an investigator for the attorneys defending Julie Romney, the young woman accused of killing your friend ,Arthur Mallick." I said.

"I don't know any Arthur Mallick or Julie Romney, so what has this got to do with me?" she said.

"Oh I beg to differ....but I'm not going to argue with you....This is a subpoena... Come to court and tell us how you never knew Arthur Mallick of James Fabrisco..." I said.

"Good Day Ms. Holston " I said as Milton and I got up..

"You seem so nice on TV." said Milt as we both left...

She looked at him like she wanted to kill him..

WEDNESDAY  AFTERNOON  3:00 PM, COURTROOM B-

Assistant District Attorney Elaine Young  closed her case..... 

 "Good Job guys, Good Job...We put a dent in her case...Considering how weak the evidence against her is.... ADA Young did a superb job....Tomorrow is our turn." said Olivia.

"Once we put our witness on...We'll win this case." I said , assured!

"How we doing Hubby?" asked Beverly...

"That jury looks split 6-6 right now. I might even say 7-5 the prosecutions way...but they definitely all aren't sold.....I can see it in their eyes, their body language." said Nelson...

"Well we did the best we could... We haven't begun our defense yet.." said Josie.

"Tomorrow is our chance to convince those other six or seven jurors." said Bresha.

IV-

THURSDAY MORNING- COURTROOM B- 10:00 AM

It was our turn...We began our defense... We had sat through three days of prosecution...Now we were prepared to win the other six or seven jurors over to our side. 

Olivia gave us one last pep talk.

"Okay guys, this is for all the marbles people..We've got to put our best show on...Now you guys did well, you put doubt in at least some of the jurors minds...remember, reasonable doubt..We have to prove reasonable doubt." she said.

 

I smiled...She looked so sexy, so focused... I loved it when she was in teaching mode...Coaching mode..

I whispered in her ear...

"You don't know how aroused I am at this moment.."

"Yes I do." she smiled at me with a sexy confidence and winked devilishly...

"This ought to be be fun... On TV Marlee Holston seems so arrogant, so self assured.. It's going to be fun to cut her down to size."said Beverly...

"If I didn't know better...I'd say you don't like her." joked her husband, Nelson.

"That's a fair assessment...I don't like her either..." said Josie, with a smile.

Our client, Julie sat quietly, contrite...She knew this was the most important part of the trial.

Bresha rubbed her shoulders, assuring her that we had this.

We called her to the stand first...We wanted her to tell her story...

''What happened that night at the Art Gallery, Julie?" asked Olivia.

"Olivia.. when I left there that night after he fired me...I was angry, furious....but I didn't kill anybody...I don't even own a  gun...I went to the Pawn Shop...Here are my slips and receipts...He gave me $1200.00 for my cameras...I didn't even get a chance to spend it."said Julie.

On Cross , Elaine Young went hard on her , trying to break her down....but she didn't break...

We had prepped her by having Jazzy, Natalie and Brooke, all former Assistant District Attorneys go at her with even worse questions....All bringing her to tears..., but getting her ready for the type of shellacking she was going to get from ADA Elaine Young..

She held her ground well and never broke once.. She was  excellent.

Nelson presented the Pawn Shop Manager, who testified that Julie did come to his shop right before closing at around quarter to 11:00 with some cameras and he gave her $1200.00 in total for all of them..

She was distraught because she had lost her job he said, but not angry or furious...

Olivia called Marlee Hoston to the stand...

She walked confidently up to the stand and was sworn in...She stared icily at Olivia... She knew who she was...She had heard of her over the years...She was not a fan...She felt like Lt. Tragg that we "bent and twisted the law to fit our narrative.

"Ms. Holston, tell us about your relationship with Arthur Mallick." said Olivia.

"There was no relationship...I don't know any Arthur Mallick..." she said.

"I'm going to remind you that you are under oath and that the penalty for perjury is up to six years incarceration...Now you're maybe a year or two older than me, but you used to model for him, just as I did..I know you did...I remember seeing you in New York...when I was in law school and I was modeling for him,  myself."said Olivia.

"I think you're mistaken....Even though I know who you are..This is my first time actually meeting you."said Marlee..

"I'm not mistaken about that." said Olivia.

"Asked and Answered....Argumentative." said ADA Young..

"Move Along Counselor." said Judge Wong.

"Tell me about your relationship with James Fabrisco. I suppose you don't know him either?" asked Olivia.

"Again...I don't know any James Fabrisco."said Marlee...

"Marlee, that's not trueeeeeee..."said Beverly, who pulled out a 50 inch Monitor and began to show the jurors lurid photos of Marlee Holston, with James Fabrisco...

The Jury gasped and was titillated by the photo's....

"You've been a badddddde girl Marlee.....That is definitely you in these photos taken recently...  You knew him....You knew him in the biblical sense." said Beverly.....

The Jury burst into gales of laughter.....

Marlee Blushed...She had turned James Fabrisco's apartment upside down trying to find them..

"WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! WHERE DID YOU GET THESE PHOTOS??" she asked incredulous..

She was furious and she glared at both Beverly and her aunt Olivia with an icy hatred...

I smiled wryly.....

"James Fabrisco also modeled for Arthur Mallick and the two of them were working together to Blackmail you and two other women...We have Cancelled checks and Bank statements showing you sent a large amount of money to Arthur Mallick every month to keep these photos from ever being made public and we know that he broke off James Fabrisco a chunk of the proceeds he got from you and two other women." said Nelson showing the defense exhibits to the jury....

Elaine objected.... "Objection! Relevance...Neither Arthur Mallick, the victim, this James Fabrisco, whoever  and wherever he is or Ms. Holston are on trial here." she argued..

"It all goes to motive your honor...Motive. James Fabrisco was found dead in his apartment days ago....The victim of a hotshot....The Medical Examiner says in this report that he was murdered just hours befor Arthur Mallick....We have proven Arthur Mallick was using James Fabrisco to blackmail Ms. Holston, extort money from her.. What better motive to take both of these men out?" said Olivia..

"I'll allow this..but get to the point.."said Judge Wong..

"We intend to do just that your honor." said Olivia, who nodded to Josie to continue...

"The Point is...YOU KILLED ARTHUR MALLICK MS. HOLSTON...You killed him, after you killed James Fabrisco and you are the only one of the three women being blackmailed , that did not send a check for this month...You also don't have an alibi for the time period, unlike the other two women, who had already paid him this month."said Josie.

"This is pure speculation your honor." protested ADA Young.

"You're crazy...That night...I was doing my broadcast..." said Marlee...

''Ask a question or make a valid point." said Judge Wong.

"Yes Your honor...I don't think so Marlee, you were not at work.....Your portion of the broadcast was pre-recorded.....I checked...or rather my husband checked...You were off that night...you're the only one of those women being blackmailed that doesn't have an alibi...So my question is... Where were you? "asked Olivia.

Her face was as red as a beat.....She sat silent.

"Answer the question Ms. Holston." said the Judge.

"That's okay.... I'll tell you where you were Ms. Holston" said Bresha..."You met with James Fabrisco that afternoon, you two had sex and after he came and was relaxing, you stuck a needle in his neck...with a fast acting poison that killed him...We know you were there because you left these behind.. PANTIES!...." she said dramatically... The males on the jury and in the visitors section howled with laughter.

"You left your panties behind... It's loaded with his semen and your DNA also....your sweat and feminine juices...I have several people from three laboratories who will testify, Our M.E.'s office, The FBI LAB and an independent DNA laboratory....Plus we found your fingerprints all over his apartment...YOU WERE THERE." said Bresha.

The Males in the Jury and the visitors section all gasped and ouuuued and ahhhed upon seeing the sexy black thong and imagining Marlee Holston in them.

"You murdered James Fabrisco and then you went to the Gallery and hid somewhere and when everybody was gone...You gunned down Arthur Mallick!!!... You got rid of your two blackmailers in one night.. Only thing, you couldn't find these photos...We found your fingerprints everywhere."said Beverly.....

"Tell us again how you weren't there Marlee? AND THAT YOU DON'T KNOW ARTHUR MALLICK OR JAMES FABRISCO?" said Nelson.

"You can't prove any of this." she said...now visibly nervous..

"Your palm print is on the ladies rest room door of the Art Gallery and your fingerprints are also on the back door, the emergency door that Julie ran out of setting off the alarm after she saw the dead body....You were still there...You ran out right behind her...We know....because this is a street cam photo of your car leaving the scene at 12:35 AM..If you were working as you say....Your Palm print and your fingerprint have no business at that Gallery..Nor your car on that street at 12:35!" said Olivia.

"I'd....I'd....I'd like to speak to an attorney. I'm not answering anymore of your questions." said Marlee Holston...

"That's a good idea...A damn good idea Marlee."said Beverly, smiling sweetly...

"The Defense Rests." said Olivia...

FRIDAY MORNING- COURTROOM B- 10:00 AM

"Has the jury come to a decision?" asked Judge Julie Wong.

" We have your honor." said the Jury Forewoman...

"Bailiff bring me the verdict." she said.

The Bailiff brought her the verdict....She read it without showing any emotion..

"Read the verdict." she said.

"COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA IN THE MATTER OF JULIA LOUISE ROMENY ON THE COUNT OF MANSLAUGHTER, WE FIND HER NOT GUILTY!"

"COUNT TWO, 2nd DEGREE MURDER, WE FIND THE DEFENDENT, NOT GUILTY!"

"COUNT THREE, FIRST DEGREE MURDER, WE FIND THE DEFENDENT, NOT GUILTY!!!"

"AND COUNT FOUR USING AN INSTRUMENT OF CRIME IN THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, WE  FIND THE DEFENDENT , NOT GUILTY." he said.

The Jury was polled and each juror to a man said the same thing, Not Guilty on all charges... 

