With Six You Get Murder

We were on the rooftop of the Apartment Buildings

 that were just a few blocks from where we lived...

The former home of Keith and Beatrice Jones, Sofia and Kahlil Ahmed, Jade Lee-Ho and Virginia as

well as Lee and Matthew Akes, All married now and all living in homes...

 .But we had two friends there..

Toni Robinson and Alexa Pratt...who got in contact with my wife 

Olivia,  and Alfreda and Renee Cantrell Jones and organized our second Rooftop Party of the year...

We had Sausages and Steaks on one grill...

Two Grills with Burgers and Dogs 
 

and a grill with Seafood...

Alexa was playing good music, Classic R&B, Classic Hip Hop, Current Hip Hop mixed with a little smooth jazz...

With us tonight as our guest was Daniel Bristol-Esquire, The Nephew of Businessman-Entreprenuer, Stephon Bristol...  He grew up in the neighborhood with Olivia, Beverly and Kayla and often thought of Olivia as his "Auntie"..  He followed them into the law...Had practiced in New York City for a while and was now back in Philadelphia to stay..

"Thank you Aunt Olivia for putting me up... I'm going to have a place of my own in a few days.." said Danny Bristol.. 

"Oh think nothing of it Danny...It's the least I could do... Your Uncle just had all of us out to his new seaside restaurant at the Beach a week ago..It was great." said Olivia.

 

"So Danny...you're back in Philadelphia..You working?" I asked..

"I am...I just left Lincoln and Hayes and Associates...and my Uncle set me up in an office at one of his clubs...I have a few clients...Clients I took with me from Lincoln and Hayes and new clients." said Danny.

"That's how Auntay and I started out...You'll be okay." said Beverly.

He was only a year younger than Beverly and Kayla and he used to follow them around like a puppy when they were kids... He had a monster crush on Jazzy... Beverly doubted if Jazzy ever realized it.

''Come on Enjoy some of this food..." said Nelson.

"I'm enjoying the view." he whispered, Checking Out Josie 's breasts...

Nelson chuckled...

"Damn!" he said as they both laughed..

''Want some Seafood  darlin?" Josie asked her husband, Paris.

"I want all of the food... I See Food, I eat it." joked Paris..

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! BOOOOOOOO!"laughed Bresha.

"That was pretty bad homeslice.."laughed her husband, Toni..

"I've always loved these rooftop parties....They're close, just blocks away and it's only us...Nobody else."said Alfreda..

"Yeah How about that.I've loved them too!" said her husband, Rockland..

"IS EVERYBODY HAVING A GOOD TIME?" asked our co-host-Alexa Pratt. 

 "YES...ARE YOU HAVING A GOOD TIME BABY?" asked Yvette.

"As good as I possibly can." said Alexa..

''That's all that matters." said Yvette's husband, Gary.

"The food is great, the music is poppin..I'm havin a great time Alexa."said Keith Jones..

"Just like our old rooftop parties...Only this is better. You and Toni did a good job Alexa."said Bee Bee.

"More People..More Food...We are so glad you two live here...So we can still enjoy these parties on the roof." said Sofia.

" I'm with Keith..The food is great, the music is poppin..I'm loving it. Great Job." said Kahlil.

"I can't take all of the credit..I had help, Toni, Olivia, Ms. Alfreda and Renee. It was a team effort."said Alexa.

"I'm loving this...Even the weather is agreeable. It has been raining the past few days." said Jade.

"I know...but it's clear skies tonight.."laughed Danny...

"Oooou Jetty...We never had any rooftop parties when I lived here...I didn't even know about this rooftop."said Virginia.

"You didn't live here that long....and you lived here by yourself."said Jetty.

"These are some good lookin women here Nelson...Are they all married or hooked up?" asked Danny.

"No not the two women who live here who hosted this...but I think one of the two is kinda hooked up."said Nelson, speaking of Toni Robinson and her boyfriend, Eric Sellers...He was helping Me, Gary ,Rockland and Jetty tend to the grills...

"Hopefully the next time you guys have one of these....I'll have a plus one." said Danny.

He spotted Jasmine Coley, who he had once had a monster crush on....She was now married and sitting on her husband's lap.

"Damn Jazzy still looks good...Damn!" he said, shaking his head.

She was talking to another pretty woman who appeared to be by herself..

"Tika Boo, Where is Lester.?" asked Jazzy.

