"I'll start making calls today T." said Alvin Davis.

''No Al, baby, sweetie.. this calls for a personal touch...Go approach Yvette and her people first...They're in the Bridge Building.. She's a Managing Partner of McCluskey/Cozen/Connor & Pratt now.. she deserves this kind of respect. Same with Olivia...She owns her own Boutique Law firm... She should be approached personally." said Tanya Mosley.

"Right T." said Alvin Davis.

Alvin had been her ace, her personal attorney for years... They were an odd team, A Black woman and a Black Gay man, both attorneys, both trying to navigate in this strange political client..They were fast friends.. He became her personal attorney fighting a lot of these battles for her by himself. It was getting tiresome.

Since she had become States Attorney , she had been the target of  a certain Attorney who wanted her job... 

Former District Attorney Royce Barnes..He was the father of a former  Philadelphia  Assistant District Attorney Margaret Barnes.

She was now an Assistant District Attorney in Bayside.

Tanya Mosley  had nothing against her.. Nothing at all. Her father was a different story. She totally despised the man.

 Ex-D.A. Royce Barnes was another story...He had lost his race for States Attorney to her.. and never got over it.. He went on Television and criticized her every decision.. He tried unsuccessfully to accuse of her of other scandals and now just months before she was scheduled to run for re-election , he had gotten the U.S. Attorney's office to accuse her of this...And now she was about to be indicted..

The Feds were bringing in a big gun...A U.S. Attorney who specialized in these kind of corruption cases.. William "Bill" Strong..

She and Alvin felt as though they had a bullseye on their backs.. They appeared on HARD BOTTOM

And told host B.L. Benz that they felt this case was a personal vendetta launched by former D.A.

Royce Barnes and that they intended to fight this and take it all the way...

II-

MONDAY NIGHT-

Tony Billips and Paris drove the UHAUL Truck... Bee Bee, Sofia, Me, Kahlil, Jazzy, Dabnis, Kayla, Ray, Jessica and Chip helped Virginia unpack her things which had been in storage all this time and set up her apartment for her.

"We used to live in this  same apartment complex, The four of us, Me and Sofia and Keith and Kahlil down the hall from us.....right after we passed the bar and began working at McCluskey/Cozen/Connor/Pratt." said Bee Bee.

"Yeah...I find it ironic, you're right next door to where Bee and I used to live." said Sofia.

"It's not like my condo, but it's comfortable and I've got my privacy... I want to thank you all for helping me unpack and get everything together." said Virginia.

"No problem...You're part of us now..We're all six blocks away. Come visit us sometimes." I said.

"Yeah, you can stop down and have dinner with us. In fact, Sofia and I would like to have you over one day next week." said Kahlil.

"We know you don't have a car yet...One of us will pick you up and bring you back." I said.

"AWWWWWWWW You all are soooo nice." said Virginia.

"I lived right across the street in those apartments.." said Jade.. pointing to the apartments across the street.

We all got married  and bought houses on Ms. Yvette's Block..We had been to her house and we loved it...We loved the houses.. and they were all these vacancies and we loved the houses, so we bought the three homes just before we all got married." said Jade.

"Wowwwww. You guys are more than just employees...." said Virginia..

"Yeah we are family." said Bee Bee.

"Some people would say we are like a commune, our close living quarters and lifestyle.

We work together, hang out together... Not just the six of us..All of us." said Sofia.

Jazzy, Dabnis, Kayla, Ray, Jessie and Chip agreed!

" She's right. I lived in a Condo too before we bought our house .which is down the street from them in the next block.   I was alone most of the time. I was dating him, but he lived half way across town in another condo.."said Jasmine.

"Yeah, When we came to see each other, we had to stay over...It was too far of a drive back. When we got married, we decided we wanted to live near Black people again..So we bought the house we are in now, which is like she said down the street from them. "said Dabnis.

''Same Here.. I had a nice loft in town and my husband had a loft in Cherry Hill." said Kayla.

