A Few Days Later in our conference room, a tearful Elaine Crawley Wade made a tearful plea.

"Yvette, I never thought I'd be coming to you for help...but you're the only ones who can help me now... My fiance...Your former client, who you represented sooo well, Blake Wade has been arrested and charged with first degree murder by that jackass Lt. Tragg. I desperately need your help." said Elaine.

Yvette pulled out a napkin and wiped her tears...Ericka had been crying for hours , she could tell...

"Now...Now don't cry...Don't cry....Get yourself together and tell me everything..Murdered who?" she asked.

"You might not remember....but back when you guys defended Olivia and Beverly against my sister...unknown to you...She had huge million dollar bets down against the outcomes of her trials..I can't tell you how many times..Blake and I told her this was crazy, if not unethical.." said Elaine.

"Not to mention she could have been disbarred if caught." I said.

"That's right...but down in Atlanta she was very successful ,winning trial after trial and doubling, sometimes tripling her winnings...but like all gamblers..she hit a wall...She lost a big case and was into this gambler and underworld figure named Tony Salermo for a bundle...She came up here to Philly and sued Olivia Bennett-Alexander's law firm for perceived crimes against my daddy and sued Beverly West, who we found out he raped and Josie Boyd, who he attempted to rape...Neither my sister of I knew these allegations were true or about the other women who he paid and had sign NDA agreements.

It all came out in the trials and She Lost all three trials as you well know..She lost and was into this guy for millions...He found her and put two bullets in her head. They charged her boyfriend, Greg Garland with the murder, but I knew he was innocent...He adored my sister.. You successfuly defended him and do you know what happened next?" asked Elaine.

"Yes, that gangster, Tony Salermo confessed to killing your sister and in addition turned in states evidence in over 100 cases ,helping the feds put away a number of very bad people and was given 15 years in Federal Prison and a spot in Witness Protection after he served his 15 years.."said Bee Bee.

''Wait a minute Is that who Blake is accused of killing, Tony Salermo? What is he doing out of jail and here in Philly?" asked Sofia.

"Yeah...Didn't he have 10 more years to serve?" asked Kahlil.

"My former law partner, H.Stanley Stanlison represented Tony Salermo, got him a sweetheart deal. Got him to testify in a few more cases and got 10 years cut off of his original sentence. He was released from prison last year and put in Witness Protection. He was out in Butte, Montana...He slipped away from there and wound up here..Apparently a big city was more to his liking...He figured nobody knew him here."said Elaine.

"Somebody knew he was here..Obviously." I said.

"I knew he was here...I saw him in the market, a few weeks ago and he saw me...He jumped like he was seeing a ghost...but I knew that was him the man who killed my sister."said Elaine.

"What did you do?" asked Jade. "Did you say anything to him?" she asked.

"Nooooooooo, but I think I spooked him...He ran away and I didn't see him again."said Elaine.

"You and Blake weren't back together yet....What would he have to do with this?"asked Yvette.

"I don't know...unless Blake ran into him too and recognized him...His body was found in the walkspace right next to Blake's house...Apparently , he was coming to see Blake, but Blake wasn't there...I know this because he was with me..."said Elaine.

"This was in the days after the case was closed..."said Virginia.

Blake and I met that night after the litigation was settled , we went to a trendy bar in town for drinks...and afterward..We took an UBER to Cherry Hill to a Holiday Inn."said Elaine.

"You guys wanted no chance of running into somebody you know."said Sofia.

Yvette smiled a little bit.

"Yes, we had a wonderful night together...We made love well into the morning hours....We were late for check out....We talked about all the things in our marriage that went wrong and how we should work to improve our relationship and he offered me a job with him, offering to pay me more...It was amazing...

I was subletting my friend's apartment while she is out of town...just a few blocks from where you guys live, so we went to breakfast...Not at Sam Mothers, but at a diner near you..

Over by that club, Stoleys...

''They have good food there....It's great to go to after a night of drinking and partying."said Kahlil.

Yvette smiled again...

"Yes..we both were famished...After we ate..We went back to the place I was staying at..

It's a relatively new apartment complex with a great Steak and Hoagie Shop on the ground floor."said Elaine.

"Oh that's where Natika lives....A friend of ours... She lives on the fourth floor."said Bee Bee.

"Blake was there with me ,in bed the rest of the day...He was exhausted..."said Elaine.

"I'll bet he was." I said... I didn't mean for that to slip out.....