''He's coming." said Natika.

 

"Yeah...I gave him a pass yesterday so he could get into the building and the rooftop."said Dabnis.

"I saw him in the courthouse yesterday." he said.

"That's Danny Bristol, Stephon Bristol's Nephew...and an old childhood friend...He's an Attorney too!

He used to follow me and Beverly and Jazzy everywhere...We used to duck him sometimes.."laughed Kayla.

"Yall was fine can't say that I blamed him."laughed her husband, Ray...

"Hiiiii Everybody!" said Serendipity...

''Dippity Doo, Hi girl!" said Beverly hugging her..

"Hey everybody"said her boyfriend, Kevin...

"Hi Dip, Kevin, glad you could make it."said Kayla.

"Grab a plate and some food....There's Beers and Sodas over there in the corner." said Jazzy.

"Heyyy Dippity Doo.." said Natalie, hugging her.

''Heyy Natalie..Heyy David. The whole Girls High Crew is in Da HOUSEEEEE!" said Serendipity.

"Danny Bristol...I remember you from when you worked at Innocence Project -New York....How are you?   This is my husband, Charles...He works with me now at Innocence Project."said Jessica.

"Hello Mr. Burrows.. I remember him too, when you two came up and worked a case with us." said Danny Bristol...

"Hello Man, come on and grab some of this food." said Chip.

"I'm going to make myself a plate...What do you want?" asked Karen..

"I'll take some of everything."said B.L.

"I'm going to make myself a plate...What do you want?" asked Natalie,.

"You on a plate with just a ribbon tied around you."joked her husband, David.

"You have a vivid imagination....I'll just get you whatever I'm having, A Burger A dog and a Hot Sausage." laughed Natalie.

"Lester, you made it!" said Brooke..

''What's goin on Lester?" said Sean..

"Heyy Everybody...Weekend traffic you know." said Deputy District Attorney Lester Burke..

Natika walked over to him with a platter of food and a beer...

"Thank you baby." he said and kissed her..

"So much food...I don't know what to eat first..."said Zoey...

"You're a seafood girl...Let's go to that grill...That's a fan favorite and the first grill to empty." said her husband, Lem.

"You're not lying...Next time, I'll order more." said Renee.

"My little Attorney/Party planner strikes again." laughed her husband, Tyrell.

"Renee, Olivia, Alfreda, Toni and Alexa organized this...Put this together...The food, the music, everything...They did a great job." said Lee.

"Yeah they did and the weather helped." said her husband, Matthew.

"Yes it did...This is gorgeous weather.." said Nina..

"It really is." agreed her husband, Carlos.

Danny spotted Alexa sitting alone and eating.....

"WHO IS THAT? AND PLEASE TELL ME SHE 'S NOT MARRIED OR HAS  GOT A BOYFRIEND!" said Danny to Beverly...

"You're in luck Danny Boy....That's Alexa...She's an Attorney like you...and she's not married and doesn't have a boyfriend...She lives in this Apartment Complex...She was one of our two contacts who helped us organize this shindig...Want me to introduce you?" asked Beverly..

"Nahhh I got it covered.." he said... He walked over to her with his plate and sat down....

"Wellll Helllllllllooo!" he said.

"Helllo!" said Alexa with a smile...He was handsome...and he appeared to be alone just like her..

Now she had someone to talk to...

Beverly shook her head and smiled.

"So you're an attorney too huh?" said Alexa.

"I think everybody here is with only a few exceptions....I grew up with Beverly, Kayla, Jazzy and Natalie...I loved them...It's no surprise I followed them into the law... I was two years behind them...I went to Temple for undergrad and to Temple for Law School." said Daniel.

"I'm from Chicago....I came here for Undergrad and Law School...Both at University of Pennsylvania..."said Alexa.

"Just like Aunt Olivia and cousin Beverly and Kayla and Jazzy." said Daniel.

"You're not really related to them are you?" asked Alexa.

"No Not really....but I've always felt a kinship to them... My Uncle used to have a thing for Olivia.. They went on the prom together...but nothing went further than that...They've remained friends over the years.. And when Olivia and Beverly went into private practice....My Uncle became one of their first big clients... I used to have a thing for Jazzy, but I don't think she ever knew it...Natalie too!"laughed Daniel.

"How come I've never seen you before?" asked Alexa..

