 SATURDAY NIGHT- THREE DAYS LATER- GIGGLES COMEDY CLUB- BAYSIDE..

"Thank you for inviting us to hang out with you guys today."said Alexa.

"We Went up to the jail to visit Ryan the day before yesterday."said Cassidy..

 

 "We went up to visit him yesterday...He's in good spirits."said Yvette.

"As good as you can be ,being locked up." said Gary.

"Yeah....We are working hard on his defense." I said.

"Around the clock."added Bee Bee.

"We've got enough to create reasonable doubt."said Sofia.

''What we need is that DNA information ,That will absolve him."said Kahlil.

"I'm waiting too, They are swamped over there."said Jade.

"They really are..I know that for a fact." said Danny Ho.

"The Sooner we get that DNA evidence , The sooner we can wrap this case  up."said Virginia.

"I wish you guys luck." said Jetty.

 Drinks were flowing....

"Rollie Rollerson is on the board of this club's Board of Directors....That's how I was able to get everybody in free for this show." said Olivia.

 

"42 people...This was nice." said Donnie Ray.

"I know of two of these comedians....I've seen them on television..They are funny."said Beverly.

"I know the third one who is closing the show...He's funny too."said Nelson.

"Yes I've seen him too!"said Josie.

"So have I...They've got three good ones tonight."said Paris.

"They've got a surprise comedian opening up the show."said Bresha.  "A Woman." she added.

"I hope she's good."said Tony.

"How bad can she be..with three heavyweights on the show?" said Alfreda.

"Yeah really?"said Rockland.

"You guys drove here behind our buses...We have room for you to stay the night with us Alexa."said Jazzy.

"Thank you."said Alexa.
 

"And Cassidy...You can stay with Kayla."said Dabnis.

"Yes, you are quite welcome..We have an extra room too!Stay until the morning."said Kayla.

"Yeah, please be our guest.." said Ray.

"Ohhhhh Thank you guys...." said Cassidy. She didn't feel like that long drive back to her condo...

''We are those type of friends." said Jessica.

"Yes."said Chip.

"The show is getting ready to start.."said Karen.

"Yeah the lights are going down." said B.L.

"Stop feeling me up."giggled Natalie , removing David's hands from under her skirt.

"Okay...Okayyyy."said David.

"The lights are dimming...thw show is about to start." said Brooke, smiling and removing her husband's hands from beneath her skirt..

Sean smiled sheepishly....

"I've heard of these three comedians, I've even seen them on television." said Zoey.

"Yeah but uh there is an extra comedian...She's opening the show."said Lem.

"I wonder who that is?" asked Renee.

"I don't know.."said Tyrell.

"Well she's getting ready to come on now.." said Lee.

"Oh Boy,I can't wait." said Matthew.

"There is an air of excitment."exclaimed Nina.

"Yes it is." said her husband, Carlos.

And so the show began, 

The MC named the two headliners , who we had come to see..."Before our headliner comes on..We have our first guest...She's an Attorney by day and a Stand Up Comedian by night....So laugh at her jokes or she'll sue you.." the MC.

The Crowd laughed....

"Show your love for Ms. Karen White.." he said..

A Silent hush came over all of us....

Nelson drooped down in his seat....

"Awwwwwwwwwww HELL!!! I thought she gave this up.." he said..

"I wish she had...."said a mortified Olivia.

"What's the matter buddy?" asked .Keith Jones, laughing..

"That's Nelson's ex.... She's an Attorney....She moonlights as a stand up comedian...We repped her once on a murder charge...She was charged with murdering a heckler...I kid you not" laughed Beverly...

"OHHHHH WOWWWWW! Yeah I remember her...I hope she's improved her act." laughed Kahlil...

"No wonder he slumped down in his seat,.I remember her."said Sofia.

"Unfortunately I do too, Ughh! This ought to be good."laughed Bresha..

"Not on your life.."laughed Beverly.

"Oh we are going to have a treat tonight.."laughed Bee Bee..

"Oh My God....I remember her, She was terrible." said Yvette.

"Yeah, I remember her...She was pretty bad."said Gary.

"Ohhhhhh mannnnn.She had the long stories that never went anywhere....."laughed Keith Jones..

''YESSSSSSSSSSSS!...She is nottttt funny, I remember three or four years ago."chided Josie.

"Yeah, she was terrible."remembered Paris.

"Josie and Paris are right..." said Beverly...

''She's not lying.. Oh My God!!!!"said Nelson.

"Damn...I remember her....Nelson's ex-girlfriend....She was an Attorney...She gave it up for Stand Up Comedy." I said.

"Yes..We heard her before...Remember? She was awful....She should have went back to practicing law...It couldn't have been as bad as her stand up.." said Olivia...

"She can't be that bad." said Virginia, who had never heard her act.

Karen came on the stage...She was met by applause...Obviously these people hadn't heard her stand up routine...

