"Ummm Interesting." said Bruce Greene, reading her information.  "Thank you Ingrid." he said.

"I have better things to do than do expose's on people who work here... If you want to know about her..Why don't you ask her yourself?" said D.A. Investigator, Ingrid Stevenson.

"We have a date at Gazspachos Friday Night."said Bruce Greene, ignoring her question.

"You like her huh?  Gazspachos hmmmm...You picked a good place for a first date." she said.

"Yes I do like her and of course ,I only take my dates to the absolute best places....She's been out of the office,  the past two days...Working on some special project. I haven't talked to her." laughed Bruce Greene.

At the Bridge Building

Yvette and Gary were in her office kissing..

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Vettie Girl, I love you soooo much..." he said.

"I love you too!" said Yvette as they continued to kiss...

"It's so nice having you here today....You should let me go and head downstairs to your meeting." said Yvette.

"Yeah let me start on downstairs.."said Gary, trying to calm himself down...

Our Client was clean shaven and wearing a suit....He was almost unrecognizable.  What a difference a day makes.

"Good Morning...Thank you all for visiting me yesterday.  I never expected to be released the same day too! Thank you all." he said.

"You're welcome...This is my husband, Federal Public Defender, Sean Marks...He will be helping out on the case."said Brooke.

"Pleased to meet you." said Sean..

"Yes." he said. He was like a lot of men, a little disappointed that Brooke was married to a Black man.

He was disappointed period that she was married..   He had had a big crush on Brooke the day before.

"This is our supervisor, Ms. Karen Page, She and my husband are responsible for your freedom...They argued in Appellate Court yesterday." said Brooke.

"Pleased to meet you." said Karen...

"And you remember, Natalie, her husband, David, and Assistant District Attorney Natika Sommers

who came to visit you yesterday." said Brooke.

"Yes Hi Again."said Natalie.

"Nice to see you on the outside." I said.

"Yes...Nice to be on the outside after a year and a half." said Wallace Crockett.

"Good to see you again..."said Natika Sommers.

Gary Lockwood walked in...He was Yvette's husband...She thought he was very attractive,, His Green eyes got her very aroused, she thought as she watched him.

"Hello...I'm Gary Lockwood...I'm an Investigator for the D.A.'s Office. I've been looking into your case,today I'll give you my findings." said Gary.

"I've studied your case...The three people who left the bar with your wife, left her at the second bar she was at with a second man who has not been identified.. The Bartender who was on shift didn't know him and the bartender who was on shift remembers you showing up after they had left..and he said he told Lt. Tragg that...

The blood found in your garage was not human blood...It was determined to be deer blood.. You liked to hunt and had been hunting Vinison lately...It was mistakenly identified as your wife's blood...It was not...

The Boot....The Boot print that matched yours and that matched a pair of Sketchers like yours is arbitrary....It could have been anybody's...

Lastly...the bite marks.... Two of your ex girlfriends testified that you like to bite during sex...I took a nodel of your teeth...They are perfect, none missing, no fillings....Congratulations...They ARE NOT A MATCH FOR THE BITE MARKS on your wife's neck...This person had at least two missing teeth..

Lastly, The DNA from the saliva om your wife's bra and semen in her panties was inconclusive at the time of the trial...I got it retested at an independent DNA Lab and over at The FBI lab and again by our 

Medical Examiner's office and it is not yours." said Gary.

"Excellent work Gary." said Karen.

"If that hack detective ,Lt. Tragg had listened to me, If he had followed up on half of this stuff...I wouldn't have been convicted." said Wallace Crockett.

"Looks like it..maybe I should speak to him..."said Natika.

"Don't waste your time, he has tunnel vision....He sees straight ahead and believes what he believes...He never admits any wrong doing even when it's right in front of his face." said Natalie.

"Talking to him is a waste of time Natika." said Sean.

"But what we have got here is enough to have your case dropped completely or to go into court and win your exoneration outright if they want to push things..." said Brooke.

"I would hope they would drop this whole thing so I could get on with my life."said Wallace.

"That's what we hope too!" I said.

THURSDAY NIGHT, CURLEY'S BAR-COUPLES NIGHT-

"I am beginning to look forward to these nights... Two free drinks for two purchased drinks..youcan't beat that."said Jazzy.
 

"That's why this case is so popular on Thursday Nights...It's packed."said Dabnis.

"We are lucky we get here early enough to stake out our spot , so we can all sit together." said Kayla.

"Yeah, it's a lot of us."said her husband, Ray.

''So Karen,how is your case going?" asked Jessica,

"Yeah, how is it going?" asked Chip.

"Gary did an excellent investigation....We are hoping the D.A.'s Office tosses it out and we don't have to argue it again in court."said Karen.

"Aren't you guys part of the D.A.'s office?" asked B.L.

"We are but we are like the Step Children of the D.A.'s Office..You see they have us way down here at the Bridge Building in isolation, which we don't mind at all...In fact we love it.."said Natalie.