"Yeah when we got married, Liv hooked us up with our realtor and we wound up buying a house on that same block right across from them."said Gary.

"I didn't live in a condo...I had a small apartment, but it was the same thing.. Chip and I lived too far from each other. We got married and Liv hooked us up with her realtor and me and Chip bought the house next door to Yvette and Gary." said Jessica.

''And there you have it...We are all one nice happy family. Living on the same block. "laughed Chip.

"My goodness, you all live on the same block and work in the same building..wowwwwwww...

And you all ride the train to work in the morning huh?" said Virginia.

"We didn't plan on working in the same building... That just happened.. It's a new building and our firms all bought office space there.  We love it.. A Gym, a nice Cafeteria with good food. Your train station is just two blocks up that way...Until you get a car...You'll probably run into us in the morning on the train.... We don't drive unless we have a court date. You'll definitely ride home with us." said Kahlil.

''We're a tight knit group of friends who have all worked with one another throughout the years, even before we wound living together and working in the same building." said Bee Bee.

"Our team has worked with Olivia and Beverly since day one.. and some days we work remotely from their office /duplex across the street from us.. We met Jessica and Chip while visiting a client at Stanga State Prison, found out we were all from Philly and worked a few cases together later on...And Dabnis and Ray have worked cases with us before and since they got married." I explained.

''I see.. I like yall...I think I'm gonna like working with you guys...all of you guys.. I know Josie's isn't too far from here...Do you guys go to Aqua Bar and Stoleys too?" asked Virginia.

''Sure Do.." said Sofia.

"That's our spots." said Jessica.

"Saturday, we all have to go to these three shopping centers, show me where I can get my hair and nails done..The works.. Buy some new clothes."said Virginia.

"You got it! It's a date.. Kayla, Beverly ,Josie, Bresha and I will come and get you." laughed Jazzy.

''And Friday night, we all go to Stoleys, then Aqua Bar and eventually Josies.."said Kayla.

"You look like Josies is your speed...They have live Jazz on Saturdays...but five .D.J.'s on Friday Night." said Ray....

"I used to go to Salsa night at Aqua Bar...Do they still do that?" asked Virginia.

"Yeaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" laughed Jessica.

''I'm in."laughed Virginia.

"Ha ha.. Welcome to the fam." laughed Dabnis.

At the same time ,six blocks away...a different conversation is being had.

At Olivia and Beverly's Office/ Duplex , Olivia and Beverly and their team and Yvette  are entertaining Attorney Alvin Davis.

"States Attorney Tanya Mosley is under attack,.She wants to wage an all out war to not only prove her innocence, but to checkmate her opponent once and for all..A man you all may be aware of Former District Attorney Royce Barnes... Olivia..I know you have a nasty taste in your mouth for him with the stunt he pulled to help his daughter a few years ago when you were trying to get Cora Bey released...I read your brief..It was Brilliant.. And I thought that stunt he pulled was unconscionable..but you pulled it out anyway... He's running again and he's pulling out all of the stops to smudge and sully Tanya Mosley...He's got A U.S. Attorney who I know you're familliar with, Bill Strong pressing the case against her...You guys battled with him and won...She wants you and your team and she wants you and your team too Yvette..She studied the way you put together Olivia and Beverly's defense last year in that civil case.. She thought it was just short of brilliant...She said for you all to name your price...She wants you on her team." said Alvin Davis.

"I'm in...I'm still angry at what Royce Barnes did to us back then." said Olivia.

"I didn't like him when he was District Attorney."said Beverly.

"I mean Garcetti is no walk in the park, but he's miles and miles better than Royce Barnes was.I'm in." said Nelson.

"I voted for Tanya Mosley when she ran for States Attorney....I'm in."said Josie.

"I voted for her too..I'm in if you guys are." said Bresha.

''Well, our team is in." said Donnie Ray.

''And speaking for my team...even though they are not here..I'm in.. Which means ,We are in also!" said Ms. Yvette.

"That's a quorum..Seven to Five." said Olivia.

We all laughed.

