Out Of The Cold

 ONE WEEK LATER-

We were having breakfast in the Bridge Building with our friends...We still hadn't seen or heard from Bridget.

 

 "Still Nothing on Bridget yet Livy?" asked Yvette.

"No Nothing Yet...No sign of her or her car...and she doesn't answer her phone..  I've left several text messages.."said Olivia.

"I got it on good word that Lt. Tragg is turning the city upside down looking for her." said Keith Jones.

''And you know what that means...It means he won't find her."joked Bee Bee.

"Ha Ha...You've been hanging around me too long...I was going to say that."Joked Beverly.

''Where is Donnie Ray?" asked Sofia.

"He's out searching for leads... The Dead guy had a lot of connections to underworld figures and a lot of girlfriends too."said Nelson.

"Thus a lot of suspects." said Kahlil.

"Exactly...Other than Bridget."said Olivia.

"He's probably doing a better investigation than Lt. Tragg." said Jade./

"You couldn't do worse." said Beverly.

"HA!  I HEARD THAT!"laughed Virginia.

Her husband, Jetty laughed loudly at that remark.

"Her Stores are running business as usual...Kayla, Natalie, Brooke and I have been by there."said Jazzy.
 

"She's got a good staff...but how long can they run the business without Bridget?" asked Dabnis.

"I sure hope she's alright.."said Kayla.

"She's probably somewhere cooling out, drinking champaigne."said Ray in jest.

"That's not funny...I think whereever she is , she's scared to death." said Jessica.

Her husband Chip said the quiet part out loud.. "If she's still alive!" he said somberly.

"She's alive..Let's think positive." said Karen.

"Thank you Karen." said Olivia, hugging her old friend.

"Jazzy, Kayla, Brookie and I were at her shops earlier in the week."said Natalie.

"I was with them." said her husband, David.

"Her businesses are humming just like normal."said Brooke.

''Somebody there must know something."said Sean...

"Josie and Bresha were there talking to Bridget's Number two...I saw them."said Zoey.

"Surely she had some insight."said Lem.

"No, she was as in the dark as we were."said Josie.

"WOWWW!  I wanted to stop by there tonight after work." said Renee.

"I'll go with you...I need some night shirts.."said Beverly...

"I'm sure Nelson will be happy."laughed Tyrell.

"It's nice to have you here today babes."said Paris.

"It's nice to be here."said his wife, Josie.

"Yeah ,always a pleasure when the whole group comes down, but especially you."said Tony..

Alfreda was home, minding the store today...She was in the law library tidying up.

''So where is everybody today?" asked Rockland...

"They're at Penns Landing, the Bridge Building...You just missed them."said Alfreda as she tidied up.

"I didn't just miss them." said Rockland...smiling devilishly...

"You nasty horny dog!" laughed Alfreda....It had been awhile since Rockland had taken off from work early and paid her a visit..

It took Rockland just a few minutes...to slip her dress over her head.. and drop his trousers..

"Simmer Down!" said Alfreda as she went to the door.

It was Lt. Tragg!!

"I need to speak to Olivia!" he said.

"None of them are here."said Alfreda.

"Where are they?" he asked.

"I don't know."said Alfreda.

Lt. Tragg didn't believe her..

"I suppose none of you have heard from Bridget Jones either?" he asked.

"No we have not.."said Alfreda.

"Tell Olivia if I find out she's got Bridget hidden away some where I can bring her up on Obstruction of Justice charges and of Harboring a Fugitive..."said Lt. Tragg.

"I'll be sure to tell her that....Oh, you can tell her yourself...Here they come." said Alfreda.

"Lt. Tragg....I suppose you want an update on Bridget Jones eh?" said Olivia.

"We don't have one...We haven't seen her since before Christmas." said Beverly.

''We stopped by her house last week...No car and no sign of her."said Nelson.

"We went to her place of business...as I'm sure you have...And they didn't know anything."said Josie.

"That was last week...We aren't looking for her right now."said Bresha.

"Gee Liv, you've got em all like a bunch of trained seals.....Where is your husband, Donnie Ray?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"I don't know...You might try Josie's Bar..."said Olivia.

"Funny....I'd better not find out you're harboring her..."said Lt. Tragg.

"Oh we wouldn't do that...That would be against the law..."said Olivia.

Beverly, Nelson, Alfreda, Josie and Bresha all burst into loud laughter!

Lt. Tragg angrilly stomped his foot and walked back to his car.

II-

I spent the morning in Little Norway...

talking to Russian Underworld figures in the know who didn't mind talking to me about Tate Dennison.

He had laundered a lot of money for them into a lot of small businesses , the owners of who had been terrorized by a lot of these guys....

They said he dated a lot of women in the area too!  Married women too, which didn't make a lot of the husbands happy.

I interviewed a number of them and cleared them all.

I was also in Chinatown talking to Eddie Lee.

He controlled the Gambling in the Neighborhood and had his ear to the ground....He said that Tate Dennison also dated a lot of women in his area and was threatened by at least two men, who I couldn't locate...