"They think we are in Siberia...They don't know we are down here with our friends and we love it."I said.

"Our best kept secret....Natalie,David and I asked to be sent down here to this division."said Brooke.

"I'm glad they're here...It means they are closer." said Sean.

"You mean she's closer."said Zoey,laughing and pointing to Brooke.

"I certainly like working down here in this area."said Lem.

"I do too! I love it...Being around all of yall."said Renee.

"Yup, so do I. And you love being close to me too, don't you doll?"said Tyrell.

"That goes without saying baby!" said Renee.

who gave Tyrell a wet sloppy kiss..

"It is nice working down the street from you all." said Lee.

"I wish I was down here." said Matthew.

Natika drank with us tonight... She enjoyed the company...The transportation and her comfortable quarters at Olivia and Beverly's house.

She called her mother and then left a text message with DDA Lester Burke.

The Drinks flowed...

"I  look forward to these nights... Two free drinks for two purchased drinks..you can't beat that."said Nina.

"Not to mention we can drink as much as we want and not have to worry about driving home impaired..

We get a bus ride to our door." said Carlos.

 

 "It wasn't always like this... I remember many a night leaving here and driving home a bit boozy."said Yvette.

"Or calling me to come get you and bring you back to your car the next day."laughed her husband, Gary.

"I remember us taking one car to get here at times."said Keith Jones.

"And us decided between the four of us, who was the least drunk and letting that person drive."laughed Bee Bee.

"Soooo glad we don't have to do that anymore." said Sofia..

"Don't I know it." said Kahlil.

"I never got that boozy in here..I was a new citizen, I had to be on my p's and q's."said Jade.

"That's why we used to come together."laughed her husband, Danny.

"I was pretty cool in here back in the day...Didn't usually stay that long." said Virginia.

"Me Neither."said Jetty as more drinks arrived.

 

"Nice night isn't it?" said Olivia, sitting in her husband's lap.

 

"It is." said Donnie Ray...

"I'm glad Natika came out with us tonight...This is probably the best time she's had in a long time." said Beverly...

"Yeah , she looks relaxed..."said Nelson.

"Her case went well...She may be leaving soon."said Josie.

"Yeah." said Paris.

"Well right now she is enjoying hanging with us." said Bresha.

"Everybody enjoys hanging with us...We're the hip clique to hang with...We do cool stuff." said Tony.

"Yeah we do." said Alfreda. Hanging around these younger people and her young husband, kept her young she felt.

Rockland smiled...

 

"Girls, I gotta problem. A Man problem"said Natika as they grabbed some cold brews...

"Ouuu sounds interesting. Dish Girl Dish!" said Beverly....

"Yes..what's up?" asked Kayla.

"Who is this man in your life?" said Jazzy..

"It's two men....One is Bruce Greene..He's been on my ass since I got there....Sending a bouquet of roses to my office everyday...My office looks like a flower shop, according to my assistant...He's taken me to lunch three times and tomorrow we have a date at Gazspachos....He's alright, but I'm really not feeling him...He talks about himself, his past cases, his aspirations constantly and never lets me get a word in and he acts like it's a foregone conclusion that he's going to be in my panties within a matter of days...and that's just not on my mind..."said Natika.

 

"That sounds like ole Bruce....Be glad he hasn't taken you anywhere where there was drinks with the meal...but I'll let you find out about that." said Natalie, laughing.

Brooke laughed....but didn't say anything.

"I, like you dated Bruce. I went out with him two or maybe three times and it was the same thing...

.He talks about himself, his past cases, his aspirations constantly and never lets me get a word in and he acts like it's a foregone conclusion that he was going to be in my panties within a matter of days..That turned me off...That and he made me pay the drink tab after all three of our meals.. I never went out with him again...By then I had met my future husband..." said Renee...

"You said it was two men...Who is the other man?" asked Natalie.

"He's kinda like my boss.....Deputy D.A. Lester Bruce... He is sooo sexy...He sent me a bouquet of roses once...but that was kind of like a welcome to the office type thing...I've thrown some hints at him that I'm interested...but I don't know if he's gotten the hint.. I even told him where I'm staying but so far nothing."said Natika.

"It's always the one you want that's hardest to get....that won't shoot his shot."said Beverly.

"And the one you don't want empties the clip."said Brooke..

Natika, Beverly, Kayla, Jazzy and Natalie exploded in laughter.....It felt good dishing and laughing with other women...

''Aint that the truth?"laughed Natika, hugging Brooke.

Everyone was safely in their homes after a night out at Curley's Bar...

Natika was in Olivia and Beverly's sub-basement apartment preparing to go to bed, when she heard a light tapping on the side door.

"Who could this be?" she asked herself.

She answered the door..

It was Lester Burke,  Her boss, The Deputy District Attorney....

"Hey Baby....I uh kind of got your hint..." he laughed..

"I'm so glad you did. I kept telling you I'd be alone, we'd have ultimate privacy...." she whispered...

He took her into his arms and kissed her...She was mildly surprised....
