The OFFICE OF APPELLATE COURT JUDGE, TELMA BAILEY.

Judge Telma Bailey was looking at the dossiers of all of the Attorneys who'd be presenting oral arguments in her courtroom tomorrow.  She had followed Olivia Bennett-Alexander and her team for years...She admired their work..She was pleased to see that Olivia's niece,

 Beverly was a soror of Delta Sigma Theta like she was.

She liked the attorneys of the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit also...She knew that both Olivia and her team and Karen Page and her team had beaten Bruce Greene in court time after time and she loved them even more for that...

She had heard Bruce Greene on the Television talking about getting rid of the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity unit once he was elected and she thought that was an outrage... This group made sure that prosecutions were honest and for the mistakes made, they righted those wrongs..

Bruce was out of his mind....

They wouldn't have to worry...Bruce wasn't going to be District Attorney....Not if she had anything to do with it.

There was a knock on the door....Assistant U.S. Attorney Willie Gleaton walked in...

HE grabbed Telma from her seat and took her into his arms and kissed her..

"BABYYYYYYYYYY!" he moaned.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMM DARLING!" she cooed.....as their kissing got hotter and more passionate.

"Everything went just as you planned.... Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Dellums took the bait...and he and FBI agents are questioning Bruce Greene as we speak and looking very closely into the events surrounding your sisters death." said Willie Gleaton...

"This probe will be the nail in his coffin...He'll most certainly lose the election, possibly his job , disbarment and imprisonment..." said Telma Bailey...

"MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, now enough about him....."moaned Willie..

"This is about me and you and separating you from your panties..."he said as they continued to kiss.

and he reached up under her skirt

and attempted to slip her panties down......

"Uh Uh...We can't do that today and you know how I feel about doing it in here.....I've got a hearing to prepare for this afternoon and one  tomorrow..... Tomorrow night....We'll have dinner and then you can take my panties off,okay?" she said with a devilish grin on her face....

''Alright...but don't make me wait too much longer...I can't take it." he said.

"You'll be just fine..." she laughed..."You are sooo horny..." she said with a smile.

She took a disinfectant wipe and wiped her lipstick smudge off of the side of his face and his lapel...

II-

At Olivia and Beverly's Office Duplex-

Beverly, Josie and Bresha were doing last minute research on our upcoming hearing..

"This case was handled so slap dash it makes me wonder..."said Beverly peering through original witness statements and court records..

"Both Detectives are now deceased..One was dismissed from the force for alcoholism and the other retired and died of cancer shortly there after.."said Josie, who was looking at the dental reports and DNA evidence ,or lack of it..  

"This guy who testified as a dental expert wasn't even a licensed dentist... He dropped out of dental school and was the nephew of the girlfriend of one of the detectives...The one that got fired for drinking...bet they had a whole lot of flawed investigations." said Bresha.

While in our conference room....Olivia and Nelson were tamping down last minute strategies for our oral arguments tomorrow.

"I'm going to take all of the state's arguments apart like a surgeon Nelson....This is incredible the way they have railroaded some people into prison sentences..."said Olivia.

"It's scary.....Even the Public Defender saw this...but she didn't have the resources or time to handle it...Glad she had the foresight to call the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit and they in turn called us." said Nelson.

"He had an over worked Public Defender during his first trial...Now he has ten attorneys and an investigator....Shame every defendant can't get legal representation like this."said Olivia.

"I know right?" said Nelson.

While Donnie Ray was out collecting sworn and signed affadavits from the witnesses and getting DNA evidence from The FBI, Our Medical Examiners Office and Goggins Independent Labs, all that absolved our client, along with a real Dentist who specialized in Bite Marks , who concluded through studying Mr. Johnson's teeth, that the bite marks were not his....Just as he stated.

And At the Men's Correctional Center-

Natalie, Brooke,Myself and Sean were visiting with our Client, Calvin Johnson, who had been transferred here the night before.. We brought him Fresh Coffee and some Bagels and Cream Cheese from Cakeman Raven's Bakery....He was very appreciative.

"I know these cells here don't match what you had at Stanga....but you'll feel much better when we get you out of here period." said Natalie.

"Don't I know it....Thanks for the Coffee and the Bagels."said Calvin.

"You're welcome...We got a real good Judge....We are lucky to be making our oral arguments here and not upstate where they tend to be a lot more conservative."said Brooke.

"Oh I know....The Public Defender I had took my case before two Appellate Courts and lost and a third one that wouldn't even hear my case before she called Philadelphia, where I was originally convicted and spoke to the Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit of which you all are apart. She worked hard, but she had six other cases...."said Calvin.

"Believe it or not...We were all Public Defenders once...We know how it can be...Then we left and became Assistant District Attorneys....And now we are this....back to defending people."said Natalie.

"I'm a Federal Public Defender." said Sean.

"That's right..We all know the deal...and we hooked up with some brilliant defense attorneys, Olivia and Beverly and their team who specialize in murder cases like yours." said Brooke.

