We were sitting in the courthouse waiting area , awaiting a verdict in our fifth trial....This was the longest trial of our careers...Ms. Yvette's too! We were defending Millionaire Socialite Lauren Houser on a First Degree Murder Charge.

She was accused of poisoning her much younger husband , for the 2.5 million dollar insurance policy and an even larger inheritance.. She sat quietly with us as we awaited the fifth verdict..

4 Hung Juries wears out even the sharpest attorneys.

We were working with acclaimed Defense Attorney Johnny Graham, a very flamboyant and handsome Attorney who won most of his cases... He asked us to join him in this case...

"Oh My god, Four hung juries...I don't know if I can handle a fifth....I've never had a case that lasted this long." said Ms. Yvette.

"I had two hung juries and I eventually got an acquittal in the third case... Never one this long either.. It's that prick Bruce Greene's fault!"said Johnny Graham.

"I'm exhausted..." I said, leaning my head on my wife's shoulders..

"Me too Hot Stuff...Me too!" said Bee Bee,.

"I think it's cute that you call him that..." said Sofia.

"I've been calling him that since we became a couple." said Bee Bee. Actually she'd been calling me that since the first time we had sex.

The First trial we had our favorite Judge, Kelly Ann Mercer..

The Jury Hung 6-6...

Assistant District Attorney immediately refiled charges...

We got Judge Julie Wong for the second trial!

The Jury hung 7-5 our way...

Assistant District Attorney immediately refiled charges...

We got Judge Telma Bailey...

The Jury Hung 7-5 again in our favor....

Stubborn Assistant District Attorney Bruce Green again refiled charges...He really wanted to win this case and was certain he could.

Lt. Tragg wanted a win in this case too...For once he had really put in the work for this case...

Ms. Yvette and acclaimed defense attorney , John Graham Filed a motion to drop all charges , arguing

that three trials was enough and that nothing had been proven either way and three trials was putting our client through enough.

But Judge Michael King shot us down and ironically enough became our fourth judge in the fourth trial.

The Jury hung in that one too...6-6....and you guessed it..

Assistant District Attorney Bruce Greene immediately refiled charges...and we wound up with yet a fifth trial, awaiting what we hoped was a verdict.

We had a Judge we hadn't seen in awhile..Judge Martika Anderson...

COURTROOM A-

"ALL RISE FOR THE HONORABLE JUDGE MARTIKA ANDERSON"said the Bailiff...

"Be Seated...Has the Jury reached a verdict?" she asked.

"We have your Honor.." said the Jury Foreman...(ironically enough, one of Bruce Greene's picks..(Kahlil and I had won a narrow 7-5 victory over him in juror selection in every trial._)

The Jury foreman passed the verdict to the Bailiff..

He passed it to Judge Martika Anderson.

She read it and smiled..

"Will the defendant and her attorneys please stand." she said.

Lauren Houser stood up....This was the fifth time...She was beyond being nervous, she was tired, she just wanted to get this over with...regardless of the verdict.

Johnny Graham wanted a win...He felt as though his here to for unblemished reputation was on the line..

I don't know what Bee Bee and Sofia were feeling, they were holding hands...

Sofia was nervous, as nervous as she had been in all of the trials..

Kahlil's face betrayed no emotion at all.. He stood stoically.

"Bailiff read the verdict."said Judge Anderson...

"COUNT ONE, MANSLAUGHTER- WE THE PEOPLE OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA FIND THE DEFENDANT, LAUREN HOUSER, NOT GUILTY!"he said,.

"Oh MY GOD!" she said. But she wasn't out of the water yet...

"COUNT TWO, SECOND DEGREE MURDER, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA FIND THE DEFENDANT, LAUREN HOUSER, NOT GUILTY!"he said,.

Lauren Houser held Ms. Yvette and Johnny Graham tightly...

"This is it!" said Yvette, relieved that the jury had come to a decision on at least two of the three charges.

"Yes, this is it." said Johnny Graham..

"AND THE MOST SERIOUS CHARGE, COUNT THREE FIRST DEGREE MURDER-WE THE PEOPLE OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA FIND THE DEFENDANT, LAUREN HOUSER, NOT GUILTY!"he said,.

It was a slam dunk and it was over!

Bruce Greene took it hard, he tossed his suit jacket up into the air....He kicked the table several times..

He spun around like a top and was in tears...

"STUPID JURY, STUPID STUPID JURY...WHAT TRIAL WERE YOU LISTENING TO!! STUPID JURY!!" he yelled,.,.

"Hey Calm down Bruce...We tried , We tried.. Things just didn't work out is all, Calm down before you get yourself tossed in the cooler."said Lt. Tragg. Things were really bad, when Lt. Tragg was the voice of reason..

