THE FISHBOWL- The nickname the detectives gave their interrogation room.

"MY GOD!! THIS ROOM SMELLS GHASTLY....DON'T YOU GUYS EVER EMPTY THE TRASH CANS, MOP THESE FLOORS, PUT SOME FEBREEZE UP?? PEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUU!" said Judge Elise Cummings... It was the only thing she'd said since she'd been arrested and brought downtown.

Assistant District Attorney Lucas Fuentes rarely ventured down here, but he actually agreed with Judge Cummings about the smell of the room, though he wasn't about to admit that... He stared at her balefully.

Lt. Tragg stared at her too....She was gorgeous as looks go he thought, but he hated her politics, her advocacy and her attitude in general.

He passed her a piece of paper and a pen....

"Tell us what happened...Make it easy on yourself." he said.

"What? Do you two think I'm some skell you've brought in here off the street? I'm a Judge for crying out loud and before that I was a pretty decent defense attorney...I'm not saying anything to you..." she said and she didn't say another word.

"Pratt was going to accuse you of being a co-conspirator in his fraud trial...You know that and I know that....It would've been the end of your tenure as a judge...might have possibly lead to disbarment. He had to be silenced." said Lt. Tragg.

''Why don't you try writing detective fiction....You're much better at that than you are at being a cop!" snarled Elise Cummings..

"You know I once suggested that." said Yvette... "Hello again Elise." said Yvette...

"Yvette! You're the attorneys Olivia sent?" asked Elise..

"Yes..She and her team are out of town...They're in D.C. for a few days...So as a Favor to her...I am taking your case." said Yvette.

"That's fine...I remember your team...Hi Keith, Beatrice, Sofia, Kahlil, Jade." said Elise.

"Heyyyy Girl." I said, smiling.

"Hiiiii Elise." said Bee Bee.

We were all so comfortable with her.. We addressed her on a first name basis when we weren't in court.

"Hola Elise." said Sofia.

"Heyyyyy Elise." said Kahlil...

"Hi Elise." said Jade.

"I don't believe I know you." said Elise looking at Alexa.

''This is Alexa...She's new to our firm...She's going to be working with us on the case."said Yvette.

"She's Olivia's nephew's girlfriend." Yvette said, knowing this would drive Lt. Tragg bonkers.

"Can I have the room to confer with my attorneys?" said Elise.

"Come on counselor, we've got to leave." said Lt. Tragg.

ADA Fuentes angrily stomped his foot and stormed out of the room..

From another room they listened and watched what was going on in the "Fishbowl"

Yvette passed Elise a sheet of paper and a pen..

She said in French..."Write down the names , addresses , email addresses and phone numbers of people who can vouch for your good charactors."

Elise gave us 75 names... Three sheets worth...

"Okay girlfriend...Sit tight...Freedom is coming mama." said Yvette.

With that, we all exited.

"Ms. Yvette speaking in French totally spooked them." I laughed.

"Yeah they don't think we knew that they were watching and listening." said Bee Bee.

"We knew all along...And we didn't give them a thing they could go on." said Sofia.

''And Elise knows not to talk to anybody.." said Kahlil.

"Before she was a Judge, she was a defense attorney just like us...It would have been an insult to tell her that." said Yvette as we left..

"Let's get out of here...I don't want the smell of this place to get in our clothes."said Jade.

And in the other room-

"They didn't give us anything." said ADA Lucas Fuentes.

''Did you expect them to? They're not some green Public Defenders, right out of Law School.. They've been in the game a long time." said Lt. Tragg actually showing a bit of respect for us.

COURTROOM D-

TUESDAY NIGHT- A NIGHT LATER-

NIGHT COURT-

In Philadelphia, Night Court only operates two nights a week....Tuesday and Thursday, Tonight was Thursday...and fortunately...We got an arraignment date of 8:00 pm.

The Judge in this case would not be the Judge in the actual case....

Lt. Tragg was not there... Night court was too low profile for him...No witnesses...No media..and a bunch of Judges and ADA's who were mostly older Judges and ADA's about to retire...It was lightweight. It was in session from 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays...We were quite fortunate to get a date.

The ADA that did show up was not going to be the ADA that tried the case...He had only the basic out line of the case at hand... He basically wanted to go home...So he didn't really put up much of a fight.

We arrived on time with Elise..