"Oh Wow!" said Calvin as he put jelly on his bagel and munched on it.

"Somebody anonymously put a bee in our ear and told us to try this Judge, Telma Bailey...We hope it works out for you."I said.

"I looked into her...She's no nonsense..Knows the law, but is pretty progressive otherwise..."said Sean.

"I hope you guys are right." said Calvin Johnson...

He drank up his coffee...

and devoured the still warm, right out of the oven,Bagels , Cream Cheese and Jelly.

And Meanwhile in the OFFICE OF TELMA BAILEY, PENNSYLVANIA APPELLATE COURT JUDGE...

She was looking up some other Attorneys she was going to hear this afternoon..

"Everytime you go Ouuu Ouuu oop, that gets me horny!" said Attorney William Gleaton.

"My Breathing gets you horny....Calm down...I've got to go to court...."said Judge Telma Bailey...who giggled....William Gleaton had liked her and been after her to marry him for about a year now...One day she might, she thought to herself and smiled.

She headed off to court.

III-

The Federal Interrogation Room was much different than the "Fishbowl"..The Interrogation Room used by Philadelphia detectives... The Federal Interrogation Room was clean, spotless...Drab, but clean..Carpeted Floors, Cushioned Chairs and a drab Black table..

Bruce Greene had been in the "Fishbowl" with Lt. Tragg and others interrogating a suspect...He never expected to be a suspect himself...

Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Dellums was a bit younger than him...Both he and Dellums were Harvard men...He had nothing against him...He had followed his career in the media...He was certain Todd Dellums had followed his career.

"Mister Greene, your wife was having a six month long affair with a Bailiff /Law Student named Tyrell

Jones.. We know that you knew about this....We know you hired a P.I. Bert Vandenberg who informed you and presented you with photos of your wife and Mr. Jones, who was just weeks from graduating from law school...

Your wife was shot to death right outside his apartment complex and the murder weapon, wiped clean of all prints was neatly deposited in a trash can right outside his apartment...Not something a murderer would do...

Mr. Jones was arrested at your urging and charged with your wife's murder....He was acquitted of all charges, went on to graduate from law school and pass the bar and shortly thereafter , met and got involved with and married another attorney, Renee Cantrell, who I understand you also dated...

Your wife may have stepped out on you....but you steeped out on her several times with not just Renee, but Attorney Jasmine Jenkins, Kayla Bennett and even Yvette Jones...who all disassociated themselves with you after they discovered you were married...."said Todd Dellums..

"Bravo! You know my recent sexual history....Why am I here?" asked Bruce Greene defiantly...

"You're here because one week before your wife's death, you took out $1500.00 from your bank account.."said Todd Dellums..

"Yes, so what?  It was my money..I went to Atlantic City....I like to gamble...."said Bruce.

"Yes we know...We even know where you stayed...The Tropicanna.....We also know an ex-con...a man you sent away for three years, C.W. Mapp also stayed there...."said Todd.

"Really?  I never saw him..."said Bruce.

"A week later, you withdrew another $1500.00.. And I know, you went gambling in Chinatown at Eddie Lee's joint...So Did C.W. Mapp... No one we interviewed saw the two of you together, although you were there at the same time, same night....but funny thing...$3000.00 dollars turned up in his bank account...Now he was unemployed...Had no visible means of support and yet he had a cheap apartment and all of this money and we don't know how he got it or who paid for his apartment... Next thing you know....He turns up dead!!...Shot to death!!! and the gun has no prints...not even his and there are no powder burns on his hands...Funny and a hastily typed suicide note and a photo of your wife, Thelma Bailey- Greene in her panties and bra....by his side...Nice and neat, Too Neat.."said Todd Dellums..

"I had nothing to do with any of this..."said Bruce Greene.

"Lucky for you...We can't prove you did....You're a brilliant attorney Bruce....I've followed your career..You know about evidence and trails...You left none....but C.W. Mapp didn't know your wife...Had no reason to kill her... I think you paid him to kill your wife and then he probably blackmailed you or tried to shake you down or just wouldn't go away and you killed him.!!!He did originally go to jail for Extortion..He was a known Shakedown artist...It wouldn't be surprising....That's what I think....but as of now, We can't prove it...If he had a safe deposit box, damn if we could find it."said Todd Dellums.

"Can I Go?" asked Bruce Greene.

"Yeah you can go!.....Good Luck in your campaign."said Todd Dellums...

Bruce got up and walked out of the room briskly.

THAT NIGHT AT CURLEY'S-

 

 "Liv She is Wonderful..Judge Telma Bailey. We had a case we had to present to her of a woman we believed was wrongly convicted... Of course we had our ducks in a row...She tossed out the conviction and ordered our client released without a new trial, just like that...and afterwords we had a long conversation about you and me, our friendship ,our like cases and what not...I love her."said Yvette.

