Ice Breakers

At our office in the Bridge Building, Bee Bee and Sofia were busy doing research on our latest case...

Studying Predicates, Past cases that were simular and laws that could possibly pertain to this case...
 

"Sofia, doesn't this research remind you of school a little bit?"laughed Bee Bee.

"Sure does....High School, College and Law School...Seems like me and you were always studying together."laughed Sofia.

"That's what made us close...." said Bee Bee.

"Our success rate huh?  We always got the highest grades , throughout school."laughed Sofia.

Next door to them, Kahlil and I were busy looking at Jurors, their age, race, education, how they voted...their sex, sexual orientation...The works..

"This almost seems illegal.....doesn't it?" said Kahlil.

"I know...we get a heads up on potential jurors available in the jury pool... but it's all perfectly legal and the prosecution could do the same thing...I don't know why they aren't more thorough."I said.

"We've run up against a couple who are pretty thorough..."said Kahlil..

"Yeah but not as thorough as us." I laughed.

"That's true."laughed Kahlil..

''Alright everybody, take five...Lunch time!"said Ms. Virginia.

She put several boxes of Chinese Take out on the table ....

"Lunchtime!" she said...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuu it smells good." said Sofia.

"Mmmmmmmmmm and I'm hungry too!" said Bee Bee, sitting on my lap.

"Ummmmmm Chinese Bob had better watch out...This place you've been ordering from is going to give him a run for his money." I said.

"Yesssssss, what is the name of this place Ms. Virginia.?" asked Kahlil.

"The Hong Kong Palace...It's just a few blocks from here...All of our friends are eating in today...I saw them all there." said Ms. Virginia.

Seems like everybody has the same idea...Working Lunch, Chinese Style." said Virginia.

"You have the same idea huh Virginia?" said Jazzy.
 

"We are both having in house lunches today...Important cases coming up."said Dabnis.

"Same here...The kids are doing research on this case and Yvette and Jade are visiting our client at the Men's Correctional Center."said Virginia.

"Oh Wow!  I guess you guys really do need to have a working lunch.  We have some big cases coming up next week too."said Kayla.

"Yeah we do too in my office."said Ray.

"Same here..."said Jessica.

"They'll miss us today at lunch."said Chip.

"This food is just soooo good."said Karen.

"This place may give Chinese Bob a run for it's money."said Natalie.

"It's Open 24 hours..Maybe Friday Nights we can grab some food before we go drinking." said David Charles.

"That's a good idea..."said Brooke.

''Would they allow us to bring food into the No I.D. Bar?"asked Sean.

"One way to find out...Call and ask before Friday."said  Zoey.

"I'll call them tomorrow and ask."said Lem.

"It's so funny we all had the same idea and went to the same place."said Renee.

"Great Minds think alike." said her husband, Tyrell.

"Food smells so good."said Paris.

"It does." said Tony.

Lee was glad to be eating Asian food today...She smiled.

her Fiance, Matthew hugged her.

"Ummmmm it smells so good.I had no idea everybody had the same idea."said Nina.

"Great minds think alike." said her husband, Carlos.

Virginia smiled remembering the spirited conversation while standing in line at the restaurant.

II-

While the five of us were working dilligently on the case...  Ms. Yvette and Jade were at the Men's Prison, visiting our client...Mr. Cabbott.

Bull Bailey as usual leered at Yvette and Jade... He found them both very sexy and attractive...

''Where is the rest of the team today ladies?" he asked as they were searched...

"They're working on the case..."said Yvette.

Jade just smiled, but didn't say anything....

We figured food was good an icebreaker as anything.

We brought Chinese Take out from "The Hong Kong Palace"  just a few blocks from where we worked.

and a Thermos full of Hot Tea.

When Arthur Cabbot appeared he smiled for the first time...

He said-"Oh My God!!! How did you know?" he said.

"We do our research...We know you like Asian Food!" laughed Jade.

"And this special blend of Tea... Which is in the Thermos..."said Yvette.

"Oh My, this is certainly an improvement over the food in this horrid place..Thank you, Thank you...By the way, Where are your uh youngins?" asked Arthur Cabbot.

"Right now...They are working very hard on your case...doing the necessary research." said Yvette..

"I've done my research too!  I checked your Credit Card and Debit Card Records...On the night of the murders... You had Dinner at Gaspachos, leaving at 9:00am.....You bought Gas at 9:30....You stopped at a Bar at 9:45 and had drinks with friends...and then according to you, you went home.. The Murder occurred at around 7:45 pm.....This proves you were nowhere near the scene...."said Jade.

''We checked your bank account also...There are no huge withdrawals or transfers that would suggest you paid someone to do this either.." said Yvette.

"Myyy, you guys really know your stuff....I am both impressed and grateful for the food..."said Arthur Cabbot, gobbling up almost every morsel of food and guzzling down the hot tea...