"I've heard of this Night Court Thing and how a lot of attorneys use it as an easy way to get their clients out on bail." said Elise.

"Sometimes no bail at all if we are lucky, which we are hoping for tonight." said Yvette.

"Hopefully we get you out of here tonight." said Alexa.

"It meets two nights a week...Tuesday and Thursday..."I said.

"We were very fortunate to get an appointment this week and this short of notice." said Bee Bee.

"Our charactor witnesses are here." said Sofia.

All 75 of them walked in....

''Well it's showtime...let's go."said Kahlil.

"Good Luck" said Jade , who sat in the visitor's section..

"This ought to be interesting." said Elise..

Yvette and Alexa presented Elise Cummings long record of service to the court as a Municipal Court Judge...and before that her record as a Defense Attorney...Both the Judge and the ADA knew her and liked her.

Yvette and Alexa argued that these charges were ludicrous and that Judge Cummings awaited her day in court to battle these egregious charges and was not a flight risk.

Bee Bee and I presented 12 charactor witnesses a piece...

While Sofia presented 26 charactor witnesses..

And Kahlil presented the final 25 charactor witnesses...

The Judge had heard enough...He released Elise on her own recognizance. No Bail, No Ankle Bracelet...

"Thank You Mama!" said Elise , hugging Yvette...

Our Bail Bondsman was there just in case we needed him, smiled and left the courtroom.

Jade came over with some surprise guests from the visitor's section-Olivia and Beverly were there with their staff and their spouses.

"Hi Yall, Hi Vettie, Elise, guys.. Our case ended early and we got back , just in time to see you guys work your magic." said Olivia, hugging Elise.

"Hello Olivia. Thank you for sending me such an astute legal team." said Elise.

"Heyyyy They're the team we go to when we need legal aid." said Donnie Ray...

"They got you out with no bail, no ankle bracelet..."said Beverly.

"But the best thing is.. They got you out...After barely a day in stir." said Nelson..

"Hi Elise..This is my husband, Paris." said Josie.

"Hello." said Paris.

"Hi Elise...I'm Bresha and this is my husband, Tony.." she said.

"Hello." said Tony.

"Nice meeting you guys...I don't know about you...but I'm famished... I know a great place to go for a late bite." said Elise.

It was 10:00 pm.

She took us to a rooftop Bar and Grille across town...Olivia and her crew had been here with Attorney Harvey Bailey a few weeks before.

We all decided to have Breakfast Food-

Pancakes, Breakfast Sausage and Hash Browns...

"I know normally you'd all go over to Sam Mothers place but I don't want there to be any chance of running into Lt. Tragg or Lucas Fuentes tonight. They'll find out I'm out soon enough." said Elise.

"That's fine with us...This place is nice..."said Yvette.

"The Food is delicious." said Alexa.

"I'm surprised I 've never heard of this spot." I said.

"Probably a lot of spots we've never heard of." said Bee Bee.

"Well it's nice that we know about it now." said Sofia.

"Boyyy Lt. Tragg is going to be livid when he finds out you're free."said Kahlil.

"So is ADA Fuentes." laughed Jade.

"The thing is..He has less than a case...Even Lt. Tragg has to see that."said Olivia.

''A Conversation allegedly had with a dead man 7 years ago... The Dead man can't testify now and they can't use his words at all.. I'm not a lawyer and I understand that." said Donnie Ray.

"The Thing is...Fuentes is a lawyer and he doesn't seem to understand that he has next to nothing."said Beverly.

"Maybe he'll understand in a few days and he'll come to his senses and drop the charges." said Nelson.

''Don't bet on it...it's a thing of pride with him now. Same thing with Lt. Tragg..They can't admit when they are wrong..."said Josie.

"And they get mad when you prove it beyond a doubt." said Paris.

"That's right." said Bresha.

Tony was busy chowing down on the pancakes, not really taking part in the conversation..

Mimosas and coffees arrived and we ate ,drank, laughed and talked the rest of the night.

We all were home after a nice night..A successful night.

After we all got home that night..We were all settled down with our significant others.. What better way to spend a night like this than to be making love.?

"We never thought to do that when we were working there." I laughed.

"Well he's out of luck....and even if he one day discovers this location....He can't come in without being buzzed in." said Sofia.

"I hope he never discovers this location."said Kahlil.