''After I graduated...I moved to New York.. I was a Public Defender in Manhattan District Court for a minute...Then I worked for The Innocence Project in New York...I came back to Philly and worked for Lincoln and Hayes  for awhile  and then the Women's Law Center and then back at Lincoln and Hayes...and now I'm in private practice for myself.. My Uncle has given me an office in one of his clubs.  I have a few well heeled clients.." said Dennis.

"Oh Nice...I'm from Chicago....I went to University of Penn for Undergrad and Law School..." said Alexa.

"OUUU MONEYBAGS!"laughed Dennis.

"No Three Academic Scholarships...."said Alexa..."And some student loans I'm still paying off." she laughed.

"Aren't we all...Hey listen...I like you...I find you extremely attractive...Could I...Could we go out some time? I'd love to take you out.." said Danny.

"Sure...I live in this building, Apartment 304..."said Alexa..

She pulled out her phone..

Daniel pulled out his phone and they exchanged numbers..

"I'm staying down the street at Olivia and Beverly's for the time being..." he said.

 They didn't go unnoticed by us...

"Danny's quite the little operator...Looks like he and Alexa have hit it off."said Olivia.

 

"Yeah, I see." I said.

"I'm happy for Alexa...She's been alone for awhile now...Just throwing herself into work..."said Beverly.

"Yeah that's no way to be.."said Nelson.

"I just hope he does right by her and is not trying to just get in her panties." said Josie.

"He doesn't strike me as that type of guy." said Paris.

"Looks can be deceiving...but I agree with Paris....And from what Olivia and Beverly have told me..he seems to be on the up and up." said Bresha.

"You girls got patterns for your bridesmaid gowns picked out?" asked Tony jokingly....

Alfreda laughed at the conversation she was hearing.

So did Rockland.. 

 "Well Alexa and young Daniel Bristol seemed to have hit it off."said Yvette.

"You noticed that huh?" laughed Gary...

"They've been in that corner talking for an hour and a half.." said Keith Jones..

"I'm happy for Alexa...She needed somebody....It's a drag being at these things with all of these married couples , being alone."said Bee Bee.

"We can't tease her anymore..."laughed Sofia..

"Yeah we really razzed her about Holden Loudon.." said Kahlil.

"I heard he's no longer delivering at the main building.. He's working another route."said Jade.

"Probably doesn't want to see Alexa... It's just as well.."said Danny...

"I think Alexa and this guy look cute together.."said Virginia.

"So do I" said Bee Bee..

"I do too!" said Sofia.

"You girls got patterns for your bridesmaid gowns picked out?" asked Jetty jokingly..

Alexa and Danny Bristol continued to talk the rest of the night...

"Looks like Alexa has made a love connection.."said Jazzy....
 

"Yeah.....They look good together."said Dabnis.

"I'm happy for them..."said Kayla.

"I am too!  Hope it works out.."said Ray..

"She's been alone here for a long time...Her building mate, Toni Robinson has a fella."said Jessica.

"Yeah, her second....It's about time Alexa had one.." said her husband, Chip..observing Toni Robinson and Eric Sellers.

Toni and Eric were in the corner kissing...He was trying to practically blend into her tight mini dress.

Karen was looking out into the street..

"Such a nice night...Nice Breeeze huh?" she said.

"Yeah...I love it..Good Sleeping weather." said B.L.

They looked out into the street from the rooftop.

"This was such a nice night..."said Natalie.

"It was....I'm full..."said David, holding her around the waist....

"I'm full too..We'll all sleep good tonight.." said Brooke.

"Yes indeed!" said Sean...who was holding Brooke around her waist...

"I can't eat or drink another thing.."said Zoey...

"Once again , a nice event Renee..."said Lem...

"I can't take all of the credit for this...Toni and Alexa and Olivia and Alfreda did a lot of the leg work..

I just co-ordinated.."said Renee..

''And a swell job you did at that.." said her husband, Tyrell.

"Look, here come the buses..." said Lee..

"Wow, I almost forgot we don't live here anymore....I was getting ready to go downstairs..."laughed

Matthew...He was holding Lee around her waist and nibbling on her earlobes...

Nina laughed out loud...

So did her husband, Carlos....

We packed everything and everybody up in the buses and our catering vehicle and pulled off... It was 2:30 am..We had a short ride home...Lester and Natika had left a half hour ago...So had Serendipity and Kevin... It was nice seeing them all here.