He said he was having trouble laundering some serious cash for a local player named  Mikal Mogolovich, a really bad guy...A Russian who recently became a naturalized citizen.. This guy is alleged to be involved in Arms Trafficking, Money Laundering and even a killing or two.  lately, largely because the business Tate Dennison was trying to set up a huge Lingerie Company suddenly refused to play ball with him,leaving him in the cold and leaving this playa,Maglovich holding the bag... with a lot of money...a lot of money he couldn't spend...I'm betting this guy wasn't very happy.   He comes in here  on several occassions and gambles..Some nights he wins big....I'll give you a call the next time he is in here." said Eddie Lee.

I did do my due dilligence on this  Mikal Mogolovich, He indeed was  mixed up, allegedly in  Arms trafficking, racketeering, money laundering, and a few  contract murders … These are just a few of the criminal charges leveled against this guy...A Russian , who is a naturalized American citizen.  he has allegedly been accused of  scamming millions of dollars from investors of a Canadian company he oversaw. Now he was in Philadelphia and according to my contacts on the street, was seen in the company of Tate Dennison a lot in the month before Dennison's murder.

It was a good days work but still no information on Bridget or where she might be

TENDER IS THE NIGHT-

That night at our home..

I explained to Olivia, everything I had heard today during my travels. I was frustrated that I had no idea where Bridget was at the present moment.

"Well at least we know there are other suspects." I said,

"I don't believe Bridget should even be a suspect."said Olivia.

"Still, that purse that you gave her in the car with the dead man....There has got to be an explanation for that...and with a bra and panties and lipstick!" I whispered softly...

"Yes ,she'll have to have an explanation for that when we see her and we will." whispered Olivia as we stared in each others eyes...

"Great Pick Jessica."said Bresha.

"Yeah Jess, Great Pick!" said Tony.

"One of our clients told us about this place." said Jessica.

''So we aren't the only one with connected clients."laughed Alfreda.

"Most lawyers have at least one connected client."said Rockland.

"Yeah? Well I want the kind with Cruises and Great Restaurants." said Jazzy,laughing...
 

"Yeah right?"laughed Dabnis.

"This is a great place."said Kayla.

"I love it.." said Ray.

"I'm glad...My client really talked this place up." said Jessica.

"We helped him get his Green Card and then later on...His citizenship.."said Chip.

"Umm this food is delicious."said Karen.,.

"And these Beers are great too!" said B.L.

"Thanks again Jess...We definitely have to come back here."said Natalie.

"Oh For Sure." said David.

"I love this place."said Brooke.

"Yeah me too!" said Sean.

"So it's unanimous...This has to be one of our spots to revisit, especially this summer when it's warmer."said Zoey.

"They have a rooftop area where we can eat."said Lem.

''WOWWWW! Maybe we can call and reserve some space...It's a lot of us."said Renee.

"We got in tonight."laughed her husband, Tyrell.

"Yeah but in the summer. a lot more people are out."said Lee.

"Well Whatever, We gotta come back."said Matthew.

"I'm glad you all love our Latin flavor."said Nina, who had been here once.

"I certainly love it ." said Carlos.

Across from us, our favorite Judge, Kelly Anne Mercer and our not so favorite Detective, Her Boyfriend, Lt. Tragg were also dining tonight.

"Oh Look...It's Your favorite people." joked Kelly Anne.

Lt. Tragg saw all of us eating and drinking,laughing and talking...

"I swear...I can't get away from there...They are everywhere I go." he snarled.

"Oh stop it!  They're all very nice people..."said Kelly Anne, rubbing his arm and soothing him.

 

 "Look, isn't that Lt. Tragg and Kelly Anne over there?" asked Yvette.

"It is...I swear that woman has opened him up to a whole new world of dining."joked her husband, Gary.

''She's opened him up to a whole world period.. A date for him was Curleys Bar."said Keith Jones.

"I know."laughed his wife, Bee Bee.

"She's no Bar girl...She enjoys fine dining..."said Sofia.

"Yeah and she's making him a fan."laughed Kahlil.

"That's Lt. Tragg and Kelly Anne over there."said Jade.

"Yeah ,she's opening him up to a whole new world huh?" laughed Danny Ho.

"If he wants to keep opening her legs and getting into those panties...He'd better take her someplace other than Curleys.." said Virginia.

On Cue, Josie, Bresha, Bee Bee, Sofia,Jazzy, Kayla, Jessica, Renee and Lee all said

"THE POWER OF THE PANTAYS!"

Everybody laughed loudly...

"YALL ARE SO CRAZY!"laughed Yvette..

"They are!"laughed Olivia.

A Good time was had by all tonight in this trendy new restaurant.

IV-

Everybody boarded the buses which dropped us off at our homes...

"What a nice night...I am full....I'll sleep good tonight." said Beverly..

"Yeah, so will I." said Nelson.

Olivia was getting ready to put her key in the door when we heard a rustling of the leaves..

"You hear that?" she said.

''Somebody's behind those bushes." I said.

A dark figure emerged from behind the bushes.

IT WAS BRIDGET-

"Hello Olivia, Donnie Ray, Beverly, Nelson!" she said.  "I need your help!" she added.

She had come out of the cold.
