It was 11:30 Friday Night..... Toni was home doing laundry instead of being out in the streets.

"Thank you for helping me with my laundry Eric... I can't believe you drove all the way out here from Bayside."said Toni Robinson...

"To see you, I'd drive from L.A. to Cincinatti." said Eric Sellers.

"I've been invited too...To answer your question, Nah, not for a long time...I was working as the Personal Assistant to The Judge and going to school...I managed to finish Community College and Temple the time I worked for her.. She was a nice woman...I liked her...That damn husband of hers was a different story...I couldn't stand him and the feeling was mutual."said Eric.

"So what are your plans now?" asked Toni.

"I got another job in Bayside and the Judge left me money in her will to attend Middleton School of Law for all three years, So in the fall I begin there.."said Eric.

"Oh that's wonderful..." said Toni.

They lifted the two baskets upstairs to her apartment...

"It's nice having a laundromat here in your building....This whole area is nice...You got three shopping centers, with every store imaginable, a multiplex clubs, restaurants, everything you need."said Eric.

"Everything I need except company...My friends live a few blocks away...They're all married and there are two girls who live in this building that I'm pretty good friends with..."said Toni..

"But you mean a man right?  I can't believe you don't have one.."said Eric.

"I had one...We broke up...He moved to New York and I didn't want to go with him...You know how that is..."said Toni..

The next morning, Three Bus loads of people left to go to the beach...followed by a catering van..

Eric and Toni were staying in house one ,owned by Nelson with Olivia, Donnie Ray, Beverly, Nelson, Josie, Paris, Bresha, Tony, Alfreda, Rockland, Ms. Yvette, her husband, Gary, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil, Jade ,Danny, Virginia and Jetty....all nice people.

"WOWWWW!  THIS IS A NICE HOUSE!"said Eric..

"And so is the two next to it..."said Toni, who was a bit surprised herself 

"We are just so  happy you two could join us...We come down here Memorial Day, The 4th of July, Labor Day and weekends like this in the summer when the mood hits us." said Olivia.

 

"We'll be back down here in two weeks...You're both welcome to join us."said Donnie Ray.

"I'll call you Toni, let you know what to bring...and tell Alexa too..."said Beverly.

"I'm just amazed all of us are down here."said Nelson.

"We are never going to miss a chance to come down here.."said Josie.

"You can't beat it...Free Transportation, Food , drink, good fellowship..."said Paris..

"And comfortable bedrooms with central air.."said Bresha ,smiling..

"It's a slice of heaven."said Tony.

"It's something nice, Olivia ,Nelson , Renee and I organized for all of our friends."said Alfreda.

"Yeah they put the food and the games together...The rest kinda fell in place said Rockland..

"Yeah, I see." said Eric.

 "Eric! I'm just so glad you are no longer in jail or under a murder rap..."said Yvette.

"I know he is too!"laughed her husband, Gary.

"Don't just stand there...get comfortable... Your room is on the first floor...And then come on out and get some food and drink."said Keith Jones..

"Toni that's a beautiful dress you're wearing.."said Bee Bee.

"It is..."said Sofia.

"Thank you...I bought it from the dress shop in Bayside, the day I saw you all there.."said Toni.

"That was the day our case ended.."said Kahlil.

"I know you want to go and visit with Sissy and her detectives..."said Jade.

"After I eat, I'll wander over there."said Danny.

"This is so nice and going to be sooo relaxing."said Virginia.

In house two, also owned by Nelson... was the rest of Olivia and Yvette's group...Jazzy, her husband, Dabnis, Kayla, her husband, Ray, Jessica, her husband, Chip, Karen, her husband, B.L. , Natalie, David,Brooke, Sean, Renee, Tyrell,Ms. Zoey, her husband, Lem, Lee, her husband, Matthew, Nina Diaz and her husband, Carlos Diaz. all cool people that He and Toni knew and had socialized with previously..

Eric and Toni walked over to their house..

''Well that's good because I don't have any."laughed  Eric.

"So glad you and Eric decided to come down here with us this weekend."said Natalie..

"Yeah...this is a nice getaway.."said David.

"I'm glad you asked me..Most weekends, I look for things to do." said Toni.

"You're welcome to go shopping with us when we go to Bayside and join us for Brunch at the No I.D. Bar on Saturday Mornings."said Brooke.

"They have a brunch?" asked Toni.

"YEAH, one of the best in the city...and you know about Super Brunch at Josie's on Sunday with live music and all." said Sean..

''No I didn't..You guys know all of the happenings."gushed Toni.

"You're new to this neighborhood...but there is a lot to do on any given day..."said Zoey..

"Yeah stick with us...We'll school you."said Lem.

"Soooooo Ms. Toni...I see you've gotten over your break up with Nick." said Renee.

''Yeah!  Eric is soooo cool..We are taking things slow for now." said Toni.

"That's good and this is the best place to do that...Here amongst friends.."said Tyrell.

"Me and My husband started out just like you two and began hanging out with these guys and soon we got closer and closer."said Lee.

"You'll be just fine.."said Matthew..

"Now come on...let's go and eat..Those grills are fired up.."said Nina.

"Grab a plate." said Carlos.