"Hello yall...As The M.C.Said... I am a practicing Attorney...Yeah, I went back..I practice in the day and do this at night so you better laugh at my jokes or I'll sue your asses..." she said..

That was met with only light laughter...

She told her first joke...Nothing...She then went into another long monolouge that went nowhere...Again nothing...

She then chided the crowd for not laughing...

She went into another long monolouge that got no laughs at all...

"Tough crowd tonight...heh heh heh....You need more drinks huh?  Heh heh heh!" she said and went into yet another monolouge...It went nowhere..

"Oh she sucks." said Virginia.

"She's Awful." said Alexa.

"Oh My God....She is terrible..I hope she's better in the courtroom."said Bresha..

"I hope she doesn't tell jokes in the courtroom....The Judge would throw her out." said Cassidy..

"That's funnier than anything she's said tonight so far." said Jetty.

Beverly cracked up laughing....

"Oh My God, tell just one funny joke. Please! " said Nelson almost pleadingly...

Karen began doing impressions.....

Again, no laughter....

"Last time, there was a heckler here...The woman she was accused of murdering....SHE WAS FUNNY." said Josie..

''Yeah, she got more laughs than the comedian " said Paris..

Me ,Bee Bee, Sofia and Kahlil all laughed...

Karen thought she had scored and looked at them...

"My ex is here with his wife and some friends...Let's give them a healthy round of applause folks..They laughed.." she said.

But the crowd was silent..

She told another joke...Nothing...She then went into another long monolouge that went nowhere...Again nothing...

She then chided the crowd for not laughing...

"Come on, how many drinks you people need before you laugh?" she asked.

"A LOT!" came a voice from the crowd...

That got a lot of laughs.

She went into another long monolouge that got no laughs at all...

"Tough crowd tonight...heh heh heh...This is a real tough crowd...." she said and went into yet another monolouge...It went nowhere..

"Oh My God...I actually feel bad for her." said Beverly..

"Ohhhh man, I feel bad period."said Nelson..

"Donnie Ray, are you alright?" asked Olivia, who was laughing herself.

Donnie Ray was laughing so hard that he was doubled over..He was laughing at how she was bombing...

Karen thought she had gotten through to at least one person...She had no idea he was laughing  at how bad she was.

She told her next joke...Nothing...She then went into another long monologue that went nowhere...Again nothing...

She then chided the crowd again for not laughing...

"What is wrong with you guys?" she asked ,almost pleadingly.

She went into another long monolouge that got no laughs at all...

"Tough crowd tonight...heh heh heh...." she said  again and went into yet another monolouge...It went nowhere.. 

 "Oh My God....She is terrible..I hope she's better in the courtroom."said Jazzy.

"I hope so too...She hasn't told a funny joke yet."said Dabnis.

"Oh My God, she is bad....Not funny at all."said Kayla.

"And she doesn't realize it..She thinks she's funny." said Ray.

"She can't think that."said Jessica.

"She's so unfunny, she's actually funny." said  Chip.

"I know right?" said Karen..

"This is brutal! I hope the other comedians are funny."said B.L.

 "Oh My God....She is terrible..I hope she's better in the courtroom."said Natalie.

"I hope so too...She hasn't told a funny joke yet."said David.

"I hope she hurries up and finishes her set."said Brooke.

"So do I.." said Sean.

Karen began doing impressions again....

Again, no laughter....

"OUUUUUUUUUUU BRUTAL!" said Zoey.

"She doesn't sound like any of the people she's trying to imitate." said Lem.

Karen was in the middle of yet another meaningless monolouge that was going nowhere and getting no laughs....Within minutes...Half of the crowd left was buying drinks and talking  AND LEAVING, and she was still going on...

"GEEEZ, Take a hint baby...You aint funny." said Renee.

"Oh My God....I have never heard a comedian so NOT funny." said Tyrell.

"I heard she's an attorney...I hope she doesn't tell jokes during trials or negotiations." said Lee.

"She'd make the jurors angry." said Matthew.

Nina cracked up laughing..

"She'd make anybody angry...She's making me angry right now."said Nina.

Karen thought she was laughing at her...So she went into another long monologue that went nowhere and did not get a laugh...

Soon people were booing..and booing lustfully...

Now Carlos was laughing.

"OH MY GOD!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" he said,laughing himself.

She finally left the stage....No one even clapped..

"THE HELL WITH YALL....GOOOD NIGHT!" She said, which was met by clapping. She stomped her foot in disgust and stormed off the stage..

"Karyn White everybody...Karyn White....Give it up for Karyn White!!!! And Now the first of our three headliners."said the M.C.

Three very good comedians came on next....They got the crowd laughing...and laughing hard...And the people who had left returned...

 

 "Well thank goodness , these guys are funny." said Yvette.

"Yes they are, they are actually making me forget that first woman."said Gary.

" This turned out to be a good night after all." I said.