"Today is Monday... Tanya wants to meet you all in person on Wednesday...Pick a location, it can be here or your office Yvette." said Alvin Davis.

"Let's meet at your office Vettie..It's new...And we can work out a schedule , Days we'll all meet here and days we'll meet at your place." said Olivia.

"That'll work... I'll see everybody on Wednesday." said Yvette, smiling and happy to be working with her sister and best friend, Olivia again.

III-

Nightfall came

Virginia settled into her new digs.. Her doorbell rang.

It was Judge Jetty Dukes with a bottle of wine.

''You following me or something?" laughed Virginia.

"Uh Noooooooooooo, I was going to come over here and help you unpack, but you're all set up and squared away." said Jetty Dukes.

"That's because I had help.. 13 nice young people helped me. " she said.

"Well pull up two glasses and let's crack this bottle." he said.

She did and within the next TWO HOURS of quiet conversation and drinking..they emptied the bottle..

He smiled and lit a joint..

He opened the window.. They both smoked it down....

They were good and mellow... Jetty Dukes unzippered her jeans..

"Man, these pants  are tight..." he said.

''To keep horn dogs like you out of them." she laughed as she slipped out of them and took her top off..

She neatly folded her clothes and put them on the chair near her bed. He watched her every move...

She and Jetty Dukes began kissing and he began running his hands down in her panties.

"OH MY GODDDDDDD!" Jetty said, gasping as he stared at her..

Virginia smiled.

He had her panties on the floor and legs in the air within minutes..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I'M beginning to think this is all you think about...OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUWOUUUUUUUUU!" she cooed.

He laughed ruefully.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GIRRRRRRRRRLLLLL!" he moaned....

"OHHHHHHHHHHH! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!! OHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDD!" she cried out as he placed her on the drawer and thrusted mightily into her...

He bent her over the bed and entered her doggie style...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GIRRRRRRRRRLLLLL!" he moaned....

"OHHHHHHHHHHH! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!! OHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDD!" she cried

They sat on the side of the bed..She began moving up and down on him slowly .......

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYY GOOODNESSSSS!" she cooed.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" he moaned silently..

They soon began making love.. slowly and quietly at first, but then faster and harder.. missionary style in the bed..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

OUUUUUUU OUUUUUUUU WOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" she moaned.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMPH!" he moaned.

EIGHT TO NINE HOURS of lovemaking  slipped by before they both came and came hard, bodies trembling.

Out of prison four days and laid three times...It didn't get any better than this, she thought.

as she cuddled in his arms..

WEDNESDAY- Her first day at work.

Virginia sat at the big round table with all of us..

''This is so much to take in." said Virginia.

''Relax...you're part of us now..We won't let you fail..We are all family." said Ms. Yvette.

"Yes." said Bee Bee.

"You'll be fine." I said.

''Sure you will." said Sofia.

"Let's eat...We have a big meeting today." said Kahlil.

Ms. Jade smiled as we began to make short work of the eggs, pancakes, hash browns, sausage, orange juice and coffee

that arrived.

Our other friends and neighbors, Jazzy, Dabnis, Kayla, Ray, Tony Billips, Jessica and Chip all wandered in and sat down with their food...

ADA Karen Page came in... She waved at Virginia..

"Welcome to our building." she said.

"Thank You." said Virginia.

She liked all of these people, but she still didn't feel like she fit in with them...At least not yet, but she was getting there.

Upstairs in Yvette's office.. There were roses awaiting Virginia.

"They're all for you Ms. Virginia."said Bee Bee.

"There' No name on them." said Sofia.

"Uh Oh... The Wolves know you're out...You've got male admirers already." Laughed Ms. Yvette.

Kahlil and I and Ms. Jade all smiled.

Ms. Virginia smiled... She knew who they were from... Judge Jetty Dukes...

IV-

Just like Alfreda. Virginia had our conference room/law library clean and ready for our meeting  with

Hot Coffee, Orange Juice and Water for everyone..