There was Pork and Beans, Pasta Salad and Cole Slaw already prepared by Beverly, Josie and Bresha and being taken out to the tents..

House Three was right next to it.. Nelson did not own that....but some friends of theirs had chipped in and purchased it.. They were detectives, members of the elite Criminal Investigation Division and also neighbors and friends of Olivia and Yvette.

Lt. Sissy Van Buren, her husband, Eddie C.  , Detective Carlotta Rodriguez-Wallace and her husband, Assistant District Attorney Keith Wallace, Detectives Tyriq and Serena Pile, Detectives Jimmy Barlow and his wife, Angie Barlow, Detective Tony Hopkins and his wife, FBI-ATF Regional Director, Sharon Hopkins, both of whom attended law school with Olivia, Yvette and Karen and Detective Edwin "Duke"

Baylor and his wife, Coroner, Dr. Hazel Baylor..

"Sissy I'm so glad we were able to get you and your folks down here this weekend..."said Olivia.

"Olivia, we had just cracked three big cases and we really needed to reprogram...When you called me, I said this would be perfect." said Sissy.

"I'm going to join Duke, Rico,Donnie Ray and Gary on those grills."said her husband, Eddie C.

"I am so glad to be down here...This is so relaxing."said Carlotta.

"We needed this break...This was just what the doctor ordered..."said Keith Wallace.

''We've been so busy we haven't even been in Josie's in awhile."said Tyriq.

''Well now we can relax a bit...For awhile." said Sirena.

Jimmy put his arm around his wife , Angie Belton-Barlow and hugged her..

Angie smiled and leaned her head into his shoulders...

'' Nice to be in the company of our old law school buddies and then some huh?" said Tony Hopkins.

"It sure is...Who knew we'd be in each others lives this long?" said his wife Sharon Hopkins...

"Babe they're playing a slow song, let's dance." said Duke.

Hazel enjoyed slow dancing with her husband, she enjoyed being off work for the next three days..

No dead bodies, No Lt. Tragg...It was heaven, pure heaven she thought.

Inside each house was Alexa, playing a cool combination of Classic Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Smooth Jazz and Present day Hip Hop...

There was Chess for those that played..

and Backgammon....

and a number of card games, pinochle ,spades and the like for those that partaked.

Outside three party tents were constructed. behind the houses.... and inside were grills.. On the grills were sausages, Ribs, Steaks, Corn, Burgers and Dogs, and even seafood.. There was no need for anyone to go out and buy food...It was all here..

And enough Beer and Soda to quench any thirst...

"Mannnnnn what a spread they got here.." exclaimed Eric

"They all work very hard...and they play hard as well."said Toni.

There were desserts this time, Three Pies, Apple, Sweet Potato and Lemon Merangue Pie..

Nightfall came!

"Looking forward to it." he said as everyone lined up behind them for Breakfast.... 

"Dig in everybody....There are no strangers here..We are all family."said Olivia.

 

"There is plenty of food here..Don't be shy, eat it all." said Donnie Ray.

"I don't think you have to tell em twice...This crowd is ready to eat.."said Beverly..

"I know I am..."said Nelson...

"I'm famished...After last night.."said Paris..

"Same thing we were doing.  Same thing everybody here are doing."said her husband, Tony.

"Yall need to stop."laughed Alfreda...

"Let's move this line...I'm Hungry.."laughed Rockland. 

 "We out did ourselves this weekend." said Yvette.

"And we are going to be back down here in two weeks for Memorial Day." said Gary.

"I can't wait." said Keith Jones.

"Me too!" said Bee Bee.

"This is sooo nice... I'm going to get a lot of rest today." said Sofia.

"I'm going to make a few plates and we are going to retire to the room." said Kahlil.

"That's a good idea." said Jade.

"I'm going to Sissy's house and play cards with the guys." said Danny.

"I thank Sofia and Kahlil have the right idea about making some plates and retiring to the room." said Virginia.

"I'll be right behind you."said Jetty...

''We playing Pinocle today?" asked Jazzy.
 

"Yeah, Beverly , Kayla ,Brooke and Natalie said they'll be playing."said Dabnis.

" Yeah , we'll be playing ." said Kayla.

"Yeah, right after breakfast, we'll be around..." said Ray...

"I think I'll be making plates and retreating to the room to relax until this afternoon."said Jessica.

" Yeah, same here." said Chip..

"Let's go for a walk after breakfast...Maybe to the beach." said Karen..

"Yeah that sounds like a plan." said B.L.

"I'm playing Pinocle with Jazzy, Beverly and Kayla today..."said Natalie.

"I want to watch and learn the game."said David.

"I'm playing too...I'll teach you." said Brooke.

"Definitely a fun game." said Sean.

"Wanna walk me to the shopping center? I have a few things I want to pick up." said Zoey.

"Sure.."said Lem.

"I think I want to play spades...anybody playing?" asked Renee.

"Everybody I've talked to is playing Pinocle."said Tyrell.

"I'm just going to relax if you'll let me.."laughed Lee.

"Sure I will..."said Matthew laughing...

"Ugh Uhhhh, you'll be all over me..." laughed Lee..

"That's what you're down here for..enjoy."laughed Nina.