"Yes...the last two were funny...I hope the last comedian is funny."said Bee Bee.

"Nobody will be as bad as that first woman...wouuuuuu!" said Sofia.

"You are right about that."said Kahlil..

Jade was laughing...This time for real..

So was her husband, Danny..

So was Virginia..

And so was Jetty. 

Olivia was glad that the night turned out to be a success...That the three comedians who came after Karen were funny and all of her friends enjoyed them.

 

Donnie Ray was happy for his wife.

"Tonight was not a bust after all.."said Beverly..

"Nah, those three comedians were hillarious...They made the night worthwhile."said Nelson.

"They sure did...."said Josie.

"I thought tonight was gonna be a bust...Turns out it wasn't."said Paris.

"No it wasn't...I had a good time.."said Bresha.

"So did I...We have to come back."said Tony...

"Hopefully Karen won't be back..."said Alfreda.

"She's got to know she's not funny.."said Rockland..

"She's got to know it...People were walking out on her."said Alexa.

"I was ready to walk out.." said Cassidy..."But the three comedians who came after her were actually very good.. Thank you Olivia for a great night."said Cassidy.

"You all are quite welcome."said a relieved Olivia.

Yvette hugged her best friend...

"Thanks Livy...For a great night out." said Yvette.

 

We all piled on to the buses and headed home to Philadelphia.

After we all got home from our night at the comedy club in Bayside..We were all settled down with our significant others.. What better way to end a nice night like we had had, like we had  than to be making love.Making it an even nicer night.

THE BRIDGE BUILDING- MONDAY MORNING

After such a nice weekend.... We were back in our conference room working on Ryan Cooper's defense.

Cassidy and Alexa went out to fetch everything...She didn't want there to be any chance of her running into Lt. Tragg again, just in case he was at the shoppe.

"Aww man thanks... Guess what? We tracked the GPS on his phone....It has him stopping by Sam Mother's Diner to buy take out at exactly when he said he did..at 5:45 pm..And I have a credit card receipt to back that up." I said.

"We have street camera footage  and building cam footage of him leaving the building when he said he did at 5:30 and none of him returning."said Bee Bee

"His GPS shows that he did go home and we don't have him leaving until the next morning.."said Sofia.

"I know he's locked up...but couldn't we give him a lie detector case to seal the deal?" asked Kahlil.

"You can't use the results in court but I see where you're going...At least we'd know beyond a shadow of a doubt." said Yvette, smiling at the four of us..

"I'm going to check on that DNA evidence today.."said Jade.

"LOOK WHO WE HAVE HERE!!" exclaimed Ms. Virginia.

It was Ryan Cooper!

"RYAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" asked Cassidy...

"OH WOWWWW! DID YOU ESCAPE?" joked Alexa.

"My Mother is chief counsel for State Senator Brickworth....She told him of my plight , He made a few calls ,one to an area Judge and voila!  I was released.." he said.

"How nice it must be ,to be you." said Yvette. None of our clients, Black or White had connections like that...If we couldn't get them out of jail they were just stuck.

"Nice to see you." I said.

"Yeah glad you got out."said Bee Bee.

"Now we can give him a polygraph." said Sofia.

"Yeah." said Kahlil.

''Well while you're at that...I'm going to head to the M.E.'s Office." said Jade.

"Bring us back some good news."said Virginia.

We got a Polygraph machine from our main office.  Virginia knew how to administer the test. We hooked Ryan up to it and asked him a series of questions.

A polygraph, often incorrectly referred to as a lie detector test device or procedure that measures and records several physiological indicators such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while a person is asked and answers a series of questions. The belief underpinning the use of the polygraph is that deceptive answers will produce physiological responses that can be differentiated from those associated with non-deceptive answers; however, there are no specific physiological reactions associated with lying, making it difficult to identify factors that separate those who are lying from those who are telling the truth.

Ryan however passed the test with flying colors..

"Looks like he's telling the truth." said Virginia.

"Told you guys.....I'm a lover, not a killer.."laughed Ryan.

 

 ''Keep that same energy in court... and uh stay out of sight...Keep a low profile."said Yvette.

"I will, I will, especially if Cassidy agrees to go on a light weight date with me tonight." he asked.

I laughed out loud.

"What an operater" said Bee Bee.

"Aint he though?" said Sofia.

"Can't knock a guy for trying."laughed Kahlil.

"Okay, but it's just a date...It's not going to lead to anything...you got that?" said Cassidy..

"That goes without saying..."laughed Ryan...

A FEW HOURS LATER-

Cassidy and Ryan went out to dinner at Bottom of the C.  Philly's tony Steak and Seafood restaurant.

and enjoyed crabs and beers.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Ryan, this is soooo nice... I wasn't expecting this." said Cassidy , who was just a wee bit tipsy...

"I know ...you thought I was some cheapskate that just wanted to get into your panties." said Ryan.
