PRELUDE- CHESTNUT HILL, 11:32 pm. TWO WEEKS BEFORE-

A woman's scream was heard in the dark....!

A gunshot is faintly heard!!!

"Caucasian female, age 47, cause of death , one gunshot wound to the head.."said one CSI man.

"It went through and through...There is the shell casing on the street.."said another.

"Looks like a nine millimeter shell casing."said Dr. Hazel Baylor.

"Good call Dr. B."said another CSI man..."That's right." he added.

"My Husband is a cop don't forget..." said Hazel.

"Looks like death was instantaneous..."said Dr. Marcy Martin...

"Her drivers license in her purse says she's Jillian Dantly....Her work ID..says she worked at the Television Station, WZZT." said one of the detectives at the scene.

"I know this Broad...She was the uh sometimes Co-Host on HARD BOTTOM!" said Lt. Tragg.

"Yeah with B.L. Benz...You used to be on that show a lot Lieutenant!" said one of the detectives at the scene.

"Yeah....I made that show what it is today before he stopped having me on."said Lt. Tragg. "Anybody see or hear anything?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"We got two neighbors here...One heard a scream and a gunshot...and the other saw a man running from the scene."said the detectives...

"I was getting ready to turn in for the night..and around five minutes to midnight...I heard a woman's scream and then either a gunshot or somebody's car backfiring....but I didn't see anything." said Phyllis Reed.

"I think it was around midnight...I heard a woman scream...then I heard a gunshot....I looked out my window and I saw a white male...about 6 foot 2 running from the scene...I didn't see his face..."said neighbor, Matt Lucas.

"I'm going to have you two come down to headquarters with me and make a formal statement...Okay girls, we can release the body."said Lt. Tragg.

Both Hazel and Marcy, both doctors brisled at Lt. Tragg always reffering to them as "Girls"

"Alright guys..bag her and tag her." said Dr. Hazel Baylor.

"Let's get her out of here."said Marcy.

The Body of Jillian Roberts was placed in a white body bag, strapped to a gurney and rolled into a waiting ambulance...

Another Murder in the city.

THE NEXT MORNING-

Ms. Yvette sat in her conference room with her laptop...

''What are you doing Ms. Yvette?" asked Bee Bee.

"I'm looking up the new lawyer that is coming here today with Serendipity....He just started working with Deke...and Deke is loaning them both to us for awhile. We know him, Kevin Collins." said Yvette..

'' Yeah he worked a case with us about five years ago...before we came to this building. Deke now has five lawyers....Wow!" said Bee Bee.

"I told him he should hire an office manager and an investigator...He said he's looking now...I just wanted to see what ole Kevin has been up to since I last saw him..."said Yvette.

"This guy could give Chinese Bob a run for his money in our neighborhood." said Kahlil.

"Well I don't know about that."laufghed Virginia.

"I'll be the judge of that too!"laughed Ms. Jade , who had just entered the conference room.

"This is our new attorney, Kevin Collins..."said Deke.. "He comes to us from the law firm of Miles and Betsel....where he was a Senior Associate and before that from the U.S. Attorney's Office... Here's hoping he'll be a welcome addition to our team." said Deke..

"Hello Everyone."said Kevin Collins.

Hello...I'm Sonya Still" said Sonya..

"I'm Lester Sams..." said Lester.

"What's Up? I'm Keith Washington."

"It's nice meeting you all... I understand I'm supposed to report to the Bridge Building today." said Kevin.

"Yes...Our other Senior Associate is running a little late..Oh No, here she is...Serendipity...This is our new Senior Associate ....You'll be going with him to Yvette's office. This is Serendipity Harper..."said Deke.

"Hello...."said Serendipity..... ("Oh My God...He's cute!) she thought to herself.

"Hi Ms. Virginia...This is Kevin Collins, the new Attorney at my firm...He and I will be working with you guys this week."said Serendipity..

''Well we all make mistakes....It's good to have good friends who will forgive and help a person out..