"Well That sure is Good News...We see her tomorrow morning."said Olivia.

"That is good news."said Karen..

"And you guys won't believe this...She's Bruce Greene's ex-sister in law....Her late sister was married to him.." said Gary..

"Wowwwww, small world.. Hopefully she's not like him."said Keith Jones.

"You saw today that she's not...and she's our soror..."said Bee Bee.

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUU OUUUUU OOOOOOOOOP!"said Sofia.

"OUUUUUUUUU OUUUUUUU OOOOP!" chimed in Beverly, also a Delta.

''Well we won't hold that against her...She's still lovely..."said Yvette.

''We are all Divine Nine Sisters." said Olivia, smiling.

"Yeah, I feel like I'm apart of something as much as I helped Sofia and Bee Bee out when they were pledging...Getting them food, Washing their clothes and what not."said Kahlil.

"There is a big reward for you one day Kahlil."laughed Jade.

"He got his reward....Sofia married him didn't she?" laughed Danny Ho...

"That's right papi....I did." said Sofia.

''Yes you did sweetie." said Kahlil.

"That's right."laughed Virginia...He gets his reward every night."said Virginia.

"Yes Lawd and so do I."laughed Jetty, just salivating over Virginia....

"Oh hush up freshie!"laughed Virginia....

"I heard the Feds dropped their investigation of Bruce Greene this afternoon...They couldn't find anything."said Jazzy.
 

"He's a smart man, he knew how to cover his tracks...I still think he's as guilty as sin."said Dabnis.

"But it's not what you know...It's what you can prove."said Kayla.

"Spoken like a true attorney."said Ray...

"You think now that he's been cleared by the Feds ,he'll get an uptick in the polling?" asked Jessica.

"Maybe, but not much....Gil Garcetti is leading by a large margin last I checked..."said Chip.

"Good!  I can't imagine life under Bruce Greene."said Karen...

"I couldn't either...It would mean major changes for you guys." said B.L.

"I'm telling you...I'd resign immediately." said Natalie.

"I would too...and from what I hear practically all of the ADA's presently in the D.A.'s Office said they'd resign if he wins the election."I said.

"That can't feel good to anybody."said Brooke.

"No it can't.."said Sean.

"I wouldn't worry about it....I can't see him winning..."said Zoey...

"Well We'll find out Tuesday..."said Lem.

"Yes....Glad his election won't effect us either way."said Renee.

"But you know how he's bragged for the past two years about his ambitions....A win for him would make his head bigger than it is already...He'd be impossible." said Tyrell..

"Ohhh he would....I left the D.A.'s Office just as he was starting out...I am sooo glad."said Nina.

"I'm glad too...We would've never met if you hadn't.."said Carlos..

She gave him a sweet kiss.

"AWWWWWWWWWWWW, that's right husband."said Nina.

"Awwww they are sooooo cute!"said Lee

Her boyfriend, Matthew just smiled. 

''Well Husband, we are ready for the hearing tomorrow."said a Happy Olivia.

 

"Yup and after hearing Yvette's glowing reveiw...We should be able to release that young man from custody after all of these years."I said.

"This has been a great day..." said Beverly...

"I'll say..."said Nelson...

"We are on the eve of another victory."said Josie.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, look who just walked in...Bruce Greene and he's happy because the Feds didn't find enough to indict him."said her husband, Paris.

"Oh My God...I know his head is big tonight."said Bresha.

"Look at the smirk on his face..." laughed Tony...

''See if he's smirking after Tuesday."laughed Alfreda.

"We may yet get the last laugh.."said Rockland. 

Bruce Greene walked in...For the first time in weeks he looked happy....The Feds had failed to find any wrongdoing on his part and maybe this talk about him having his wife killed would go away for good..

He looked around the bar....When he won , he thought....It would impact a lot of the attorneys in here in one way or another he mused.

He saw Natika Sommers sitting by herself and he invited himself to her table..He ordered

Two Martinis..He paid the waitress for them both with cash.

"WHATTTTTTTTTTTT? YOU PAYIN FOR DRINKS TONIGHT?" laughed Natika.

"I'm in a good mood, so I'm going to ignore that remark... I've been cleared of any wrongdoing in my late wife's death and so maybe we can talk about real issues now and forgo the nonsense." he said.

He was quiet for a moment as they sipped their drinks..

"So How is life in the Public Defender's Office?" he asked.

She couldn't believe he was actually asking her a question about her life, her new job...and not going on and on about himself, his ambitions and what not.

"It's great...I've hired about 19 new Attorneys to help even up the work load and created teams to take on some of the more complex cases...Our acquittal rate is up.  I'm enjoying being a boss." said Natika.

"That's great...I'm really happy for you." said Bruce...

His supervisor, Lester Burke, who he planned to fire Tuesday after he won the election walked up and sat down next to Natika.

"Hello Bruce...I heard the Feds cleared you today....I'm happy for you..." he said.

Bruce finished his drink...
