Straight Up Dead

 "Lot of fingerprints and DNA in this office Doc" said one of the many Crime Scene Investigators and Forensic Specialists within the suite..

One of our Attorneys, Phillip Rosen's dead body was discovered by one of the cleaning women around seven thirty this morning..Sitting at his desk, lifeless eyes staring straight ahead .....

"Body temperature shows he's been in here all night...He died about 9:00 pm last night...He's been dead over 12 hours.."said Dr. Hazel Baylor...The Deputy Coroner and Forensic Investigator...

Three glasses of water, ice completely melted sat on the desk...One glass had lipstick on it..the other two told a different story...

"Doc , we did a quick examination of these glasses.....The one with the lipstick is clean water...These other two glasses are loaded with arsenic...This guy was poisoned..." said one of the CSI guys..

We stood in the hallway watching the entire thing..

"The light was on when Gary and I left, around 7:00 pm...He was in there with a man...It was pretty loud in there...I don't know what was being discussed." said Yvette.

''Whatever it was...It was deadly.."I joked.

"That's not funny Keith.." said my new wife, Bee Bee, who smiled. and playfully punched my shoulder.

"Never a dull moment in this building lately.." said Sofia..

''They weren't kidding when they said this is a killer law firm.."laughed Kahlil..

Jade smiled......

Lt. Tragg was asking -

"Any of you guys see or hear anything?"  

"We left at 5:00 pm...His door was open and he was in there with his para-legal.." I said.

"Yeah, He was talking to Lisa...when we left.."said Bee Bee..

"We left at 5:00 pm also...and like Bee Bee said...The door was open..." said Sofia..

"Yeah he was here and alive when we left.."said Kahlil.

"I left around six o'clock..There was a man in there, but I don't know who...The door was closed."said Jade..

"Gary came to pick me up ,The light was on when Gary and I left, around 7:00 pm...He was in there with a man...I don't know who the man was...The door was closed. It was pretty loud in there...I don't know what was being discussed." said Yvette.

"But you left at 7:00 right? Anybody else leave with you?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"The Para-Legal, Lisa Bodice..." said Yvette..

"Where is she now?" asked Lt. Tragg..

"I couldn't tell you.." said Yvette..

"Can we remove the body?" asked Hazel..

"Yeah, move him out...Get that toxicology report and autopsy to me as soon as possible."said Lt. Tragg.

We watched as the body was being removed out of the office toward the elevators.

"I didn't expect to see this when I woke up this morning." said Sofia.

"Never a dull moment."said Kahlil..

''Wow, come on...Let's get to work.."said Yvette as we headed into the office..

"Yeah, let's get back to normal.."said Bee Bee..

"After this?" I said as we headed for our office.

II-

This was not meant to be a normal day...Before they could get the body into the hallway ,the elevator door opened and a familliar face was seen..

Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Dellums and a group of FBI Agents stopped them in their tracks..

"Hold it... I am AUSA Todd Dellums and I have a warrant for Phillip Rosen." he said.

"You're a little late pal...He's dead...Somebody offed him...So uh out of the way...When I get to the bottom of this, I'll let you know.."said Lt. Tragg..

"I'm afraid not....This is a federal investigation and that takes precedent over your investigation...Let me look at the body.."demanded Todd..

"The Hell you will hotshot...Out of my way..."said Lt. Tragg..

"What is your name sir?" asked Todd.

"Lt. Arthur Tragg, Homicide.."said an angry Lt. Tragg..

"And me with no popcorn." I said.

"I know right?" laughed Kahlil..

"You two are crazy.."laughed Jade..

Yvette smiled and shook her head...

"Vettie they don't pay me that much for this.."sighed Hazel..

As FBI agents rechecked the crime scene and took notes from her people....

Then Todd Dellums saw her at a distance...Bee Bee..

"Bee Bee? Is that you?" he said.

"Hello Todd!" said Bee Bee..

She had been engaged to marry him years before she and I met...They had broken up before Bee Bee entered law school ...He had married and divorced..He had tried again to woo Bee Bee after she had graduated from law school and passed the bar , but that had failed..

He knew she and I were dating...but now we were married....It was his first time seeing her since she got married.

''So it's true...What your cousin told me...You uh....You're married." he said.

''Yes and we've moved....We live in a nice three story house a few blocks from where our apartment complex is..."said Bee Bee, showing him her ring..

"Hmmmm, Nice..." he turned and looked at me..

"I suppose , Congratulations are in order..." he said to me..