This brought the entire room to loud raucous laughter....

"I'm sorry!"laughed Yvette,playfully slapping me on the shoulder... "Of course we'll represent Blake, we'll work on getting him arraigned."said Yvette, still laughing a bit.

"Can you give us a list of charactor witnesses...People who can attest to his good charactor and good standing in the community." I asked.

"She's a lawyer like us...She knows what that is." said Bee Bee, smiling.

Elaine smiled... "They're so cute...Yes I can get you all of that....Within the next few hours, Telephone numbers, email addresses,home addresses, the works." she said.

"Bee and I will see if it's not too late to get a Tuesday Night Court date."said Sofia..

"And I'll call our friend, the Bail Bondsman just in case." said Kahlil...

"The way it looks, you're his alibi...but I'm going to look deeper into this, his phone calls, his business meetings, the works..We don't want to be surprised by anything."said Jade.

"Do you know who the ADA is on this case?" asked Virginia.

"Yes....Bruce Greene...I was in the office next door to his, the entire time I was working on the litigation...I went out with him a couple of times...He's uh kinda smitten with me...And he's angry that I'm leaving, even angrier that he's found out I'm engaged...

Beatrice and Sofia both said in unison- "TYPICAL BRUCE"

"You've dated him?" asked Elaine.

"They haven't..but he tried to date me and some friends of ours...While he was married.."said Yvette.

"He's married?" asked Elaine.

"No he's a widower....It's a long story."said Yvette. "What we have to do right now is work on getting your fiancé out of jail." said Yvette.

Soon After Elaine left our office, we got a visit from two unlikely persons.

"Vettie, guys we have two visitors.."said Virginia.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Dellums looked around-

"Nice Digs you have here Yvette." he said.

Federal Public defender , Sean Marks was also in tow..

"Hi Yvette." he said.

"Well, I didn't expect to see you two together.."said Yvette, smiling.

"To what do we owe this visit?" I asked.

"I need a favor..From you guys....A Man I've held in high esteem for a couple of years, Blake Wade has been arrested and accused of First Degree Murder by that jack ass ,Lt. Tragg...I don't believe...In fact, I KNOW he is an innocent man...but naturally, I can't intervene on his behalf. He's accused of killing a

person who was in our Federal Witness Protection program, who had slipped out of our radar...I know he didn't do it...I want you to defend him...I understand he was your client just a few weeks ago in an unrelated matter."said Todd.

Bee Bee smiled.. She knew all to well what a proud man Todd Dellums was and how it must be serious ,if he was here with hat in hand , asking us for a favor.

Sofia stood stoically, saying nothing.

"You're the second person today to ask us to defend Blake Wade."said Kahlil.

"Really?" said Todd.

"Yes, his fiance, Elaine Crawley Wade already asked us and we have agreed to take on the case."said Yvette.

"Wow! After you trashed her late sister in court a few years ago and just finished a contentious litigation against her recently....She's the last person I'd expect to come to you for help."said Todd.

"It's a new day...That's all water under the bridge..."said Yvette.

"Unlike Todd...As a Federal Public Defender, I can intervene...That is if you don't mind my help."said Sean humbly...

"We welcome your help Sean...Thank you."said Yvette.

"The More the Merrier." said Jade.

Virginia put glasses and a pitcher of water on the table.

"Thank you all....I won't forget this." said Todd Dellums.

At that moment at the Men's Correctional Facility..

Elaine Crawley-Wade was there...

After being frisked by Bull Bailey ,she was allowed to see her fiance..

Blake appeared... He was so happy to see Elaine..

"Baby, I'm so glad to see you." he said.

"I'm glad to see you too!" she said.

They kissed.....

it had been three days since they'd seen each other...

"I went to see Yvette and her team....They have agreed to represent you on these charges..."said Elaine.

"Ohhhh thank God! Thank you! I'm innocent, I didn't kill anybody." said Blake.

"I know you didn't....I know you couldn't kill anybody..."said Elaine...

As they continued to kiss..

"Ohhhhhh I want to be with you so bad." he said.

COURTROOM B-

NIGHT COURT-

In Philadelphia, Night Court only operates two nights a week....Tuesday and Thursday, Tonight was Tuesday...and fortunately...We got an arraignment date of 9:00 pm.

The Judge in this case would not be the Judge in the actual case....