Ms. Yvette briefed Me, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil and Ms. Jade on what the meeting was about and who was coming..

Olivia , Beverly, Nelson, Josie, Bree and Donnie Ray came in and sat down.. We always loved it when we got to work with them...Now was no different...We were tickled pink to not only be working with them, but to be helping out States Attorney Tanya Mosley, someone we all admired and had voted for.

Her Attorney Alvin Davis walked in first, followed by Ms. Mosley... He had at one time been Chief counsel for the LGBTQ United Fund..Now he was States Attorney Mosley's Personal Attorney. He was pleased to be having the extra help on this case. He smiled brightly upon entering our office.

"Good Morning, Good Morning everyone...We were running a little late, Traffic was murder this morning." he said.

"Good Morning, Good Morning... Olivia, Yvette, we have met...but this is the first time I get to meet the wonderful and beautiful staff you have here... And let me say first, Congratulations on you making partner....This is a beautiful office you have." said Tanya.

"Why Thank you... this is my staff,

We all introduced ourselves.. She knew all about us... Here as well as in court, she was always prepared..

"Let's get down to cases....As you know...I'm running for re-election... I'm running against the same man who I beat several years ago.. Former District Attorney Royce Barnes..

He has always played fast and loose with such things as facts and the truth..Anything to win a case.. He hated losing to me...Since I have been States Attorney he has gone out of his way to smear me in every way possible and Alvin here has fought him every step of the way...This is his latest attempt to smear me..I am  now under federal indictment for supposedly lying about experiencing COVID-related hardship on an application where I  asked to withdraw $83,000 from my Philadelphia retirement account.That was my money..He looks at everything and anything and uses it against me.. He or someone from his office has brought this ludicress case before the U.S. Attorney's office and unlike the other allegations, 

U.S. Attorney Bill Strong has bought it hook line and sinker and got a federal grand jury to indict me.

Just a few months before the election... You understand the position this puts me in don't you?

That's why I want you guys.. You know both of them and you've beaten both of them and I want you to pull out all of the stops to beat them again.. Then I'll have to do damage control to have a chance at re-election." said Tanya Mosley.

''We'll set up a work schedule..and we'll call you Alvin...We'll be working here and remotely at Liv's..

We'll let you know when and where we'll be meeting. Starting Monday." said Yvette.

''Excellent.."said Alvin.

Virginia walked in and cleared the table and then gathered up our paper work...

"Virginia Shaw, the attorney? Wowwwww, I thought you were incarcerated." said Alvin Davis.

"I was...for seven years...I was paroled recently..." said Virginia.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so you...you...you are working here now huh?" said Alvin.

"Yes.. I'm an uh Office Manager ....I needed to be close to the law, even though I obviously don't practice anymore." she said.

"Good For you girl..Good for you...Good Luck to you... I uh have to leave.. I have a Campaign committee meeting I have to be at.. Thank you for agreeing to represent me....I am humbled and in your debt." said Tanya as she left..

I handed Alvin Davis two Portals.

"Here Alvin... This is a Portal for you and one for Tanya.. You can communicate with us through these

Portals anytime you can't make it to the office...They're clean.." I said.

"Likewise...So are these Burner phones...You can call us..These phones are clean.. Just so we aren't compromised..  We have our office swept three times a week...To make sure we are at a secure site."said Nelson.

"Likewise, we have this office swept also.." said Kahlil..

"You guys leave nothing to chance...I like that. but I expect nothing less...I've been following you all for awhile now.." said Alvin, smiling. "See You guys Monday Morning, here or wherever." he laughed.

"Girlfriend, you're going to fit right in..Welcome back!" said Olivia.

"If I can help you guys in anyway...That'll be satisfaction enough" Virginia said sincerly...

She was Thankful for Olivia's friendship over the years..Olivia was one of the few people who wrote to her while she was incarcerated.. And for Yvette's friendship over the years too! She didn't hesitate to offer her this job when the subject was broached. She would always be in these two women's debts..

Yvette hugged her..

''Welcome to my team." she said.