Nice to make your acquaintence Ms. Virginia." said Kevin, smiling at her. He could see like every woman in this office that she was married.

He was glad his new partner, Serendipity wasn't married.

"WOW Yvette, you were what , A Senior Associate Attorney over in your old building....Supervising these five....Now you're Managing Partner and you kept the gang together huh?" said Kevin...

"Yes , they are all Senior Associate Attorneys now and have their own offices, even Jade."said Yvette.

"Talk about a come up....I love it!" he said, smiling.

The Chinese Takeout was on our conference room table...

""Come On, Dig in people and I'll tell you about our latest case." said Yvette.

"Great.....I'm famished...I love working lunches." he said and pulled a chair out for Serendipity.

"We've been here, two to three years...We like it here." I said.,

'What's not to like? This is a fabulous building..and it's away from Center City and Corporate pressure.

You all can relax down here while you work." said Kevin Collins.

"We like that about being down here....It's quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Center City..."said Bee Bee.

"You couldn't pay me to go back to the old building." said Sofia.

"Yeah we love it here." said Kahlil.

"How about you Jade?" asked Kevin...

"I've got a job...what's not to love?" said Jade, smiling.

"The verdict is unanimous...We love it here.!" said Virginia.

B.L. Benz... the host of the TV show and Podcast, "HARD BOTTOM" came to visit me. He is the Husband of one of my closest friends and my neighbor-

''First Degree Murder kind of trouble...He's a camera man at our station... His Name is George Barry.

who was murdered a few nights ago..." said B.L.

"Yes, I heard about that...I'm so sorry..."said Yvette.

"They were engaged to each other for two years, living together...and then she broke it off....and moved out....She moved in with a guy named Eric Tabor..

"I had him on my show last year....He sued a Motorcycle company for damages...and won a huge settlement... It was an Immediate Attraction between the two...She was six years older than him...but she fell head over heels in love with him and a month after his segment aired...She broke off her engagement to George, moved her things out a week later and moved in with Eric Tabor.

George wasn't happy about it...but I know he's no killer...The night she was murdered....They talked on the phone for about an hour....She drove to his house....I don't know what transpired there..but she drove back to her fiance's house and was shot to death...Shot in the head with a 9 milimeter...."said B.L.

"Has he been arrested?" asked Yvette...

"Lt. Tragg brought him in for questioning twice...."

"I went to the station and represented him twice and brought him home twice... Lt. Tragg made me show my Bar Association Card, proving I'm an Attorney and I suspect he still harbors some animosity toward him for marrying Karen....He wanted her real bad....and for not having him on my show anymore.. I know him...I know how he thinks... He's going to charge George with murder soon.... Yvette, he didn't do it...He doesn't even own a gun.." said B.L.

"You want me to rep him right?" said Ms. Yvette.

"Yes...I'm an Attorney, but I do Contract Litigation, Entertainment law...I'm not a trial attorney or even a Criminal Defense Attorney, but you and your four kids are...He needs the best." said B.L. "And don't worry, he can pay your fee."he added.

"That is always good to know.."said Yvette laughing..

"So what we are going to do is lawyer him up before he is eventually charged." said Kevin Collins.

"That's right....and with you and Serendipity here...We have extra help on his case if he is charged...And knowing Lt. Tragg like I do...If he has you in for questioning more than once...You're his number one suspect..." said Yvette.

Some Hours later , we met for dinner in our modern cafeteria.

"WOWWWW! THIS PLACE HAS A CAFETERIA THAT'S LIKE A FOUR STAR RESTAURANT...

REMINDS ME OF THE BUFFET IN THE HOTEL IN ATLANTIC CITY." said Kevin Collins..

"Come on, let me introduce you to some other friends of mine who work here. Jasmine, Dabnis, everybody....This is my new colleague , Attorney Kevin Collins....He started at Harper and Richards today and the two of us will be working with Ms. Yvette and her team for the next few weeks.. He comes from the U.S. Attorneys Office and the Private firm of Miles and Betsel.." said Serendipity..