"We got you a trial date next week...We don't know who the judge or prosecutor will be...but whoever it is..we'll be ready."said Yvette.

"Of that I have no doubt."said a surprisingly jovial Arthur Cabbott.

"Did you know that Curt Manson, your wife's lover was married?" asked Jade.

"No , really?" said Mr. Cabbott.

"Yes her name is Sharon Manson and they were seperated and estranged....Going through a nasty divorce....Also...She's ex- U.S. Army...She did a tour in Iraq....She got a Marksman medal...Just a little something extra."said Yvette.

"Well I'll be damned....You guys are really, really good...Oh My God!"said a now very happy Arthur Cabbot..

All and All..our visit was pleasent and nice... The food proved to be the ultimate Ice Breaker after all.

III-

That night we had dinner at Olivia and Beverly's house...

We sat in their kitchen, enjoying a great meal.. 

"You've got quite a case Vettie."said Olivia.

"It's quite a case Olivia, but I think we can win it...We won over our client today."laughed Yvette.

 

"Well that's good. You can at least back up his alibi...Jade is like me...She likes to give the jury at least a theory of who did it." said Donnie Ray.

"I have a theory of who could have done this..but not a shread of proof. Tomorrow I'm going to visit her lawyer."said Jade.

"You know her lawyer doesn't have to talk to you...and probably won't."said Beverly.

"You think maybe the lawyer will allow you guys a meeting with the wife?" asked Nelson.

"Probably not...but we have to try." said Yvette.

"Yeah, I suppose you have to."said Josie.

"You guys had Chinese Take out inside today like we all did."said Paris.

"Yeah I guess they missed us all at Lunch time."I said.

"Dinner too, considering we are all eating here."said Bee Bee. Again she was sitting on my lap with her warm ,soft body.

"I love your Cafeteria..."said Bresha.

"We love it too...but it's nice to have a working lunch, to eat in sometimes..."said Tony.

"I'll bet you would have never said that at any other time in your careers."laughed Alfreda..

"I wouldn't have been that enthusiastic at our old building...and I liked that building." said Sofia.

"Same here." laughed Kahlil.

"I hear you....I hate working lunches most of the time."laughed Rockland.

 

"Me too!"laughed Jetty. 

TENDER WAS THE NIGHT!

After we all got home from dinner with Olivia and Beverly that night..We were all settled down with our significant others.. What better way to spend a cold winter night than to be making love.?

Bee Bee was wearing another sheer see through Baby doll.....She had just taken a hot shower and walked into our bedroom..

My eyes popped out of my head..She had on a new bra and matching panties that I hadn't seen before.

The next EIGHT TO NINE HOURS, all we were thinking about was each other..

The same was next door at Kahlil and Sofia's house..

Kissing ,fondling and laughing..

Gary was glad to see Ms. Yvette...He always was after a long day.

"LAWD!!" he mumbled as they made sweet love..for the next EIGHT TO NINE HOURS. He was deeply in love in a way he had never been before...Virginia loved that a man loved her this much....

THE OFFICE OF MIRANDA JACKSON-ATTORNEY AT LAW-

"Well Hello Yvette...We finally meet...We have a friend and colleague in common." said the Attorney

Miranda Jackson.

"We do?" asked Yvette...

"Yes ,Olivia Bennett-Alexander. We both lectured at Middleton School of Law at the same time 

and we

both took part in a seminar some months later...We got quite chummy." said Miranda Jackson.

"Olivia and I were room-mates all through law school and we live across the street from each other..

She's my best friend." said Yvette.

"Oh How nice." said Miranda...She went in her refrigerator, pulled out two glasses and poured two Martinis..

One Citris and one Mango...

"Take your pick." she said, smiling..

"Thank you!" said Yvette....who now felt very comfortable around Miranda...She liked her...These drinks were appropriate ice breakers....

"Now..."said Miranda as the two women sipped their drinks and got comfortable.. You want to inquire about my client, Sharon Manson..." 

"As you know, I'm representing...Arthur Cabbot.accused of murdering his estranged wife, Rose Norwood Cabbot and your client's estranged husband, Curt Manson....I know you were representing her in her divorce...I thought you could set up a meeting between us..."said Yvette.

"You want to drop a subpoena on her don't you?   Use her as a defense witness in your case....Ha Ha..

All fine and good, but you do know I don't have to co-operate with you don't you?  She's still my client, even though...She owes me money...My legal fees and she hasn't been seen or heard from in about a month and hasn't returned my phone calls...  The truth is..I couldn't help you even if I wanted to...I don't know where she is.."said Miranda.

Not the conversation Ms. Yvette wanted....but she enjoyed drinking these Martinis in the middle of the afternoon.