Olivia and Beverly leaped up in the air and high fived each other...

"WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" as they always did after a victory..

Nelson shook hands with Robert Romney...

Julie Romney got a job as a photographer with a major East Coast Magazine and eventually paid her legal fees, even though we told her she didn't have to...
MONDAY AFTERNOON , THREE DAYS AFTER THE TRIAL-

Today was a mild day....We were eating lunch with our friends at the Bridge Building on the rooftop dining area.. We had a great view of the River and Penns Landing from the roof of this building.

 

"It's a beautiful day Olivia...We had an acquittal Friday too! " said Yvette.

" I was so relieved." said Olivia.

"What are you gonna do Ms. Olivia?" asked Keith Jones

"It's Monday ,I'm going to relax and wait for the next case to come up." said Olivia.

"Aint that the truth Girlfriend?" said Yvette, high fiving Olivia.

Karen smiled...She and her Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Staff had teamed up with the Innocence Project and Yvette's team for their last case..A Big sprawling case that had taken most of the month...She was relieved to be done with it..

"I'm going to Bernadete's to get my hair done tomorrow."said Bee Bee. "Wanna Come?" she asked.

"Yeah ,I could use a wash and a prep."said Sofia.

"You two are so cute...You do everything together."laughed Beverly, who just loved Bee Bee and Sofia.

"Man, I know it's Monday....but I feel like a nice cold one after work." said Kahlil.

"Me too! I don't see why we all can't go across the street to No I.D. for an hour after work and dinner."said Jade.

"Yeah.....these trains run pretty good.That's a good idea...Right after dinner." said Virginia.

''Why not?? Hang around Olivia...."said Jetty.

"I can do that....and ride back on the train with you guys....Lt. Tragg is back on the prowl again..His great love affair with ADA Elaine Young is over."said Olivia.

 

"Yeah and I Imagine he's meaner than a rattlesnake right now." I said, smiling.

"Yeah...for a short moment...He was happy, human even." said Beverly.

"He still loused up that case...Had they have won...They'd be in bed right now...Doing the serious Hibbity Bibbity."said Nelson.

"Yeah and we'd really need a drink." said Josie.

Her husband Paris, cracked up laughing....

"I wanted them to make it as a couple." said Bresha.

"Any woman with that guy was only going to be around for a short period, once they get to know him."said her husband Tony..

"You're right Tony.....but she did have him dancing...I had no idea he could dance so good."laughed Jazzy.
 

"I just hope he doesn't come to Aqua Bar ..We need places we can go without him popping up." laughed Dabnis.

"He won't be in there,,,,,He was just there because Elaine brought him there...He's strictly a CURLEY'S guy." said Kayla.

  "Thank goodness for that. Let's hope no other woman wants to bring him there." said her husband Ray....

Jessica breathed deeply and looked at the sky.... "This is such a nice mild day.....I could lay here in this beach chair forever." she said.

"Enjoy it while you can...When it gets cold we'll be eating strictly inside." said her husband Chip...

''Well guys and gals...It's almost time to go back to work." said Karen.

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" said Natalie playfully....

"Heyyyy that's what keeps the lights on and the water running."laughed her husband, David.

"Yeah." sighed Brooke.

"I envy you guys , having this nice building with a Gym, A Spa, and a five star restaurant..." said Sean, who worked down the street, but ate all of his meals here to be with his wife, Brooke.

.."I'm so glad to be here..." said Zoey...

"Yeah me too, this is a dream come true." said Lem.

"I think some cold ones over at NO ID. would be right in order tonight." said Renee.

"Yeah it's early in the week...but we deserve it." said her husband, Tyrell.

.Olivia sat in my lap and leaned her head into my shoulders...

"Such a lovely day huh?" she said.

 

"Indeed!" I said.   I was enjoying the peace before the next big case.. We all were...It was rare we all had a peaceful day like this.

Beverly looked out at the city and just sighed...

Her husband, Nelson held her tightly and squeezed her....

Josie and Paris were doing the same...

''What do you want to do tonight? Besides the obvious?" asked Bresha to her husband, Tony....

''Oh I don't know.. Some Cold Ones after work and then head home.." laughed Tony, squeezing her tight.

 

"I'm walking over to the Fashion District.....I saw a pocketbook I might like to pick up." said Yvette.

"I want to go in the NIKE Store.. I saw some new kicks  in there."said Keith Jones.

"I'm going with Ms. Yvette."said Bee Bee.

"Me too!" said Sofia  smiling.

"I may stick around the office...I've got some files to put away.." said Kahlil.

"I'm going over to the Fashion District with Ms. Yvette."said Jade.

"Yall are leaving me all alone." said Ms. Virginia..

"Heh heh heh...you don't have to be alone baby." said her husband, Jetty...

Olivia smiled  and  looked over at all of us, her staff and her enlarged family and smiled serenely.....

Just another nice balmy Fall day in Philadelphia, enjoying lunch with friends....