Daniel Bristol and Alexa Pratt were still sitting on the rooftop terrace talking after everyone had left..

Also that night, while we were enjoying our rooftop party... In Chinatown, a double murder has occurred outside of Eddie Lee's tony restaurant, which is also a front for his floating crap game, which goes on upstairs... Where Russian, Asian and Black gamblers play games of chance for high stakes..

The Body of two Russian Gangsters was put on Stretchers and strapped down..

"Rare something like this happens around here...In this part of the city.."said a Crime Scene Investigator.

"I know, Eddie Lee keeps it quiet around here..."said another.

"The first victim was shot at close range..in the back of the head...he never saw it coming.."said Dr. Hazel Baylor..

"Same for the second one...It could have been two shooters..." said Dr. Marcy Martin.

Lt. Tragg, just back from his two week stint on the Marine Boat...had Eddie Lee in handcuffs...

"For years, the cops have turned their head while you ran the protection rackets and the gambling in Chinatown and couldn't lay a finger on you...Welllll We got you now Eddie Lee.,.I'm putting an end to your criminal career." snarled Lt. Tragg.

"You are out of your mind Tragg....I'm not responsible for this...I've kept things quiet in this part of town for years....I had nothing to do with this you Moron..." screamed Eddie Lee.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?" snarled Lt. Trump, punching him in the stomach...

"You rotten son of a bitch, you're going to pay for that...I'm going to sue your ass...." snarled Eddie Lee trying to catch his breath...

"Tell it to your mouthpiece Gangster!"snarled Lt.Tragg...

as the police dragged Eddie Lee into jail...

That night, far away from this....

Olivia and I were at home...

"This was a nice night wasn't it?" said Olivia..

"It was beautiful and I'd like for it to get better.." I said..

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmm" I moaned as I kissed her..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" moaned Olivia..

We stood in the window and kissed...

We continued to kiss, She helped me undress.....

For the next NINE TO TEN HOURS....Beverly  and Nelson were in total bliss, their bed getting a nice workout!!!!

Finally resting peacefully, with Beverly ,sleeping like a baby on top of her husband....Both of them snoring loudly....

The Night roared on...

"Alexa ,I really want to thank you....I don't know anyone else who would 've come out with me after a night like tonight...You've got to be exhausted and we just met..." said Danny.

"I'm going with you to make sure you stay awake and don't get into an accident this time of night."said Alexa, smiling..

"You're the best Alexa." said Daniel, smiling.

Meanwhile at the Interrogation Room, known as the Fish Bowl.

A Furious Eddie Lee sat across from Lt. Tragg.

"You don't expect me to talk to you do you? I got nothing to say to you.." said Eddie Lee.

"You had these two guys killed...because they wouldn't pay you tribute......We know it..You know it!"snarled Lt. Tragg...

"Prove it!  Prove it!  You got nothin..." said a defiant Eddie Lee..

''Not another word Eddie. I got this."said Daniel.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? YOU'D BETTER BE AN ATTORNEY!" screamed a now irate Lt. Tragg.

Daniel passed Lt. Tragg his Bar Association card..

"I'm Daniel Bristol, Attorney at law... Eddie Lee's Attorney...." he said.

Lt. Tragg looked at Alexa....

"Don't I know you?  You're the little girl who helped Yvette and her team in the Holden Loudon case..

is Yvette involved in this?" he asked.

"No Yvette and her guys are not involved in this case at all...And I'm not a little girl...I'm Attorney Alexa Pratt."said Alexa...

"Welll Lah Dee DAH!   Oh so it's just you two huh?" said Lt. Tragg.

"CAN WE HAVE THE ROOM LIEUTENANT?" asked Daniel Bristol...now annoyed with his game playing.

"SURE!" snarled Lt. Tragg, who sauntered out of the room..

"Eddie you know not to say anything to anybody right? That means cops, detectives and especially not other inmates. Everybody in here is looking to make a deal." said Daniel Bristol.

"I wasn't born yesterday Danny Boy...I need you to do something for me..No disrespect, but this case may be a little over your head.. Get me Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West...I'll pay their fee...I'll pay you too, but you need Olivia and Beverly." said Eddie Lee.

Lt. Tragg was listening to the entire exchange.. He heard Eddie Lee instruct Danny Bristol to get the services of Olivia and Beverly...

"DAMN IT!!" he exclaimed..