"Thank you." I said..

He didn't have the greatest relationship with Sofia...but he turned to her...Took her hand into his and marveled at her..

''Well Spanish....I see you got hitched too..Did you move too?" he asked.

"I did get married...a few weeks before Bee and Keith and we too have moved into a  house.." said Sofia..

"What brings you here?" asked Kahlil..

"Two of your associate attorneys here were involved in a money laundering investigation we were running...It appears I'm too late for one of them.." he said.. "Excuse me guys...I have to make a call." he said.

He stepped aside and made a phone call...

We had no idea we would somehow be mixed up in all this..

Ms. Yvette had opened the mail and she smiled at us...

''Well Loves, you guys are going to be busy for awhile...I know that's what you want..You don't like lying around this office all day.. First up Mr. Jones."she said, smiling and looking at me..

"That would be me.." I said.

"Yes, that is you....

"Attorney Calvin Hunt request yours and Kahlil's services...." she said..

"You'll also be working with Nelson East...." she said.

"SWEEEET!!!!" said Kahlil....

We both liked working with Calvin Hunt and Nelson..

''And Little Mamasita.. Jessica Sanchez-Burrows

and her husband ,Chip..

Request your services....You'll be working with Josie.."said Yvette..

They had teamed up before..

Sofia smiled...She also knew that with Nelson and Josie involved in both cases ,they could walk right across the street and work in Olivia and Beverly's Duplex/Office.

Where they would enjoy meals and hanging out...It almost wasn't work..

"I didn't forget you Bee Bee... Your favorite attorneys asked for your services since they're going to be short Nelson and Josie.."said Ms. Yvette..

That meant Olivia, Beverly and Donnie Ray.

She loved working with them....And she looked forward to the fact that we all would be walking right across the street to work in their office...Cooked Breakfast....Lunch ordered out...and 

And Beverly's mom, Ms. Alfreda's baked goods, Doughnuts, pies, Cakes or what have you...It would be great...

And meanwhile in the hallway...

Lt. Tragg was on the phone with the Deputy Of Operations..

"Yes sir...It's a Homicide, looks like the guy was poisoned...WHAT? Yes...I met some fancy dan, says he's a Assistant Unites States Attorney or something or other...came up with a bunch of Federalis...Huh? What is that sir? I am to give Assistant United States Attorney Todd Dellums my full co-operation...Yes sir sirrrrrrrrrrrr!  No, I do not have an attitude..Ye sirrrrrrr sirrrrrrrr!" said Lt. Tragg.

Todd Dellums smirked..

Lt. Tragg was livid...

Hours Later, It was 4:30 pm...

We were all leaving for the day...

Kahlil had his arms around Sofia..

"I'm not staying late tonight...I don't want to be privy to nothing.."laughed Ms. Yvette..

"I know that's right."laughed Ms. Jade..

and finally Me and Bee Bee..

I had my arm around Bee Bee, squeezing her..

She didn't even look in Todd's direction...

He looked at her and us...His little victory over Lt. Tragg paled in comparison.

IV-

Tender was the night....

We were all snug and in our new homes..

Yvette and Gary were home...They had just had a delicious dinner and she had just taken a fantastic shower...They retreated to her third floor, Which She and Gary had redesigned into a rec room of sorts with a 70 inch Smart TV...Alex and speakers, His huge couch and their great view of the city...

Gary had fixed her that orange tea she liked..

She sipped it slowly and let the aroma drift up her nostrils...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu that smells sooo good...."said Yvette as she drank..

Gary was silent...He just smiled at her and took her into his arms..

He loved how soft her lips were and how they seemed to engulf his lips....

It wasn't long before he had his bathrobe off and her top off and her legs spread on that huge couch, while he entered her slowly and began to thrust mightily inside of her...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH VETTTIE...I DREAMED ABOUT THIS ALL DAYYYYYYY!" he moaned..

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm did you?" she asked.. Knowing he did..

EIGHT TO NINE HOURS of sweet slow sensuous lovemaking continued......The calm before the small storm that was headed our way...

Several police cars were parked outside..

"HANDCUFFS? Really?? You've made a big mistake..When I left..Mr. Rosen was alive...He fired me..I left with Yvette Jones...I mean Yvette Lockwood and her husband, He's an investigator at the D.A.'s office...They'll tell you...I didn't kill him.. I swear..." said Lisa Bodice..

"Tell it to the Judge lady....You're under arrest for murder one.."said Lt. Tragg..