But Bruce couldn't calm down...He kicked the table several times again..

He spun around like a top and was in tears...

"STUPID JURY, STUPID STUPID JURY...WHAT TRIAL WERE YOU LISTENING TO!! STUPID JURY!!" he yelled,.,.

"I'm not going to have that in my courtroom... Mr. Greene...I've warned you before about your behavior..

Bailiffs take him into custody....A Night in the cooler will cool him off.."said the Judge,

"OH MY GOD!!! THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOO MUCH!" said a relieved Lauren Houser.

"Mannnn I'm used to a six day trial at best.....This damn thing lasted five trials...4 Hung Juries... That Prick Bruce Greene likes to torture people....He knew he had no case..He knew it..and he kept refiling..." said Johnny Graham.

''Well He is cooling off in the Cooler tonight, where the Judge sent him after he threw a hissy fit in the courtroom."

"Honestly, I don't know how Paula puts up with him...He's so persnickety.." said Bee Bee.

"I know.. I hate to say this, but he's worse than a woman with his emotions .." said Sofia.

"No he is...Kicking the table, tossing his suit jacket up in the air and all." said Kahlil.

"At first his antics were funny, but now they've gotten a little worn." said Jade.

"He needs therapy." said Danny Ho.

"I don't blame Judge Anderson for jailing him....Somebody has got to show him he can't carry on like a park ape when things don't go his way."said Jetty.

More drinks arrived.

"I did too! I know they are relieved that that trial ended...Four hung juries and finally an acquittal."said Beverly.

"I wonder if Bruce Greene would have refiled charges if this fifth trial had ended in a hung jury instead of an acquittal." said Nelson.

"They would have had to appeal again to have the charges dropped. I'm surprised Judge King let him refile again." said Josie.

"I don't care for him...He's a hard nose."said Paris.

"Nahhhhh, he's tough, but he's not so bad most of the time...I don't understand his reaction either."said Bresha.

"Maybe they caught him on a bad day." said Tony...

"I heard in all four cases the jury broke 7-5 in the defense's way..."said Alfreda.

"That was enough for Bruce to see that he didn't have a winning argument."said Rockland.

"Paula is my girl, but she can have Bruce...You couldn't melt him and pour him on me." said Jazzy.

"He's cooling his heels in the Cooler tonight." said Dabnis.

"He'll be out in the morning...Perhaps he'll be more composed.."said Kayla.

"I've never tried a case against him...I'm glad." said Jessica.

Carlos laughed as more food arrived...

His Partner, Jerome Rich, A very successful Litigation Attorney was also here tonight...He saw us all and waved to us as he approached Johnny Graham...

The two of them had been room mates at Georgetown Law School in Washington D.C. They had passed the bar together in Washington D.C, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Deleware, New Jersey and New York and had moved to Philadelphia, where they both hailed from and set up a very profitable law practice....Lately, envy and jealousy had emerged between the two.

"You should have seen me today partner" said a jubilant Johnny Graham....We finally won, frustrating ole Bruce Greene..." he said.

"Yeah, Yeah Yeah, YOU won the big case, 5 trials and YOU won, More like YOU won with help from Yvette Jones, Keith Jones, Beatrice Evans-Jones, Sofia Garcia- Ahmed and Kahlil Ahmed and their investigator, Jade Lee." snarled Jerome Rich who was less than impressed.

"Hey Man, why you always trying to throw salt on my game? I bring in a lot of money to this practice...and a lot of publicity. Yes they helped me out a great deal, but I was still Lead Attorney."said Johnny Graham..

"You get the headlines, but I bring in the big money clients....Don't forget that.."said Jerome Rich..

"Mannn you are a hater and you're big jealous..."said Johnny Graham...

"You know you're right....I think it's time we both went our own way while we still are on speaking terms....I want you to buy me out.....Think about it..."said Jerome Rich.... "Oh I'm staying at the Motel tonight, I've got an early morning meeting with a client in Cherry Hill...I'm not going home...I'll see you the day after tomorrow." said Jerome Rich, who left the restaurant.

Johnny Graham's phone rang....

It was Brianna Rich, the wife of Attorney Jerome Rich...

"Hey..Heard you guys were successful today...Where are you? " she asked.

Easy for them to say that...They win...." snarled Bruce Greene.

"You win cases too Bruce...." said Paula..

"African -American female...39 years old.... Death from a meat cleaver to the chest area..." said one CSI MAN..

"Nothing appears to have been stolen...There is 10 grand in cash in her pocketbook and three credit cards and a debit card.... Her drivers license says "Brianna Rich" said one of the two detectives on the scene.

"The Body is still warm....She hasn't been dead that long....I'd say two hours, three at the most..."said Coroner Dr. Hazel Baylor.