Lt. Tragg was not there... Night court was too low profile for him...No witnesses...No media..and a bunch of Judges and ADA's who were mostly older Judges and ADA's about to retire...It was lightweight. It was in session from 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays...We were quite fortunate to get a date.

This was due to the efficiency of Bee Bee and Sofia.

The ADA that did show up was not going to be the ADA that tried the case...He had only the basic out line of the case at hand... He basically wanted to go home...So as usual we didn't expect him to really put up much of a fight, though he surprised us sometimes...

Blake Wade was surprised to be being arraigned and in Night Court, which he didn't know existed..

Yvette argued passionately that a lot ,practically all of the evidence compiled against Blake Wade was purely circumstantial and that he desperately wanted his day in court to fight these "egregious and ridiculous" charges...

Kahlil, Sean Marks and I presented 25 character witnesses to vouch for our client's good charactor.

Our Bail Bondsmen smiled...He knew that his services would once again, not be needed tonight. He knew that with us, Just like with Olivia and Beverly, our clients didn't even get bail, they got released.

The Judge was impressed with our presentation and convinced...Blake Wade was released on his own recognizance...

"Hi Baby!" said Elaine...

"Baby!" said Blake..

As they embraced...

and kissed passionately...

''Welllll, a happy ending for now! Thank you Sean for your additional assistance." said Yvette.

"I was only too glad to help." said Sean.

''Some Bedsprings are going to be squeaking tonight."I said and laughed.

My prediction was 100 percent correct...We all went home after Night Court..

Our "guests" from down the street concurred.

"Olivia and Beverly and their team are the only differences, otherwise, it's always like this." laughed Nina.

Carlos was busy eating his pancakes....He was not involved in the conversation...

"Vettie and her guys had quite a night last night...A Night Court appearence..."said Jazzy.

"He and Erika sure got cozy ever since that litigation ended."mused Kayla.

"They are engaged and she'll be working at his firm as a Senior Associate next month." said Ray.

"That's a nice bump up."said Jazzy.

Both women cracked up laughing.

"Here Here..."said Karen, who had used Olivia's team and our team many times....

"We are fortunate to have an investigator like Gary helping us on this case."said Natalie.

''An Investigator is an Attorney's best friend." said her husband, David.

"Oh for sure..... You had a successful night last night hon."said Brooke.

"Yeah we got him out without having to pay any bail and with no electronic monitoring system." said Sean.

"That was great....I'm glad to see Elaine and Blake back together. As much as I work divorce cases...I hate Divorce."said Zoey...

"You'd never know."joked her husband Lem...

"I do." laughed Zoey.

"Uh Oh....Look who is in here...Bruce Greene."said Renee.

"Damn, is he going to make it a habit, coming down here?" asked her husband, Tyrell..

Bruce Greene sat at a table across the room from all of us, Sipping his coffee, but eyeing all of us.

"Olivia, so nice to have you with us."said Yvette.

"We are working on an Innocence Project case with Jessica and Chip."said Olivia.

"We've been working remotely with them for about a week..We decided to make an in person visit today."said Donnie Ray.

"We are going to be here tomorrow too!" said Beverly.

"They have a nice room in their suite where we can hook up our laptops and devices and kick back."said Nelson.

Josie and Bresha were happy just being able to be in the same space with their husbands and were sitting on their laps.

Alfreda had come along too! She was Happy to be a part of the group.

Bruce Greene was livid that Blake Wade was out of jail on his own recognizance, Livid that we were defending him and even more livid that he and Elaine were engaged. He sat there for as long as he could and then he got up and approached our table.

"SOOOOOOOOOO YOU'RE OUT OF JAIL HUH? WELL ENJOY IT! IT WON'T BE LONG... I 'M GOING TO SEND YOU TO GREENE CORRECTIONAL CENTER, THE LITTLE GREEN ROOM WHERE THEY GIVE LETHAL INJECTIONS!" said Bruce.

"You know....I'd almost prefer Lt. Tragg to him." whispered Yvette.

"For Real." said Sofia...

"Oh My God! What is with him?" said Bee Bee.

"Bruce...Bruce...I am so sorry...So Sorry I hurt you....I know how you must feel believe me....If you ever had any feelings for me you'd drop these charges....Blake didn't do this...You must know this.. Lt. Tragg has sketchy evidence if any at all...Blake is innocent...He's no killer." pleaded Elaine.

"I've got enough to put Blake on the table or at least behind bars for a sufficient number of years...I wish I had evidence to put you behind bars as a co-conspiritor." said Bruce.
